I bought this book 21 years ago (!) but never got the chance to read it til now! And I am wondering if I am 21 years late to read this. (laugh) The Compleat Marriage offers practical help to help couples beat those grim statistics. Quoting Van Pelt "Take any dozen wedded couples.....and four will jump overboard, six will stay on deck without joy or love because of children, careers, family, church; and only two will enjoy a compleat marriage." Well that says it all.

This book is like a manual on how to keep your mate happy emotionally, spiritually, sexually etc but perhaps too idealistic.

It is very readable but you will have some cringe moments too especially on chapter 8 - Sexually Fulfill Your Mate (!)
