The crew is worried that social media influencers might come to town and cause a ruckus, as they often do, and it turns out their fears are warranted as influencers flood in looking for free product under the guise of collaboration.

Maggie makes a deal with an influencer, and when they turn up dead, there’s a flood of negativity aimed right at Maggie and her shops.

With way more than social media to worry about, Maggie sets out to uncover the truth about the murdered influencer.

Why are these sooo short?! I adore this entire series, every single book. I just wish each book was at least 150 pages. Sigh. That’s ok. This book was published earlier this month, but I read several other books while waiting for a bunch to read at once. 😁 At this time there were 4 waiting for me to get to! YAS!

This one was about an influencer named Daphne who collaborated with Maggie in order to bring more business into the donut shop and to put some money into Daphne’s pocket, too. Unfortunately, that opened a can of worms and brought several other influencers into the donut shop, but those people weren’t good businessmen - they simply wanted free products. They were all turned down by Maggie and Ruby and Orson even had to toss some out on their patooties. Last words by those people were, “You’ll be sorry.” Something like that.

Sadly, Daphne dies. That stinks! I liked her character. Now Maggie and Ruby feel their duty is to find the killer. And they do. 👍🏼

Orson closed this book by replying to Myra when she told him he’s not old. Orson stated, “Besides, things don’t start getting good until you’re a little over the hill.”

Next is Book 39, To Have and to Holed

It was sad that a genuinely nice person had to be the victim, but I loved how Maggie dealt out a dose of justice to that person’s killer. Orson was in rare form dealing with the deluge of influencers that swarmed into their town. He always cracks me up! He’s definitely a one-man security force.

The reveal and “gotcha” moment was pretty awesome and resulted in justice for the poor victim. Can’t wait to see what this amazing group of friends gets into next.

A really good book

Another great book in this series. What should have been good for the local economy turns deadly instead. Maggie & Ruby just met what they hoped might be a new friend and someone to partner with for a great idea for the shop. She dies in a most unexpected way. The girls go their best to figure things out. Highly recommend.

Dogwood becomes a photogenic hotspot, Maggie ends up making a deal with an influencer to promote her business. But it seems the influencer has made some enemies and is found dead. Maggie will have more than just promotion and photos on her plate in this delightful cozy.

Another fun story in the series

The donut shop enters into a collaboration with an influencer to promote the shop and a special donut. Things start out well and sales are up. Then the influencer dies at a nearby petting zoo. They jump into trying to solve the murder. A fun read.
