Alastair has lived on five continents and started three businesses. A passionate teacher, he taught scuba diving in Egypt, skiing in the Rockies, snowboarding in the Appalachians, capoeira in New York City, algebra to kids with dyslexia, and English to kids in the favelas of Brazil.
He is married with two children and divides his time between San Diego, California, and Florianópolis, Brazil.

An ode to surfing and life.
Alistair Thompson presents the reader with a unique way to view surfing as a meaningful experience in life. He covers many aspects to demonstrate that surfing is more than just catching waves and that surfing attracts many different types of people. The books is a nice read that draws you in as you go from one topic to another.
