Kitty has done it again with Southpaw Slots, the latest installment from her roller coaster ride of a series, The Compass Series.
The south brings the heat with enemies-to-lovers, Ace, Wyatt, and Ari. The throuple is unexpected, their story dark and trigger-y.

How do I even begin this review? I really had to let this one steep before I could process my feelings. This book's effects were like making tea, the longer you let it steep, the stronger you feel about it… But maybe I should begin with saying read the triggers before you start and then know she warns you before things happen and you don't have to read it unless you can handle it. She explains things later if you decide to skip.. next, I want to tell you that this is a story of coming of age (you'll understand what I mean when you read it), of finding your inner strength, of epic love, and the continuation of all things Gnarled Pines Hallow. I cannot say much without giving spoilers so I'll leave it at, you're either going to numbly survive this book or you're guna want to burn the world down because things get insane; the ante is upped and the stakes are higher.. but don't let it distract you from what this is; a heart felt, epic love story that beats out some of my favorite fantasy fated mates stories… and if you've been looking for more steam in the series..Good news, and I hope you're prepared, because this was too hot to handle. Absolutely off the charts with the steam.. good luck!!!

This is a series and must be read in order. This is book 3, if you haven’t read the other two please go back and do so as it is essential to the world building and the plot.
Kitty does it again, she somehow finds away to top herself not only with the storyline, but with the character development and world building. The way I fell in love with these characters cannot be understated. My heart clung to every aspect of their emotions and felt every bit of joy, pain, turmoil, and hysterics.
As in all things, with all light there is darkness, if you choose to crack this one open I simply cannot stress it enough. The sex was fantastic, but your heart may never be the same… just know there will inevitably be tears, but in the end all is as it should be. Now let’s begin…

💚I wanna shout it for everyone that I simply can’t recommend this series enough. The continuation of the plot line in this book was just 𝒸𝒽ℯ𝒻𝓈 𝓀𝒾𝓈𝓈. In the end, everything felt so real and so visceral that I had to tap into my emotions to help cope. I was so impacted by these fictional characters and their world because I was able to fully immerse myself in it. AND THAT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IS FANTASTIC WRITING. Kitty has blown me away again and honestly it’s like each read gets better and better.

This is a series that HAS to be read in order. This is book 3 of the Compass series. If you have not read books 1 or 2 go back and read them first for the worldbuilding to make sense.

As with all Kitty King books she has done it yet again with this amazing novel. We have begun the series with Max and Livia in Beastly Armory and then Cal and Jane in Rawest Venom. With this book, we move into the South to meet Ari, Ace, and Wyatt.
Ari:
The younger sister of Max. The Empress, The Vixen as she is nicknamed throughout the book. To keep the peace of the city she is promised to the South in return for being saved from the enemy. A bit bratty, lives by her own rules, a boyfriend she has to leave behind because now is the time for her to grow up and start her new life with the husband of an arranged marriage.
Ace:
The broken-hearted and addicted playboy. Living a life following the death of both his parents and his sister. Ace has gone through so many hardships trying to numb the pain, drugs, alcohol, girls, and much more. Will this arranged marriage change things for the worst or the best and will he find out he can love more than just her?
Wyatt:
Is the boyfriend who's left in the dust after Ari’s marriage or is he? Wyatt has nothing and is nothing in the city of Gnarled Pine. Trying to make the city a better place for those in low places. A boy with so many dark secrets in so many hidden places is he the biker boy we know him as?
As with every book Kitty King has written, there are so many ups and downs and she just knows how to GRAB her readers in the best possible way. She shows us hate, love, forgiveness and so many other things. The way she can make one feel during and after reading one of her books is beyond imaginable. While the ending in this book is not your traditional HEA there are certain parts at the end that some readers need to be aware of, please read your trigger warnings before reading and skip the chapters mentioned. This book is not dark until it is. And it's DARK. I swear I had to sit and look at a wall for a good minute after reading. I felt so numb to everything that had happened because I had felt so much. If you're looking for a book that will have you by the heart, mind, body, and soul. Then ladies and gents this one is for you. But remember there is always darkness within the light and your mental health matters! <3

🎰 I am still nowhere near over Southpaw Slots and not sure I ever will be. The complexity of the characters, the depth of emotion and the brilliance of their story is written phenomenally. I don’t know how to express my deep love for it all, but I will do my best. Is there plenty of delicious spicy goodness? Yes, yes there is. It is quite wonderful honestly. But it is the incredible love story that evolves out of a tumultuous beginning to an unconventional relationship sinks deep into the soul.
❇️ Ariana is an empress, vixen and total brat. Having grown up under the watchful eye of her brother she’s learned how to be manipulative. She knows what she wants and how to get it. She also knows how and when to exert power and has the backs of those she loves. Ace is simply such a love. Exuding sexy powerful dominance on the outside, he is quite irresponsible, naïve, and full of self doubt on the inside. He has dreams of what he wants for a future, and is trying to find the strength and a way to make it happen. Wyatt, handsome, sexy and full of secrets. Desperately wanting the love of his life that’s been taken from him. So many inner battles and desperately trying to find peace and hope for future.
🎰 All of them have had terrible violent difficulties in their early lives. Together they heal and it’s the recognition of inner strength, deep rooted love and learning self acceptance that gives our characters a sense of self worth and hope for a happy future. Their tormented inner dialogue and feisty banter is deeply felt.
❇️ Characters you should hate you don’t. Behaviors you should find abhorrent you don’t. Nothing goes the way you think it will and that’s the beauty of the writing from Kitty King. Top shelf mystical mind f♡ckery and I can’t help but crave more.

I am at a total loss for words. 🤯 I am currently sitting here, staring at the wall, tears streaming down my face, trying to process all my emotions.

Kitty wasn't lying with the premise of this one... and she definitely delivered once again, now to wait until October to the final chapter...

Wow… Kitty wasn't kidding about this one; the first 85% were straight-up romance filled with banter, love, strong characters and A LOT of SPICE! Then the twists, the wtf-moments, the angst, emotional punches and the darkness hit and IT HIT HARD!
It's not a traditional HEA, but a Kitty HEA, so I had no idea what to expect, which I guess was the point and the ending did shock me. Also, I was so in my feels by the end, tears were streaming down my cheeks, and I didn't really know what to do with myself…
This is a continuation of The Compass series and all the goings-on in Gnarled Pines Hallow following books 1 and 2 (new main characters but needs to be read in order due to the world building and the overarching plot).
This story delved even deeper into the darkness and the secrets of GPH, and even though some things were explained, I was still left with quite a few unanswered questions, that has me even more anxious for the final chapter - Anorthic Anarchy.
There is triggers (heavy triggers) in this one, but the author prepares you before each trigger is relevant and you can skip if it's too much, as things are explained later.
Arianna 'Ari' has to marry Ace even though she has a boyfriend (Wyatt). Ari is such a strong and stubborn woman and she gets what she wants, which throws Wyatt into the marriage, that's slowly becoming a polyamorous relationship (MMF).
I was on a wild rollercoaster of emotions and with all the twists and turns along the way I was kept on the edge of my seat (figuratively). I kept guessing, and I just had to keep reading to find out what was up and down.
It was also, however, a strong story of epic love, growth and finding that inner strength. And the romance and spice was both pure, intense, frustrating and so beautiful and filled with high stakes, that caused a lot of tension and some too hot to handle spice - seriously off the charts.
Now to wait for the final book, which hopefully ties up all the loose ends, although I expect it to be an even crazier, wilder, darker journey to get there.

I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again… Kitty has written the world of Gnarled Pine Hollow like no other. It stands out proud when compared to any other; it’s up there in the clouds, floating above the rest like the bad a$$ boss world it really is. I fell in love with it during book one, reaffirmed my love in book two and have now declared my love as an obsession during book three. That’s how much this series means to me. It will always hold a special place in my dark, twisted heart 🖤
As with all Kitty’s books, this was brilliantly structured. Kitty is so thorough and her books so well thought out; they are always challenging and stuffed full of emotional conflict. Her characters are like none you’ve come across before; so unique and beautifully written. The level of detail is phenomenal. The development throughout the read is always outstanding. The world building leaves you feeling shook, each and every time.
The feels it ripped out of me were life changing. I’m still reeling 24 hours later. My emotions were all over the place, one second I was happy, the next I was raging. It was an emotional rollercoaster for sure, but it didn’t cross the finish line as you would expect. And with that came a barrel load of emotions I was not prepared for in the slightest. It was like when you’re hangry but you have no food; it was that level of angry sad rage.
Ari is your typical spoilt brat but wow does that woman have a smart, sassy side that she keeps hidden. She’s not as ditzy as she makes out and I love her for it. I think she was just what Ace needed too.
Wyatt, I understand him but I don’t like his actions. I love him but I hate him. He’s like marmite, I hate that I love him.
Ace… my beautiful Ace. I loved him. He was my absolute favourite in this book. He was the naive man child that was shockingly innocent to the ways of the world around him. I loved watching him grow throughout the book and witness the great levels of love he reached. He has a special place in my heart!
This book has some of the best nicknames I’ve ever read. They were hilarious! I adored the witty banter between the characters, it gave it such a feel good feeling. And the sexual tension hit hard! The chemistry between the characters was spicy hot! The overall group dynamic worked really well.
Kitty, I will never get enough of your books! Thank you for sharing your amazing masterpieces with the world 🖤

This book. Where do I even start. Kitty Kitty Kitty. She gives you everything in this book. Book number three in the series does not disappoint. My baby Asa, my poor playboy soul. He just wants love, and Kitty gives it to him. Arianna, girl we need to talk. Wyatt I hate that you made me like you a smidge.
Overall I loved this book so much. I devoured it in one sitting(like all of Kitty’s books). The plot is spicy spicy. I loved the growth of the characters and reading them develop into more. The characters will make you love them and hate them. This series is a must!

The drama in this book, y’all. THE DRAMA. Sometimes I was cackling at the very entertaining diminished maturity levels of the MCs and other times I was tearing up over how emotional intelligent they were. My emotions truly ran the spectrum in this novel. I’m still not over this book and that is making it one of my favorite reads this year.
Ari is our FMC in this third book in The Compass series. I love her and her fire and her ability to use the tools she has at her disposal to cause the acquiescence of others to do what she wants (call it manipulation if you want but I’m calling Ari an enterprising HBC). She is the perfect Queen for the Southside. Let somebody f**k around, they will quickly find out they made a mistake.
Asa. My heart feels for him and his journey. He’s lost a lot in his life and that definitely informed how he built/builds relationships with people and the self destructive behaviors he uses as coping mechanisms. As he grows throughout the book it’s such a beautiful journey. He is one of my fave MMCs.

If you’ve been reading the Compass Series and it’s felt a little bit like dark chaos and now you’re ready for a breath of fresh air then this one is for you. In my opinion the first 85% of this one is much lighter and softer than the others in this series. Now the last section gets real dark real fast so head the TWs in the book and at the beginning of the book.

I was so ready for this book after Cal’s story and this book did not disappoint! Kitty took me on a damn roller coaster with my emotions for this book, if it’s one thing I love about Kitty’s writing is that I always know I’m going through the wringer and I’m HERE for it!

Although Kitty tries to prepare us for this book, I still feel like I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Having already been introduced to these characters in previous books, I was pretty invested in them before I even started. I can admit I was a little hesitant going in because I’ve never had any desire to reading anything with more than one love interest. This was my first and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I absolutely loved it. (Another first with Kitty ❤️)
Arianna is a brat. She’s manipulative & way smarter than she’s given credit for. She’s been promised to the King of the South in order to avoid a much crueler fate. The only problem is she has a boyfriend that she has no intentions of letting go.

As soon as you start to think you have it all figured out, there’s another insane plot twist proving you wrong. This book will break your heart and eventually put it back together again. There is a HEA. You just have to trust the process of getting there.
This book is extremely dark. And full of triggers. But there’s a warning where you can skip certain scenes and still enjoy the book. If you have triggers, please don’t take these warnings lightly. They are there for a reason.

I can’t say I liked where she took this series. But I will say that I respect the fuck out of the way she respects her readers. The way she ALL CAPS PAGE BRRAKS warnings before some scenes she’s knows will be particularly triggering AND provides a summary at the end for readers who chose to skip those scenes? 🤌🏼✨

Book 3 in the Compass Series was fun, with an underlying current of something ain’t right. Like book 2, I thought I was in the know, but I wasn’t. I was warned, but it was more like “look at this crazy thing happening here,” and then you get slapped in the face. Well-played, Kitty.
Beastly Armory (#1) was adventure and gore, Rawest Venom (#2) was calm and collected with some jagged edges. Southpaw Slots (#3) had constant movement and then a stop short… of sorts.
I’ll be consistent since I’ve compared the other 2 books to various movies. There was only one that came to mind -- JoJo Rabbit. Southpaw Slots was fun (smexy) and funny (nicknames). Until it wasn’t fun, no mo’. My heart ached ACHED with Jojo, and so it ached, broke even, with SS, too. [insert sad face emoji)
Kitty finds a way to do a great sike with her stories of love, pain, spice, and GREAT storytelling. I was floored by the sprinkles of warnings she issued throughout (both in the story and her actual TWs) and the clues I noted for myself for the who and where. Since I already had the what and when. But I was still f*cking wrong.
🐺 + 🧸 + ⚙️ Ace + Arianna + Wyatt: MMF is not a typical read for me. This was an entirely new world in the familiar setting of Gnarled Pine Hollow. I don’t know how MMFs typically go, but this SS reads like found family for me. I believe in this pack so much that I wanted to be a part of it.
☕️ I paired books 1 and 2 with my favorite coffee, Café Crema. I’m glad I did because this story was so twisted that I needed something to comfort me in those “moments” (just like in BA and RV). Café Crema is incredibly smooth in flavor and is excellent if you’re craving some espresso. It’s typically not sold in the States, but you can find it on the Zon.
▶️ Songs that remind of SS and vice versa are 2 On (Tinashe), Secrets (Regard & RAYE), and Power Over Me (Dermot Kennedy). These remind me of the different tropes and progression throughout the story.
🗓️ What’s next? Kitty keeps wanting me to pack on the pounds because food seems to be a highlight for her (I mean, me) in this series, so I will go make some pancakes and read some of the fun/spicy Gnarly Pine Hollow highlights. And you? You should get caught up on the books.

I am so, so, so looking forward to the conclusion. Book 4 of the Compass Series is “Anorthic Anarchy,” it will be available this Fall.

Honestly I don’t even know where to start. There’s so much I want to say but can’t without giving the plot away. I actually had to wait several days before writing my review because I needed to decompress and process this book. Hmm, maybe I should have started with this is the third book in the Compass series and IS NOT A STANDALONE, you will need to read these books in order. Second … READ the TW so you know what you’re getting into. However Kitty is kind enough to warn you on page before things happen so if you decide to skip those parts you can skip and read the explanation of what happens without the detail.
Moving onto the book … again without giving too much of the plot away we are back in Gnarled Pines caught in the epic love story of Arianna, Wyatt, and Ace.
Arianna, the empress, who’s wanted nothing more than to be loved and cared for, and believes in fairytales with a happily ever after is forced into a marrying a man she doesn’t love in order to save herself and family. But how can she let go of the man she already loves?
Ace, the broken playboy, who’s chases high after high searching for something he never seems to find is forced to marry Arianna in order to save his pack. He gives up everything in order to achieve this goal, but what happens when what he’s been looking for might now be staring him in the face?
Wyatt, a nobody, a drug runner, a simple man with nothing to offer is forced to watch the love of his life marry another man. And what happens when Arianna gives the green light that he can come live with her and Ace? Will he be able to share her in that way? (By the way the answer YES, YES HE DOES)
Kitty is seriously one of my all time favourite authors and she NEVER disappoints when it comes to a fantastic plot and building and creating characters in a world that I that I just want immerse myself into. Like I just want to jump into this series and become a part of it. The way this story is unfolding has me in a chokehold. The secrets, the twists, the turns, her ability to surprise me, AND break my fucking heart is phenomenal!! Honestly I don’t even know where to start. There’s so much I want to say but can’t without giving the plot away. I actually had to wait several days before writing my review because I needed to decompress and process this book. Hmm, maybe I should have started with this is the third book in the Compass series and IS NOT A STANDALONE, you will need to read these books in order. Second … READ the TW so you know what you’re getting into. However Kitty is kind enough to warn you on page before things happen so if you decide to skip those parts you can skip and read the explanation of what happens without the detail.
Moving onto the book … again without giving too much of the plot away we are back in Gnarled Pines caught in the epic love story of Arianna, Wyatt, and Ace.
Arianna, the empress, who’s wanted nothing more than to be loved and cared for, and believes in fairytales with a happily ever after is forced into a marrying a man she doesn’t love in order to save herself and family. But how can she let go of the man she already loves?
Ace, the broken playboy, who’s chases high after high searching for something he never seems to find is forced to marry Arianna in order to save his pack. He gives up everything in order to achieve this goal, but what happens when what he’s been looking for might now be staring him in the face?
Wyatt, a nobody, a drug runner, a simple man with nothing to offer is forced to watch the love of his life marry another man. And what happens when Arianna gives the green light that he can come live with her and Ace? Will he be able to share her in that way? (By the way the answer YES, YES HE DOES)
Kitty is seriously one of my all time favourite authors and she NEVER disappoints when it comes to a fantastic plot and building and creating characters in a world that I that I just want immerse myself into. Like I just want to jump into this series and become a part of it. The way this story is unfolding has me in a chokehold. The secrets, the twists, the turns, her ability to surprise me, AND break my fucking heart is phenomenal!! Asa/Ace is a hot mess but Arianna knows how to push all the right buttons….that girls knows how to get what she wants….she has enough love & innocence in her Asa can’t help but soften up some….
They both lived a pretty rough life….Arianna had her brother to lean on & protect her…Asa had no one….his friends were his only support system but they were also a bad influence
We learn early on in the series about the 4 families….brother bear married sister fox….now sister bear must marry the wolf to unite 3 of the families….when I first read about it I thought no way is this happening…sister bear was so innocent-ish & the wolf was completely opposite….I do think they are exactly what each other needed
Only one problem….Arianna has a boyfriend, Wyatt…..I honestly felt for the guy….he also had a pretty rough life….then a few details come to light & now I’m not sure how I feel about this kid…I think he meant well but we all know how that goes
If you haven’t read the first 2 books in this series you need to before starting this one…you don’t have necessarily but some things won’t make any sense if you start at book 3
Check the trigger & content warnings for this book….there are 2 very heavy topics in this one…I just have to say Kitty King respects her readers….in this book she put a warning in at the front of this book & right before the events took place….I read every word & while it didn’t bother me I can completely understand why it may trigger some….you don’t miss anything though…there is a brief summary letting you know what you missed minus the triggering content

So, I'm pretty sure this is my favorite of the Compass Series to date! I have loved every single one, but Southpaw Slots will PUT.YOU.THROUGH.IT! I went through a roller coaster of emotions with these three and jumped around throughout the book on which one I wanted to slap or hug.
We first start hearing about these characters in book 1, Beastly Armory. One of the many reasons you must read this series is in order. Man, it makes a difference and adds so much depth to the experience. With that, I think a lot of readers had already formed opinions and favorites regarding Ari and each of the guys going into Southpaw, I know I had. I was sold on Ari and Wyatt being together. The deeper into the story I got, the more I fell in love with Ace, Ari, and Wyatt. Especially the boys.
Cue up mafia style arranged marriage and hmm… I was intrigued to see how this was going to go. Well, go, it did, and what a ride it was. Being a Kitty King book, I was completely on edge and suspicious of EVERYBODY, trying to figure out what each person’s end game was. When plots started plotting and twists were twisting, my heart was doing the same, and all I wanted to do was hit the pause button on paradise for just a bit longer. The book was fantastic and objectively, I think it worked out exactly how it was supposed to.
The ANGST! The buildup – the blindsiding feelings. The passionate, carefree love. The endgame… the **** endgame! The further into the story you get, you really start to see everything coming together and how interwoven so many aspects are. I can’t wait for Anorthic Anarchy to see how this all plays out.
Consider Kitty the onion author - in every one of these books, there have been countless layers to peel back and navigate. I thought by now I knew better than to make any assumptions about any characters. Well, fool me thrice… and apparently, I’ll still come back begging for more.

Southpaw Slots is a MMF enemies to lovers arranged marriage romance and book 3 in The Compass Series. This series must be read in order. This series is seriously 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴! Each book just keeps getting better than the last. Asa is hands down my new favorite MMC of the series and his character growth was just fantastic. The dynamic between Asa, Arianna, and Wyatt was 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. The majority of their story is filled with non stop spice, but there’s also so much love that eventually forms between them and you can’t help but fall for all three of them. I was so fully immersed in their story and then that unexpected ending hit and I AM NOT OKAY. I was definitely not prepared for how emotional their story ended up being and I can’t get these characters out of my head. Once again, Kitty has completely blown me away and I am both excited and terrified for Anorthic Anarchy. 5⭐️

“Southpaw Slots” is the third book in The Compass series. I highly suggest reading books 1 and 2 before diving headfirst into the lives of the Empress, the Maverick, and the Wildcard. If you have been keeping up with the series, welcome back to the wild mind of Kitty King and the grim world of Gnarled Pine Hollow.
There has been only a handful of books to make me shed a tear and now I can add this book to the list. It starts at a decent pace, the events take place after “Rawest Venom. We get a more in-depth glance into the lives of Arianna Freidenberg, Ace Donovan, and Wyatt Steele.
At first, I thought Arianna was a spoiled brat in the previous books because of how she acted when she didn’t get her way. Learning why she acted spoiled in book 3, helped clear up the issues I had with her---along with how she defended the one person I least expected.
In true Kitty fashion, she had me conflicted about my feelings about Ace, I didn’t know whether to like him or dislike him in the beginning. He’s an ass and a big one at that but he eventually grew on me with his actions as the story progressed. His relationship with Wyatt was the highlight for me. It was fun and interesting to see how their storyline unfolded.
Wyatt is a character who surprised me the most in the book. I didn't realize how far deep in the trenches of Gnarled Pine Hollow he was in. I suggest having a few of your coping mechanisms on standby because you’re gonna need it after finding out.

OMG! WOW! That was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster ride that squeezed out everything from me. I was in a chokehold the whole way through, laughing, crying and screaming with rage. The heaviness was intense, the passion was insane, and the incredible love that grew between three unsuspecting characters was just everything.
Arianna is quite the force to be reckoned with. She fierce, bratty, spoiled, and knows just how to get exactly what she wants from everyone.
Ace is a playboy and a complete and utter broken mess. He has no idea that his new wife, the spitfire that she is, is going to turn his world upside down and inside out. Hopefully for the better.
Wyatt is the outsider who must give up his love to another. But Wyatt has more secrets than the rest of them. He will do everything and anything to continue to be in Arianna’s life, even if it means sacrificing everything he knows.
The banter was perfect, the connections were intense, the emotions between all three of them just oozed off the pages and melted my heart, but the smut was utter perfection and had my body aching for release.
It was such a fantastic story that kept me on the edge of my seat, continually biting my nails with anxiety, and gasping at the shocking twists and turns the story takes. I was wholly unprepared for the way this one would end, but it was a brilliant way to break my heart into pieces and then glue it back together again.
I can’t wait for the final book in this series to see how everything wraps up for all of these amazing characters.

The banter was perfect, the connections were intense, the emotions between all three of them just oozed off the pages and melted my heart, but the smut was utter perfection and had my body aching for release.
It was such a fantastic story that kept me on the edge of my seat, continually biting my nails with anxiety, and gasping at the shocking twists and turns the story takes. I was wholly unprepared for the way this one would end, but it was a brilliant way to break my heart into pieces and then glue it back together again.
I can’t wait for the final book in this series to see how everything wraps up for all of these amazing characters.

I don't even know where to start with this. I do want to start by saying just like with previous books in the series, READ THOSE TRIGGER WARNINGS!!! It's not dark dark buuuuuuuut it does get dark. This is the 3rd in the series and it MUST be read in order, trust me you don't want to miss the craziness that the first two books in the series have to offer!
This grabbed me in and I was taken on a ride, a smut filled glorious ride none the less!!! This was completely different than the first two in the series but it was a good different. It had growth of characters, amazing love story and tears, sooooo many tears!
I can not say enough great things about this series!!! Can't wait to see what happens in the North with the continuation of the Compass Series

It's another Kitty King book where I don’t do my normal review of giving y’all a synopsis of the story so as not to reveal too many details. However, I will say… that the series just keeps getting better and better. Last book, (Rawest Venom) we learned about some new players and discoveries of who really runs things. To change the trajectory of their lives, Asa (Ace) Donovan agrees to marry Arianna Freidenberg to strengthen their sides and fund Asa’s pack with his low funds. What Asa doesn’t expect is to have a thorn in his side, the thorn being his new wife’s boyfriend. It’s crazy hot, spicy, and just plain CRAZYY, but the ending will make you shocked, crying, and flabbergasted at what happened. Just like any Kitty King book, it’s not a HEA that you expect from other books but a Kitty King version of a HEA, and it’s perfect for the story. Please check the content warning, as it does describe heavy topics/scenes. You’ll be forever changed by reading this series, and you don’t want to miss the next one!

ASA MFKN DONOVAN!!!
I don’t ever have the words to describe how much this book has rocked me!
I’ll start with Ari.. what a total bad*ss!! I found myself getting super annoyed with her at one point, because she was very selfish, but I secretly love her. She knew what she wanted and decided to make the best out of a situation that was decided for her before she had a chance to even make those choices for herself.
Then here comes Ace. Ace is absolute perfection. Kitty really outdid herself with his entire character development, really having us the readers, experience and step into his shoes. All of the things that are troubling him. He is honestly just a hurt kid a damaged kid inside of a grown man’s body, and I love how he flourished into such a beautiful strong man at the end of the book.
And here comes Wyatt. Wyatt from the very beginning. I was not a fan of him. And then seeing how he was such a vital character throughout the book and how his entire presence affected every single last person throughout the entire series, made me kind of like him a little bit.
I love how their entire relationship between the three of them was executed throughout the book. I love the way that kitty portrayed everyone’s emotions. And I just am completely speechless with how this book ended.

This is book 3 in the series and the other two need to be read first to understand Southpaw Slots. I’m still processing…. It seems all of Kitty’s books have that effect on me. I thought I loved Rawest Venom but this is by far my favorite of the series so far. Asa is the playboy and honestly a hot mess chasing his next high (adrenaline/dopamine/serotonin) at the beginning. Arianna is the spoiled bratty vixen who is forced into an arranged marriage to help save herself. Wyatt the one who will do anything for Arianna. The growth they all face. I don’t want to give too much away but this book is truly amazing. PLEASE check the trigger warnings before hand. There are some really dark themes in this book and does not end in a traditional happily ever after. You will probably walk away a little emotionally wrecked like I was but I’m ok with that.
I really love the way this series is progressing. The way the building of the world and the character development layers 🤌🏼🤌🏼 If you’ve read Kitty King before you know what I mean. If you haven’t please do yourself a favor and start. Finally warning to read the triggers, she does very well at giving you a heads up. This world is dark but insanely delicious.
