Heartstopper: Become Human is a cute Heartstopper AU set in the Detroit: Become Human universe. I’ve never played the game, but I really enjoyed this comic. It was really sweet and there were some really beautiful quotes in here, especially from Nick.
2.75⭐(book 14/25 - 2025) I adore Nick and Charlie, but this was kind of dull. It didn't give me what I wanted; I just wanted something cute—I think I'll be giving "Heartstopper" a reread soon.
Heartstopper: Become Human – Softness in a World Built on Steel
Something incredible happens when Heartstopper meets the world of Detroit: Become Human. This AU isn’t just a fun reimagining — it’s a deep emotional experience that preserves the heart of the original while placing it in a new, high-tech, and often harsh reality.
Nick is an android, Charlie is human, and yet their bond blossoms with the same gentle, fragile beauty. The story skillfully explores identity, freedom, trust, and of course, love.
Despite the change in setting and genre, the characters remain true to themselves — Charlie is still kind, brave, and full of heart. Nick is reserved, complex, and quietly searching for meaning. And their dynamic? It’s still that Heartstopper magic — only now wrapped in neon, danger, and the question: can a machine truly feel?
This AU doesn’t just work — it breaks expectations and proves that these characters can exist in any universe and still be real, beloved, and alive.
I fell in love with this version of their story. And now, it lives in my heart right next to canon.
This was made in to be based on a video game. Alice stated it took her a year to make since it is much longer than the other mini comics and she wrote it alongside other projects
- Charlie is a detective and Nick is an android - We see a number of choices as if it is a choose your own adventure - Nick can scan people and get a full diagnostic - charlie still has a bit of an eating disorder - Nick touches charlie and his system becomes unstable - Charlie was attacked months ago by a rogue android. Thus the trust issues - case charlie has been working on was taken over because he is too close to the suspect - charlie thinks he can reason with the ben-droid - ben turned deviant because he became aware of feelings - Nick becomes deviant and could have destroyed ben but he let him go - Charlie told nick to leave so the police won’t hurt him for being deviant - Charlie is granted a leave from work. - Nick eventually finds his way back to Charlie - MAKE OUT!!

"I like to think we would find each other in every universe" 😭❤️🩹
heartstopper x detroit become human AU
ok I must admit that I am not a great expert in video games but here you don't need to be to understand and appreciate the story because everything is explained in a clear and simple way
Charlie is a grumpy detective and Nick is his android police partner. I really liked how the characters of Tara and Darcy were included but I loved how Ben also had a fundamental role in the story as villains and everything linked back to the main heartstopper universe (and Nellie!!)
this is a longer comic and omg i loved every single thing about it; how the ed is portrait and how nick helps charlie in this, charlie fighting against his trust issues (due to his past) and nick starting to feel human emotion 🫂
literally everything is beautiful, i didn't know i needed this but now I can't stop thinking about it🤍
this is one of the cutest AUs i have ever read. it's also one if my top two favourite minicomics by Alice (flower shop is the other one)!!!
"I've been wearing a hat!" *cue heart breaking*
"I like to think we would find each other in any universe." *cue heart mending*
I love how pure these two are (even when one of them is an android, but you know). nick and charlie are my two favourite characters in the entire universe.
So I wanted to thank you, Alice.
Thank you for Nick. Thank you for Charlie. Thank you for Tori. Thank you for Angel/Fereshteh. Thank you for Aled, Daniel and Frances. Thank you for Raine and Becky. Thank you for Elle. Thank you for Tao. Thank you for Darcy. Thank you for Tara. Thank you for Mr Ajayi and Mr Farouk. Thank you for creating the universe that all of us needed.
