Pucking My Brother's Best Friend

Rate this book
My brother would kill me if he knew I had a one night stand with his best friend.

Alex Monaghan is the hockey grump I’ve always loathed.

And I thought it was mutual.

Until he winked at me as I was admiring him in the locker room.

A girl can appreciate a perfect eight pack and a chiseled jaw.

Now a snowstorm traps us in my apartment together.

One kiss and my clothes hit the floor.

Let's just say his performance on the ice matches his performance in the bedroom.

Maybe he’s not the damaged bad boy I thought he was.

But I know we're playing on thin ice.

And if my brother finds out about us, we are totally pucked. Pucking My Brother’s Best Friend is a grumpy-sunshine standalone with some steam and an HEA.

Emma is both exasperated by and crushing hard on her brother’s best friend and hockey teammate Alex. He teases her mercilessly and she gives him a hard time right back. When a snow storm has them stuck together, they end up in Emma’s bed, beginning a series of hookups behind her brother’s back.
When Emma is tasked with writing an in depth profile on Alex’s life growing up, he staunchly refuses to discuss certain aspects of that time, including anything and everything about his family. Can they continue hooking up casually or will deeper feelings surface? Will Emma’s day job or Alex’s loyalty to her brother tear them apart? Then there’s Emma’s mercurial ex: how does he play into this?
This was a fairly quick read, and it centers around hockey players, so I’m here for it. My only criticisms are that Emma's issues with her brother finding out seem pretty unrealistic for a twenty-six year old living on her own, and the sasquatch stuff. It could’ve been played for humor, instead it’s just silly.

I mean, they have a lot of sex, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not thaaaat spicy honestly. Everything is a rush, to be real. They had know each other for years, but just with a interview that she has to do, they have sex? And they fall for each other? That’s a little unrealistic.
But I still liked it. That were e a few moments that I was like ‘AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH’ and all of that.
Liam was too harsh with Alex when he found out, but I mean, who can blame him, since it’s his little sister right?
Vanessa was just, eew.
And I hated when there was miscomunication. If they talked, maybe there wouldn’t be a problem in that chapter, about what Emma was thinking, and Alex was feeling. But okay.
The ‘would you like to be my girlfriend’ and the proposal being in the same spot was a little bad too.

The love hate relationship that they share is sweet. What was nice was to see how much respect that he and her brother show her. Also how she is treated by the team as a whole is also nice. I wasn't a fan of her boss or the president of her club but they add to the story. I would love to see what the future holds for them. Also a story about her brother would be really nice.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Alex and Emma are a good team. When they allow themselves to act on the attraction, it becomes love. I liked how Alex proves his love to her and I really liked how Emma stopped the tabloid reporter causing problems.

Emma is excited to fill in for the sports reporter while he is out since she loves hockey. After all, Emma's brother, Liam, is on the Minnesota Marauders. Emma's first assignment is interviewing Alex, the team's star player. This story is violent but don't let that stop you from reading it, plus it's full of romance and steam, ending in a HEA. Very highly recommended.

pretty decent

Not the best story I’ve read but certainly was entertaining and had a great storyline. A few typos that could or should have been caught by editing and time-wise within the story seemed wonky at times with bus travel to games and hockey game schedules. But overall an enjoyable and quick read.

This is a good sports romance with defined MCs. The storyline has drama, some steam, but not a great deal of spice, and a HEA. I liked this engaging book.

She hated her brother best friend but getting snowed in with him leds to a kiss which turns into so much more. Now what will she do because she knows her brother would be so very mad at them both. Will her brother find out? What if she wants even more? How will that go? See how it will

Quick and Cute

The book is a quick simple read. There really was no drama, and miscommunication was cleared up within a chapter. The characters were sweet , but it did lack depth. Hence, the quick read.
