Hi, I’m Natalie Hale and I sell my blood for a living.
Not like you’re thinking—I don’t go to the Blood Bank and give plasma to make money. It’s not nearly that easy. Vik’tor is the richest man on the planet and everyone defers to him. When he swoops me up and takes me to his penthouse, I suddenly feel like I’m in a scifi version of Pretty Woman. (Only I don’t think Richard Gere asked to bite Julia Roberts and drink her blood.) The main thing is, though, I’m safe and warm—finally warm! Vik’tor is only half vampire—his other half is Braxian which means he has curling horns, blue tattoos, and a wicked temper. He’s also fiercely protective of me, which I kind of like after having to make it on my own for so long.
But my own personal Pretty Woman scenario can’t last for long. There are people in Vik’tor’s life that want to get rid of me—people who will stop at nothing to see me dead. Will I survive the attempts on my life and will Vik’tor get to me in time?

The heroine: Natalie - she was abducted from Earth by the alien mate index and sold to a wormlike alien who wanted a Latizal (a female with an an ability or power) as a gift for his emperor. When her power didn’t manifest, he dumped her on an awful planet called O’nagga Nine. It is a frozen planet inhabited by vampires. She lived by selling her blood, one bite at a time, from her wrist, not her neck. Though she didn’t make much and her life was not good and she was always cold. She had to hide each night from the sweepers, the bugs who came out to feed on the ice mites to and keep the hub from deteriorating.
The Hero: Baron Vik’tor - he is half vampire and half Braxian and is the wealthiest person on O’nagga Nine. He was like a mafia lord on the planet. When he finds out from one of his advisors, that a blood whore is using his sigil (which he only gives out to special guests for protection), he is determined to find out why.
The Story: Natalie has a blood pimp named Rixus who put a tracker chip in her. Another of his girl’s introduced them and she was his before she knew what was going on. She lived in a hole and was horrified by what she had to do to survive. She dreamed of getting back to earth and had a chance to leave at one point but was to afraid to run from Rixus for fear of what he does to girls that run from him.
I liked this entire series, and this one was no different. Each book in this series was great and took place in different settings though there was a bit of crossover between some of the books. Though each could definitely be read as a standalone. The story was a good one, it had some danger and some villains and the romance was pretty good as well.
This book was told in multiple points of view by a dual narration. It and was narrated by William Martin and Hazel Burns. Natalie was African American and Hazel did a terrific job at the narration and sounded exactly as I would expect Natalie to sound. William Martin does a great job as well. He speaks in a kind of a loud whisper, and I liked that.

A solid 3.5 stars!
I started this book late last night (like maybe around 2 am?) after immediately finishing Pierced, one of the Kindred Bride books, thanks to the free deal EA was running.
I LOVED the beginning. From what I can recall, Evangeline Anderson always writes great beginnings/set-ups, and I almost want to pick up Brides of the Kindred Book 29 to just read the set-up (even though I have a whole list of books I need to read first.)(I have three library books that are just sitting around the house and getting on my nerves.)
From the title, I thought that Vik'tor, the Baron, would marry Natalie right away, but that wasn't the case. I've never seen the movie Pretty Woman , but I guess this is like it.
I think this would have been a 4-star read for me if they had just talked more about their pasts (which is my major complaint in almost every romance novel I read: can I see these two characters talking for hours when they are not having mind-blowing sex?). I really liked how at the beginning, they immediately started talking. Of course, I don't want all this talking instead of a plot, but I would just like a few more deep conversations intertwined naturally in the book where they get to know each other well. After all, these two got the Earth equivalent of married after knowing each other for only a week!
Evangeline was wondering if we readers want more AMI books or Kindred. I like the AMI, but I probably prefer the Kindred series. I have a connection to the old characters like Commander Sylvan, who is always in every book even if the girls aren't. That being said, I wouldn't mind a few more AMI books if there were stories to be told (and it seems like there might be with Gumpas still being on the loose).

I'm SO glad we're back in this world. I found myself enjoying the AMI series more than the Kindred one and then was super sad when nothing else was published within the series. I read this one before book 5 because this matched my mood. It has more of a Kindred feel to it than AMI, but I still really enjoyed it. Can't wait to backtrack and read book 5! More please, Mrs. Anderson!!

DNF @ 49%.
I attempted to CLAW my way to the end of this book. I couldn't do it. The only reason I even got to 49% is because I liked the world the story was set in, it's an interesting concept. The writing wasn't good and dialogue was awkward to me. Also, certain things gave me the ick in this.
-The MMC calling the FMC baby and little girl constantly.
-FMC's near constant use of "sweet baby Jesus".
-The way the FMC talked about sex workers.

The Baron’s Bride, book 6 in the Alien Mates Index, by Evangeline Anderson, has to be the best one in this series. Although books 1-5 have been already published, you don’t have to have read them to enjoy this one.
Our heroine Natalie Hale finds herself in the clutches of the Commercians, a race of 3-foot tall blue worms, who take women from Earth and make them available as mates to wealthy aliens. But the horrible alien who has purchased her soon abandons her on O’nagga Nine. The problem is the cold of this planet. It is so cold even the buildings are made of ice. Her mission is to find shelter or die. She ends up making money to pay for her shelter by selling her blood to the race of vampires who live on this planet.
Baron Vik’tor, our hero, is the richest person on the planet. He runs an import/export empire that spans this universe. Although he is half “off worlder” and half Braxian, he is accepted by the Naggarians because of his wealth and the power it brings. Natalie is a full “off worlder.”
When the two finally meet, the story takes off.
Sometimes I can guess the ending, but this one is so well written, so full of angst and hot sexual energy that Ms. Anderson had my complete attention until the very end. I loved this one! The Baron’s Bride is truly the best of the AMI series.

2.5⭐️ Pro: Black female main character written to have Black attributes and mannerisms and culture. Also voiced by a Black woman.
Con: The Black female has to be portrayed as a sex worker.
Con: The repeated use of the words “Sweet Baby Jesus” is CRINGE and the alien male lead calling her “Baby” and “Little Girl” is CRINGER
Con: For a world traveling self-made billionaire, the Baron is an idiot. Leaving his house guest alone with a male he knew was a rapist was DUMB.
Pro: I liked the epilogue.
Pro: WE get the POV of Rylee’s cousin, a fun little treat.
Overall, I was underwhelmed and a little bored but I didn’t wholly dislike the book. The first two books in the series is carrying a lot of weight as well as the POC rep.
Con: The Black female has to be portrayed as a sex worker.

This is more like 3.5 stars. I like this author's writing better than Ruby Dixon's. This one was alien Pretty Woman. I love me some sweet erotica with an HEA. FMC was dumped on a vampire planet whose people only like pure bloods. The MMC was a half-breed, but the richest guy in town. The only way for her to make money was to sell her blood. He swoops in and saves her.

I read up to chapter 41 but I struggled to even get that far.
The writing isn't that good and while parts of the plot did have potential, the author smashed together so much that it didn't feel satisfying.
I did like story line of the heroine being a "blood whore" that only sold her blood to survive and the hero finding/saving her from bad guys. But the next storyline about the different planet? What the hell was that?
The quality of the writing also dropped as the book went on. And the use of "little girl" as an endearment term made me cringe every single time (and the H used it often unfortunately).
I read up to chapter 41 but I struggled to even get that far.

This was pretty boring. Not much spice. The book before this is the only other I have read in this series and that one was scorching 🥵 hot! This one eh. The h was so annoying. I actually have zero good things to say about her. She literally took the H for anything and everything she knew he would do for her. She wasn’t going to stay with him, because she had an idea of how her life should be, but was willing to use his name, protection, money, warmth- literally anything to keep her safe and protected- with no thought of how it would effect him. It just made me really dislike her. One of the worst heroines I’ve ever read

I really liked the concept of this book (alien cinderella story w/vampire overtones) - but it just fell kinda flat for me. The main characters didn't have a lot of chemistry and the first and second half of the books felt like two totally unrelated storylines. I think there are many better alien romances (including from this same author!) to spend your time with.

I admit I really struggled with this, the first half is just a lot of her being a “blood whore” with a pimp that cuts off faces and living in a literal hole which… was just a lot.
The second half did kind of remind me of the start of the series that I loved so much but still the writing was a little lacking and repetitive and I found myself making a face every time the male lead calls the heroine “little girl” (which is so much btw)
Also a few other things bothered me

1) Barrons associate tried to SA heroine but Barron keeps him around a while because.. hmmm who do i believe the woman I literally met because she was running for her life from this guy or the loser guy in question i have known for 2 years who I know cheats on his wife
2) there’s all this talk about how he’s the richest man on the planet so why does he care about the suffering of this girl and the answer is never like “because I have basic empathy and goodness” it’s just like “idk??? I think you’re hot I guess”
3) Elon musk reference, like i know this was written a few years ago but oof girl I wish I had not heard that name right now while I’m trying to escape reality
4) so they leave the ice planet and just go travelling and … it bothers me that this super rich guy and his new lady that was treated horribly as a “blood whore” because of the society’s rules and stuff didn’t try and use all that money to try and help the other women in that position but hey I guess he was compared to Elon musk for a reason lol
5) he’s meant to be like a badass but he’s so pressed about things being awkward like he doesn’t want to travel or pay for blood because asking would be awkward and like listen I get it socially anxious king but it literally contradicts the rest of your persona, please pick a personality lane

September 26, 2022The Alien Mate Index was one of the first SFR series I really enjoyed (books 1-4). It’s been years since I read the first 4 books so I can’t remember them in great detail but I’m shocked at how much I did not enjoy this book even though the blurb was interesting. I didn’t read the previous book as the D/s pet trope didn’t appeal.
The FMC is bordering on TSTL. I don’t understand why she didn’t think she’d be better off leaving with the human woman from the previous book when she offered her a ride off the plant O’nagga Nine. No, instead she decides to stay on an ice rock planet where she sells herself and has a violent drug-addicted pimp who has already horrifically attacked and deformed another “blood whore” who works under his “protection” - all so he can take 75% of her earnings. Why would she stay under those conditions?
The MMC calls the FMC little girl 🤢 and baby after knowing her for all of a few hours. I think “little one” (the MMCs term for the FMC in the previous book) is cute, but little GIRL is major ick for me. I hate when MMCs use “baby” too early in the relationship, it feels awkward and out of place to me, especially when it’s in a sci-fi romance with an alien MMC. There must be some cute Braxian/Naggian endearment he could call her, but no, apparently baby is as unique as it gets.

4.00 Stars. (BW/Pale horned hybrid Alien). The heroine, Natalie Hale, is a 25+-year-old Black woman who had been studying for her Doctorate Degree in Sociology when she was transported through a mirror to an alien planet and left to fend for herself because her visionary gift had not manifested. Because the beings on this planet are vampiric and require regular small amounts of blood, Natalie sells her blood to support herself. She is known as a Blood Whore and has a mean alien as a pimp. The hero, Baron Vik'tor, is the richest most powerful man on Planet O'Nagga Nine; but because he is mixed race, half vampire and half Braxian, he looks and behaves differently than other aliens from this planet...he towers over most beings on this planet, he has curved horns, blue tattoos, a violent temper and will go berserk if his mate is endangered. Natalie and Vik'tor meet because Natalie uses Vik'tor's seal to get out of selling her body to an alien who turns out to be Vik'tor's second in command. The storyline is interesting and it is entertaining and fun watching this couple unite. Vik'tor didn't think he could bond a female and Natalie didn't think she could be sexually aroused not to mention having an orgasim. But they managed to do it all. Two things annoyed me: Vik'tor's constantly calling Natalie "little girl" and Natalie's constant refrain of, "sweet baby Jesus".

I loved reading the Baron and Natalie’s story. It’s a wonderful romance that brings together two beings that are made for each other. It’s a well written story and the characters are well detailed as is the storyline. The Baron made an appearance in the previous book and I knew then that his story would be one I would enjoy and it has not disappointed at all. There’s lots happening and the two meet after Natalie uses Vik’tor’s sigil in an attempt to stop someone attacking her. The sigil she found in a coat given to her by another human. Unfortunately she is being attacked by Vik’tor’s second in command, and he is not happy that he hasn’t got what he wanted. He tells Vik’tor but says he will deal with her the next day. She’s caught but manages to escape and she run straight into Vik’tor. He buys her services for a day and night to protect her but when he’s called away on seemingly urgent business, his second in command decides to get rid of her once and for all. She just hopes that Vik’tor doesn’t believe that she left willingly and manages to rescue her in time. There’s action, danger, some very spicy scenes and lots more in this story with a happily ever after ending. It’s a definite must read book that you won’t regret buying at all.

This is the third book I've read from and I'd say it's one of my favourites alongside "Finding His Goddess" that I had reviewed before this. I've really grown to really like the author's storytelling ways through the series. This one is a standalone too and that's great because at first I was kinda overwhelmed about where to start because the authors has written so many books(which is admirable in itself). But it turns out that it's okay to start from whichever book you want to and you'll still be thoroughly entertained and love the book.
At the beginning of the book the main character Natalie is kidnapped from Earth as the aliens who capture her think she has special powers but is soon discarded on a strange and frozen planet called O’nagga Nine. The planet is inhabited by vampire-like aliens and during her struggle to stay alive on the planet she crosses path with Vik’tor who is the main love interest. The story then revolves around Natalie's struggle to return tp earth, her attraction towards Vik’tor and also some more major events(I don't want to spoil anything). So yeah I'd say it was a fun read!

A riveting read wonderful characters and robust scenario that will engage you totally
Natalie Hale was picked up from her life and dumped on to a planet where there is simply no way to survive without quite literally having to sell a small amount of yourself to survive, she has been selling her blood which is something the local inhabitants seem to relish.
Baron Vik’tor is the richest, most influential man on the planet who is a half breed mix with a very commanding presence, he cares for Natalie and will not stand for anyone causing her harm. She is not fully aware but no one that one to continue to live messes with him if they have any sense.
This is a great read you will love the character interactions; they will keep you on your toes throughout the book I guarantee.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I kind a loved this one. I mean, I’ve been a huge fan of the AMI from the beginning, but this one may be my favorite.
Undeniably Vik’tor was a great character, dependable and righteous. Really, his name is simply perfect for him. His interactions with his servants speaks volumes as does his handling of Ass Licks (this had me cracking up because that’s how I was saying his name in my head too lol)
Natalie was quite the warrior herself, staying vigilant and resourceful on a scary planet all by herself. Even tho she hates it there, I like that she took time to try and make her “bolt hole” homey, as to not get to down.
I can’t help but note there was quite a contrast to the previous book. Not near as much sex and much more story. I actually preferred it. Especially the astounding change in the peoples of Tangella. Without spoiling anything, it was thoroughly enjoyable to see their differences individually, then after. Fantastic really.
I hope EA gives us more AMI as I am truly enamored with this world.

The Baron’s Bride is the latest installment from Evangeline Anderson’s Alien Index 6 series. In this story we get to gain further insight on Natalie Hale Vik’tor whom we met in the previous book.
Natalie Hale is a human living on O’nagga Nine after being abandoned there from her kidnapper. O’nagga Nine is cold and its inhabitants are like vampires where they need blood to survive. Natalie doesnt have a choice in selling her blood to the local O’nagga Nine residents if she wants to eat and have a place to live. She doesn’t have much, scarcely surviving at all but in a rare twist of fate her life is changed in a single moment when she meets Vik’tor.
Vik’tor is half Braxian so although he requires blood to survive does not need it as much as the true inhabitants of O’nagga Nine. Vik’tor also happens to be the most important and wealthiest beings on the planet. Once he notices Natalie the story starts to unfold significantly.

Iam enjoyed reading 📚this book very much. I found they seemed to be a lot to take in your head and learn from Evangeline this time around and I liked this idea half way through the book. I liked the sex scenes and the characters names and liked the 💡idea that in this book that Evangeline had included more flying ships into this book. I felt like after reading 📚this book I wanted a shop and I never felt like th before about the flying ship's.😀 I liked the tile too. I had and awakard time with Amazon trying to the book because I lost my Amazon kindle app soon after my hip option in hospital which I a vice you not to do because the Amazon people that you can talk to through a phone call weren't very helpful either too me, I was not very well and not very happy and I found out that the new way but books 📚 through Amazon was not helping me either and I was having a awaked time with that too. I vice you not to get in that problem too. I look forward to reading 📚 more books 📚 of Evangeline Anderson of the The Baron brides series and I was finding reading this book I couldn't but the book down. I liked the mains characters names very much

Readers first met Natalie in The Overlord’s Pet, and now we get to find out what happened to her after she is dumped on O’nagga Nine. This story is a great addition to the series.
Vik’tor is the richest businessman on O’nagga Nine and he takes an instant liking to Natalie. Natalie is wary but grateful to not be freezing and starving. Their attraction and chemistry together are like a runaway train, and their journey is fraught with dangerous obstacles. Natalie and Vik’tor’s relationship grew stronger with each obstacle they circumvented.
The Baron’s Bride brings in some past characters from other Alien Mate Index books. This story sews up most of the loose ends, character’s futures and of course Evangeline Anderson leaves us with a happily-for-now ending. Evangeline Anderson left a way to come back and play in this series.

Alien vampire/human, rich male/poor female romance
Natalie, the female human lead, was abducted from earth and abandoned on an ice planet populated with vampires. Surviving by selling her blood, she ends up appearing before Vik’tor, the male alien lead. Drawn to each other, they must overcome the barriers, both physical and mental, stopping them from joining permanently.
This story is dual POV, well written, and a great addition to the series. I enjoyed Natalie’s perseverance and appreciated her care for her family. I enjoyed Vik’tor’s emotionality in a land known for having none and his care for Natalie. I enjoyed their intimate interactions and the family reunion for Natalie, as well as the integration of other secondary characters. I’m really enjoying this series and hope the author writes more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m so so thrilled we got Natalie’s story. I love how Evangeline really sets up the couple in the next books. She does a phenomenal job at making you crave the next installment! Vik’tor was delightful and I very much loved the bonus romance we received a sneak peak about! One trope that always makes it difficult for me to get invested is the “I guess we have to have intimate relations” trope. Most of the time it just causes me to roll my eyes and push past the illogical plot point. However, Evangeline Anderson does an excellent job at writing those scenarios in a way that makes the story flow more naturally. She also does a beautiful job of throwing in some realistic emotional conflict and humor. I just love it! I may have to take on her dozens of other books now, wish me luck!!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I hope this is not the last book in this series.
So glad that Natalie got her own story. We met Natalie briefly in the previous book in this series - The Overlord's Pet. Natalie has been living the last 6 months on a frozen planet, just trying day by day to survive. It is a difficult life. Then she meets Baron Vik'tor and her life changes. Or so she thinks. But jealousy comes in many forms and in this case it comes in the right hand man of the Baron's. This is fast moving story. It is full of action, intrigue and every time you think it is over, it continues. It was a a very good story line with great characters. I loved it. I just hope this is not the last of the series. Well done.

Barons Bride
Liked how the author draws you in almost right away. I like the sex scenes as much as the next person,but I think there could be a couple less. Ok, maybe not. They are tastefully done & who doesn't like to be so drawn in to the plot. I've read the first 3 & now I'm going to read 4 & 5.
I told both my sister & my cousin about the series. I hope they get as much enjoyment out of them as I have.
They could be longer & its a good idea to have brides from the 11 peoples interact with the 12th people of earth. Here's hoping Ms. Evangeline Anderson doesn't get tired of the series & as so many authors do not really finish some of the series but move on to other works. I do continue to follow them,but hope this series stays fresh with each new book.

I so enjoyed getting to know Vik'tor better, after having met him in The Overlord's Pet.
Natalie's experiences were so hard to read but showed what a tough chick she had to be. She was amazing taking care of herself. Well matched with Vik'tor.
So much went on that I won't divulge because it would ruin the flow and experience for the reader.
Just know that there wasn't a point in this book where I wasn't riveted.
In this story there is SO much heat and love..between Vik'tor and Natalie. There is also danger, a few MAJOR AH's, a reunion and.....ok that's enough I think.
Buckle up people, you are in for a fantastic ride!

I was so excited to see that Eli's help to Natalie from the previous book connected her with the Baron. I loved their immediate connection not only with the chemistry but an understanding of each other and what they've gone through. I really enjoyed seeing Natalie's story and what she had to do to survive. How her spirit never broke. The Barons loneliness was so palpable. He was always surrounded by others but never felt a connection or seen until Natalie. The story was so good. I loved all of the authors books but this was one definitely near the top. I especially love the surprise reunion at the end.

Definitely saved the best for last!!
I enjoyed this book!! And loved watching the female lead come from our ahead...from a potentially spirit shattering existence since she had been abandoned on a freezing cold planet. But she never lost her spirit, although she was almost at the end and feeling so lonely and amidst feeling hopeless. ..when she accidentally meets the Baron...who is actually struggling with his own feelings of loneliness and not quite being accepted.
They both go through many ups and downs...with many villains trying to keep them apart.
But of course in the end there was a happily ever after...with many orgasms.

No virgins. No femdom. But I like this series so I read it.
It was good.
What I didn’t like, which is popular in a lot of her books, is he calls her “little girl”, like, all the time.
Yuck.
And there is a plot device that seems to be in all of her books lately.. they are hot for each other and want each other but apparently aren’t mature enough to express these feelings. But “luckily” they end up on a foreign planet where they are forced to bang.
This is an outlandish enough premise, but, to be in the last like… 15 books of hers? Can we move on to people banging because they want to?

This book takes up the story of the human encountered on the world of O'Nagga Nine that was first encountered in book 5 of the Alien Mate Index series. We get to see what happens to Natalie after she refuses the help of Ellie (aka Little One) and Baron Vik'tor has to come to her rescue. There is action, intrigue, duplicity, biting.....lots of biting, and so much more as Natalie and Vik'tor battle to stay together while multiple factors are working to tear them apart.
