I love this issue! 'Sad Shadow' by Roger Funston is among the highlights for me:
"He stands still, stoic
Rescued from homelessness
From the brink of starvation
This sad shadow quietly walks up to me
Quivering question-mark tail
Waiting for me to pet his gray snout
and coarse fur filled with healing sores
Inside scars remain"
Loved this from 'The Monster's Demise' by Peter Crowley
"they mistake the mirror for their enemy and attack."
I also really enjoyed the preview of a collection of essays by Samuel J Fox. All quality material here. HIghly recommended.
