My friend recommended this book to me, this is the first time I read a campus romance. In fact, I was originally a person who preferred to watch the theme of werewolves, but I think Bully Roommate is surprisingly good-reading, probably because the theme of enemies to love makes the usual plain campus story ups and downs. It's really interesting to see people who are fighting with each other come together.

They way she just totally forgot that he bullied the minute he stole her first kiss 😒✋

Tho I feel like he really owned up to what he did but I’m still a little bit upset about how quickly they got together 😔I wanted more angst and I needed him to suffer a bit longer. Also getting reminded that maverick is experienced and Josie wasn’t got on my frkin nerves ughhh 🤡🤡🤡

No one can refuse Maverick, the male number one in this book. I know he left a bad influence on the heroine in high school, but there are indeed some misunderstandings, come on, such a machismo character is cute!

Storyline – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The story follows the FMC whose original college roommate plans fall through. By chance, she meets someone at a café looking for a roommate, only to discover she'll be sharing a space with him and his friend—who just so happens to be her high school bully.

The plot explores how both the FMC and MMC confront their shared past and the emotional baggage tied to their families. As they navigate their new living situation, old wounds resurface, and the past comes back in unexpected ways.

Writing – ⭐️⭐️.5
The writing has potential, but it's weighed down by frequent grammar and spelling issues (e.g., "drug" instead of "drag"). That said, if you can look past these errors, the core story is still compelling. It’s clear this started as a Wattpad project, and while it could use a solid edit, the foundation is strong.

Characters – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The characters truly shine. The chemistry between the FMC and MMC is believable and engaging. The MMC acknowledges his past mistakes and takes real steps to change and treat her with the respect she deserves. Their growth felt genuine and satisfying.

Overall – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
Despite the flaws in writing, the engaging storyline and lovable characters more than make up for it. Plus, the twist near the end completely caught me off guard—in the best way.

When you read this in the second paragraph of the first chapter: "Tomorrow started my first day..." you should already know what to expect.

I can't with the manwhore bully and the virgin girl. Him demanding that she is untouched while he has run through all the girls. He bullied her mentally and hurt her physically. He didn’t even grovel
for what he did. How can anyone call this romance?!

Josie was a two-timing dumbass. Kissing King and then Maverick right after. Wtf was I reading ☠️?

"How could she look at me and see anything other than a monster?"

Dumbass? Double check:

I painted my bully as my boyfriend/lover. I'm also not going to tell you why, it's personal.

lmfao, pretty sure that's not how art works.

Bipolar female? Triple check: saying no and pushing him away only to throw herself at him right after before even blinking.

I hated all the characters, no exceptions (they were either toxic, dumb, immature or lame).

The last part of the book took a whole new turn with new tropes but still in that same small world.

The reason why he bullied her was the dumbest thing ever. If he had such a big problem with her saving him from his suicidal self he could have just killed himself after. No need to make someone else's life hell because you don't like yours!

To make it all worse, the bully turned into a hero. He needed to redeem himself someway, right?
The good guy ofcourse needed to turn into the bad guy, because how else are we going to hate him, right?
Then there is Derek, wtf was that all about. He was the pimp of Maverick's mom, an art professor, an art gallery owner, a drug dealer and he also had a trafficking ring because teachers don't get paid well?! Exaggerate much!
Author also randomly threw in there that he was the police. No idea where that came from, other than to further exaggerate this dumb plot.
