INTO THE DREAD VOID (Book 1):

A new family. A new beginning. A nightmare she never saw coming.

Spending the weekend with her new foster family at their lakeside cabin, fourteen-year-old Nell has no idea it's something preying on campers in the mountain wilderness. Nor does she know that the secret she keeps – an unusual gift she’s possessed all her life – could be the key to her family's survival.

Not long after arriving at their idyllic getaway, an unexpected storm blows in. Nell and her family retreat indoors until nightfall. Then, from the rain-drenched woods beyond their cabin, an unspeakable evil emerges...

A nightmare in the flesh.

AMID THE SINKING DARK (Book 2):

"You can't save everyone. Not even close."

Robbed of her only chance at a normal life, Nell Parrish now finds herself in a strange new home where darkness and mysteries abound. Plagued with dreams of the night which brought her here, she's desperate for any distraction. Anything to forget the loss she can't undo...

So when Hux asks for Nell's help, she's eager to be of use. Investigating a new otherworldly disturbance, Hux believes Nell's unique gift might prove useful in getting to the bottom of the mystery. He assures her it'll be quick – in and out, nothing dangerous on her part.

But otherworldly matters rarely go as planned. Before she knows it, Nell finds herself stranded in the stormy seaside town of Brightport, where she comes face to face with a new breed of horror altogether.

BEYOND THE PHANTOM GLOW (Book 3):

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust...

Reunited with her best friend, settling into their new home, Nell Parrish has sworn off all matters of the supernatural, hoping to put the horrors of the past behind her.

Except the supernatural has a way of finding her, doesn't it?

Something wicked has come to Marrow Falls -- a malevolent force preying on the town's most vulnerable. When Tessie's friends and neighbors come looking for help and answers, Nell can't help but get roped into the dark mystery, and soon finds herself in the throes of yet another great and ancient evil.

Great Series!!

This series of books is a single thread that weaves through what is known as Cosmic Horror.
There is a connection between a guy named Hux, who is no longer human, and an orphan named Nell that seems to have secrets of her own, even from herself.
This connection is made up of the Void. The Void calls Hux whenever it needs him to balance an event, and Nell is usually called by the Void while dreaming.
Each book in the series tells a story about certain Cosmic forces that see us as insignificant and how the Void comes into play to counter those forces and their pawns in a very unseen war that most people are not even aware of.
Highly recommend!!

Void

Nell thinks she has a new family. That everything is going to be better. Lights in the sky lead to an encounter with something. A man named Hux saves her but is he human. A fascinating thrill ride. With awesome characters and full of thrills.

Just finished reading "Beyond the Phantom Glow," book three in the Dread Void series of books by Abe Moss. He's at his very best in this book and, at times, reminds of the written mastery of Dean Koontz.
