When my cat brought me a dead bird as a present, I cringed.
When that dead bird suddenly flitted back to life, I screamed.
At first, I shrugged it off as one of the random things that happens when your roommate is a magical cat, but then it kept happening.
Turns out a familiar foe is creating an army of undead creatures with the goal of forcing us to surrender. But Merlin and I refuse to let dark magic prevail—not when the entire existence of magic is now at stake.
And if magic dies, so too will all who wield it.
Oh no, my cat will NOT become a casualty in this unholy war. I’m ready to fight my way through a million zombies and then take out the big bad, too. Nothing can come between this witchy cat and his familiar—and I’m ready to prove it.
Molly Fitz is the quirky, cozy mystery pen name of USA Today bestselling author, Melissa Storm. And while she can't technically talk to animals, she and her doggie best friend, Sky Princess, have deep and very animated conversations as they navigate their days. Add to that, five more dogs, a snarky feline, comedian husband, and diva daughter, and you can pretty much imagine how life looks in the Casa de Fitz.
Molly lives in a house on a high hill in the Michigan woods and occasionally ventures out for good food, great coffee, or to meet new animal friends.
While Merlin and Luna await the birth of their litter, Gracie is attacked by a horde of zombie squirrels. Obviously they all wonder if Dash is behind this, and why? And why in blue blazes is Mr. Fluffikins hanging around? Drake and Kelly are good until Drake...well, this is Molly Fitz, the twists just keep on coming
Answers will come if you are patient, something no one in the series really seems to be. I do hope we see these characters wandering around in the Peach Plains Paranormal books. Highly Recommended 5/5
[Disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily read and reviewed it]
I really loved that all three of my favorite Molly Fitz series are set in one world but have different rules. Such fun! I still think I should've read PTA 3: Vampire For Hire first but oh well, what can I do? Also, I get everything through context so I guess that's not exactly a requirement.
As for the plot, it's not very complicated but not boring either. It's just a simple, fun adventure that don't need a lot of brain power to read through and that's exactly what I needed. Although there's some worldbuilding aspects as usual, they don't bother me since it's not convoluted. I'm excited to see what's gonna happen in book 4, as well as the new series.
This is a fun and very quirky, quick read adventure. I liked the fact that the author created an unusual story for this series and everything we know gets turned around by making Merlin the cat and the power behind the magic and the human the familiar. The story does work as a standalone but I think it would make more sense if you know the backstory and there is also a few familiar faces from some of the authors other series. I think this is the last book for this series but with the possibility of some of the characters staring in there own adventure I will keep reading books by this author. When Merlin brings a present for Gracie they had no idea that hours later they would be fighting for there lives and to save all the magic in the world. Someone is bringing back dead animals to terrorise Merlin, his human and familiar Grace and his pregnant wife Luna. With the other of kitten due very soon the last thing Merlin wants his her out fighting zombies. The only way to put a stop to it is to travel to the magic world nocturnal but even that might prove to be hazardous to there health. Can the human and two cats survive somebody's plan to separate them from there magic? I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
MERLIN KILLS A ZOMBIE is the third and final book in the Merlin the Magical Fluff series. Each release builds on the previous stories, so I recommend reading them in the order of release.
Another fun, simple, easy-to-read adventure with the cat(s) in charge. I may not like zombies – truly, who does? – but how can you miss the antics of zombie squirrels!? I was glued to my kindle from beginning to end. Honestly, who needs sleep when there are kitty-witches and their familiar to enjoy?
Though this trilogy is done, the good news is that we have been introduced to many wonderful characters who will soon have their own series. I’ve already read two of the Paranormal Temp Agency books and I’m looking forward to Drake’s and Jake’s series.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via BookSprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

MERLIN KILLS A ZOMBIE by Molly Fitz Is a fast read that brings some fun and humor into our dark days and is suitable for the whole family. This is the third book in her series "Merlin the Magical Fluff" and it is all fun and entertainment drawing me in from the beginning and keeping me hooked until the end.
Gracie, Merlin and Luna battle zombies. Are these zombies part of Dash's plans for revenge? Mr. Fluffikins sweeps in and takes Drake to the Supernatural Board, telling Merlin they are on their own.
You'll enjoy this kitty cozy from beginning to end. While there may not be a lot of depth or meaningful plot to this story, you will be turning pages and smiling from beginning to end. Looks like Luna is getting a story of her own story, LUNA THE MAGICKLESS FLUFF as part of a special cozy mystery anthology.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When Merlin brings a dead bird to Gracie as a gift, she's not happy but it gets worse as the bird keeps coming back to life. It soon becomes clear that they're being attacked and it seems that a familiar person is behind it. Can Merlin and Gracie fight the dark magic and put a stop to it?
I've really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. It's a great ending to the trilogy. This was a quick, fun book which I read in one sitting. It's well-written with wonderful characters. I was drawn in from the start and kept hooked throughout. You'll find yourself on the edge of your seat as you root for Merlin and Gracie. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order for the most enjoyment and benefit.
I believe you will enjoy the book so be sure to grab it while you can. The plot is very interesting. Merlin will make you smile. Grace is not happy with the gift that Merlin brings her. It's a dead bird that keeps coming back to life. Then you have those zombie squirrels. Who is behind all the squirrels? Gracie Springs and Merlin are back for what appears to be a final conquest of evil in the form of zombies - unending zombies. Luna is on hand, though expecting kittens any day, and even Mr. Fluffikins makes an appearance from his own series to assist in fighting Merlin’s evil black cat nemesis, Dash. There are plenty of special paranormal effects and the non-stop action erupts from Elderberry Heights, Georgia all the way to Nocturnal, accessed through the birdbath portal.
I received a free copy of this book for my voluntary honest review. In keeping with the previous books in this series, there are touches of humor and lots of drama. If you enjoy talking cats, vampires, witches and dragons, all with a bit of levity, this could be a fun read.
As Merlin and Luna wait for the birth of their baby kittens, Gracie is presented with a dead bird from Merlin. Unfortunately, the bird won’t stay dead, realizing they have a zombie. Could this all be the actions of Dash? As things escalate, they seek the help of Mr. Fluffkins and later Drake. Seems no one is who they thought they were and Merlin and Gracie are now dealing with the fight of their lives. It was an good ending to a series…or is it the end?.

This is a fabulously written cozey mystery with mayhem and murder, intrigue and adventure with an array of colorful, charming, quirky characters OH and a nasty unknown villen!! You will meet a talking cats, zombies, vampires, witches and more drawing you in into its story while the mystery and plot keeps you turning page after page until you reach its unexpected and climatic conclusion Truly it's a wonderfully magical read. Acquire "Merlin Kills a Zombie " so you yourself can enjoy it as much as I have. 😀 Kat
The excitement builds in this third book in the Merlin the Magical Fluff trilogy. Gracie Springs is still learning how to be the familiar of her witch cat, Merlin. Things have been quiet for a while as they all wait for the birth of Merlin’s and Luna’s kittens. Little did they know that their life is fixing to get turned upside down with the appearance of animal zombies! This event marks the start of a very exciting fight against Merlin’s evil nemesis, Dash. I was so drawn into the story that I couldn’t put this one down until I was finished reading it! Fantastic read!
Merlin, Gracie, and Luna are back in another fun adventure. When zombies attack, the trio knows they need help defeating the evil Dash. With help from Mr. Fluffikins(from another series) and Drake they prevail. There are several twists in the story that kept it interesting. However, I don't care for the way things ended. I can't be more specific without writing a spoiler. I did enjoy the trilogy and recommend it.
Patience is not a virtue... Baby kittens are on the way! Proud papa Merlin and mama Luna, await their births, but of course it can't be easy sailing for any of characters before the big moment. Gracie gets a gift from Merlin, but not a gift she wanted, (neither would I), and of course the bird has its own twist. Merlin loses his "lightning" abilities, zombie squirrels a plenty, throw in Drake and oh my! My fav part is Jacob the kitten, no vampire, werewolf.....whatever. LOL
This is such a cute and fun story! Luna is pregnant and Merlin and Gracie must head to Nocturna, but when they arrive, his rival is waiting for him and they commence with the duel that they were supposed to have previously. Meanwhile, Dash shows up with an evil plan in mind, and it turns out that he is..... I won't give away the story, but you should read it yourself. You'll have a lot of fun!
Merlin, Luna and Gracie face an old foe. When Merlin is looking forward to the birth of his kittens, new trouble shows up. Their old enemy has put Merlin and Gracie into Nocturna and they are not sure if they will ever be able to get home. Mr. Fluffikins makes an appearance to help them, but will it be enough? Will they ever get home?
Cats and zombies, not something you might think of, but that is what happens with Merlin and his familiar Gracie! They have to battle animal zombies and an evil wizard!
Drake is back to help and we find out where his weirdness comes from!
Luna will not stay behind just because she is about to have a litter of kittens! She does her part as well!
I quite enjoy Merlin, Luna and Gracie. Of course the rest of the crew is a welcome addition to the series, but those three are pretty fun to read about. I loved the 'way out' for Gracie. Was a bit worried where the story might go but also well that ends well. At least for now......
Gracie doesn't know what's happening when a bird doesn't stay dead. What's going on? It takes her, Merlin, Luna going through the birdbath portal to find out. What they discover there is alarming: Vampires, Witches, & a Dragon. How will they defeat Dash, the bad guy? It's not easy. I received a free copy. This is my voluntary review.
Gracie and Merlin start the day with a zombie bird that just won’t die. And the day gets worse with a scurry of zombie squirrels. This calls for a visit to Nocturna where things only get worse. Loved this book and the characters especially the kittens.
A ghost, a vampire, talking/magical cats and now zombies!!!!! Gracie and the gang are back and now they have to fight the zombies. Lots of changes coming as well as danger but never fear Merlin is here. This is a funny and magical read.
Merlin Kills a Zombie is the last book in the Magical Fluff series. As always, things are not as they seem. You won't figure this one out! There is an epic battle and old powers change and new ones are revealed. The book draws you into the story from the first page.
I really love this series, as I am a familiar to several kitties of my own and couldn't be happier. I can't wait for you to continue the series and have shared all three books with my book worm friends and family. Till the next time "Happy Reading".
Another wonderful book in this awesome series. Molly Fitz is such a amazing author. I highly recommend reading this wonderful series of books...loved reading about Merlin and the rest of the characters...
Interesting and intense addition to the series. It's also very informative with a slew of very shocking unpredictable twists and turns. The plot is very busy but connects several dots. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to read and leave a review.
I love the book. Merlin and Luna are very good together and they are great with Angie as the familiar for Merlin. I would recommend this book to everyone it was written very good. Sincerely Barbara R. Cardin
Sometimes, you just want to relax and have a little fun. This is a book that fits that mood perfectly. It's obviously pure fantasy, but I'm sure it mimics exactly what it would be like if cats really could talk and do magic.
I was unable to put this book down! I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait for the new series to start with these same characters. I’m pretty attached to them all and can’t wait to read about Daisy, Rosie and Honeysuckle as they grow and come into their magic.
