West Greene is a romance author that specializes in short, steamy books and erotic shorts.
All your instalove needs can be found in one of her books, whether you're looking for possessive men, men with no morals, spicy FF romance, a boy just needing his Daddy, a twink just needing love, or even the other woman to get her HEA.
West Greene refuses to be stuck in one trope or type of romance. She loves variety, and she's definitely going to share that variety with her readers.
In a way this was easy romance. Love so pure I got butterflies reading but the love between Logan, Ezra and Spencer was tested in a way with Logan having the worst home life ever and by the stars it broke my heart. But it’s was beautiful And the father figure that Jaxon become to Logan? The fact that Jaxon is getting a book? I need it rn!
Ugh... wtf did I read?... I wanted to read sth trashy and I guess I kind of found what I was looking for but this is a really low level wattpad story. High school boys, get obsessed with the nerd at first sight. 2 of them have bad history, but resolve it immidiately. And I was dumb to skip trigger warnings, because it had a descriptive SA scene with also descriptions of the aftermath. The writing is not good so it wasnt very traumatic to read, but still disturbing nonetheless.
Everything is cringy and weird. Their words for each other, story, even SA storyline. It felt like author just wanted to make it look like they are writing a book about a serious issue so people would be affected, but neither writing, nor the story, nor the chacters were equiped to deal with a serious issue. 2 of the guys were also obsessed with the fact that the 3rd one's dad was hot. Honestly, I thought they should ditch Spenser and get the dad as a third😅 Unless you want to read a weird high school wattpad story, no need to waste time.
I love a good premise. These three boys being thrown together because 2 need tutoring. It is a little off putting to know that this is a high school romance. But what’s worse is that these three have barely spent any time together on page and yet two boys are stalker-level obsessed with the nerd? It’s lazy writing. Sloppy writing. A shame because it could have been a great story.
"Nerdy Boy" dives into the tumultuous waters of high school rivalries, secret crushes, and unexpected love triangles with a fresh and engaging narrative. The story is built around Logan and Ezra, two students who share a bitter history and intense dislike for one another, yet find themselves unwittingly bonded over their mutual affection for Spencer, a nerdy and charming new tutor.
The novel starts with a compelling hook—Logan’s past love confession gone wrong, which sets the stage for years of animosity. This backstory is crucial as it adds depth to the characters’ current conflicts and the emotional stakes involved. The arrival of Spencer acts as a catalyst, bringing a new dynamic to the strained relationship between Logan and Ezra.
The character of Spencer is well-crafted, serving as more than just a plot device. His role as a tutor and mediator introduces themes of reconciliation and understanding. His ability to command respect and enforce a truce between Logan and Ezra is one of the highlights of the story, offering both humor and heart in equal measure.
The development of the relationship between the three characters is handled with care and sensitivity. The author skillfully navigates the complex emotions and evolving dynamics, creating believable and heartfelt interactions. The truce that Logan and Ezra agree to is initially fraught with tension, but as the story progresses, it morphs into a deeper connection that challenges their preconceived notions about each other and themselves.
One of the strengths of this book is its exploration of themes such as identity, forgiveness, and the complexities of love and friendship. The narrative does not shy away from dealing with the consequences of past actions and the difficulties of overcoming personal prejudices and insecurities.
However, the book also balances these heavier themes with light-hearted moments and a strong sense of camaraderie that emerges among the trio. The dialogue is sharp and witty, capturing the authentic voices of teenagers grappling with intense feelings and significant life decisions.
"Nerdy Boy" excels in creating a compelling love triangle that is as unconventional as it is unpredictable. The resolution of the trio's relationship is satisfying, avoiding clichéd outcomes and instead presenting a nuanced view of how people can grow and change through their interactions with others.
Overall, "Nerdy Boy" is a heartfelt and engaging read that offers a thoughtful take on young love and rivalry. It's a testament to the idea that even the most unlikely relationships can lead to profound transformations, making it a recommended read for those who enjoy contemporary young adult romance with emotional depth and character-driven storytelling.
4 stars This was interesting, a little bit different from other West Greene's books. Spencer lost his mum and he and his dad moved to another State to have a fresh start. Spencer, out and proud, is a nerd, he's very smart and he starts his senior year in a new high school hoping to not be bullied like it happened in his old one. He's asked to tutor another student in math and when they met, they're immediately attracted to each other. Ezra is a football player, he's bi and out, and he's the one-night-stand kind of guy. After a few days, another tutor is assigned to Spencer: Logan, dark, broody and loner. Logan has never really connected with everyone but he's strongly drawn to Spencer.
Ezra and Logan had a troubled past: Logan had a crush on him and accidentally outed him, Ezra reciprocated but he wasn't ready to be out and he beated Logan. Anyway, they agree on a truce to prevent Spencer from having to choose between them. Up to this point is all insta attraction/love between them.
The second part is very different, painful and hurting: one of them is horribly raped and the three of them have to deal with the emotional and physical consequences of the abuse. I skipped the graphic descritpion of the SA, but it was obvious it was awful. The part when one of the boyfriends goes to look for the other and find him hurt had me in tears. There are a lot of different emotions involved: the victim feels guilty and stupid for having put himself in that situation; their boyfriends feel guily too because they didn't protect him nor they understood he was in danger at home. Everyone has to learn how to handle intimacy again: it's obviously not easy for the one who was assaulted, but neither for his partners who struggle to help him. It was a painful journey, but it was very well written.
I loved Jaxon, Spencer's father, because he becomes a dad for them all and he does everything to help them keep going with their lives. The part where just two of them move away from college was unexpected, but it was appropriate and I'm glad the author made this choice.
What prevented me from giving a higher rate: I feel like the final part (the separation) was too rushed, I would have like to know more about that period.
Jaxon will have his own story too and I really really hope will be a bi awakening and also that we could see Spencer, Ezra and Logan again.
This was unexpectedly good. I may have cried a little. It starts off as a cute little romance between one nerdy boy and two other guys that hate each other. Sign me up.
What I didn't sign up for was the emotional devastation that follows.
SPOILERS:
There is a fairly graphic rape scene that happens, and it's very distressing. I cried. I put the book down for a minute. It was handled well, and with care. It didn't feel gratuitous, which I was thankful for.
I wish this had been a trilogy. It only being one book made it feel a bit rushed, and I would have loved all of these characters to have more time together to grow, work out their dynamics and most importantly work on healing.
So as much as I liked this book, I really wish there was more! Spencer's character could have been fleshed out a lot more I think.
Overall, super cute. Loved the dynamics. Loved the emphasis on therapy after trauma. Would have loved more.
This was a great but tough read. The last few chapters nearly destroyed me. I just want to wrap them all up, Logan especially, and love them. Logan and Ezra were once friends turned enemies. It took the sweet, adorable Spencer to bring these two together again. The love that these three have for each other may not be understood by most but who cares, it’s works for them.
Side note, gotta give credit to Spencer’s dad, Jaxon. This man opened not only his home but his heart to Logan and Ezra. The man, in my opinion, is a saint and I can’t wait for his book next. 🖤🔥✏️🔥🖤
My favorite quotes:
• Logan: “You never fail to surprise me, Spence. Are you telling me you’d be willing to say fuck what society deems proper and be with two guys? A lot of people might have something to say about that.”
• Ezra: I was hooked. So deep in him. Drowning. I never wanted to breathe again.
• Jaxon: “I don’t care that the three of you seem to be together,” he started, “but if either of you hurt my son, you’ll have me to deal with. Clear?”
• Spencer: Our relationship wasn’t normal to so many people, but it was normal for us. And we fit together like well-oiled parts. We worked.
• Logan: Finally, we were getting to start on the rest of our lives together. I didn’t know where we would be in a few years, but I did know one thing for certain.
Wherever we ended up, we would be together. Always.
I was never letting my guys go. Not ever fucking again.
BASICALLY PLOTLESS EROTICA WITH ONE TOO MANY CLICHÉS
If you just want instant three-way smut barely held up by an almost non-existent plot and told in a very young-adult or even young-teen way (which is fitting as the characters are all teen-ish), you’ll enjoy this. It’s cute but there’s not a whole lot of depth, and half the time it’s hard to take seriously because everything is overly simplified; something I would’ve expected from an erotica perhaps—which is what this feels like more—and not really a romance, because while there is romance (a very young teenager kind), the focus is really more on the sex and just fulfilling the throuple aspect.
I liked Spencer at first—which is the POV we start the story in, and I also liked Ezra but then the POVs got split between the three leads unevenly, favouring Logan the most, which threw me off (because it felt like Ezra and Spencer were relegated to just side characters), and Spencer’s own romance has hardly even started, much less had time to develop when we get shoved the Ezra and Logan angle and the focus stays on that, so yeah, it kind of felt like the whole story was just in a hurry to make them a threesome already. Then when Shelby started devolving into yet another stereotypical girl-bossy, in-your-face, and abusive “gay-guy female bestie” cliché, I lost whatever tepid enjoyment I was getting out of this, because I’m just so tired of this whole “girl bestie very obviously steering the plot to where the writer wants it to go” ploy that gets used over and over ad nauseam in almost every single MM romance story I read. Like, I swear I am getting gay-guy girl bestie fatigue at this point; don’t female besties have any other personalities, seriously? (And why is Shelby allowed to get physically aggressive with Spencer? Just because she’s a girl and he’s a guy? Flip the genders here and feminists would be frothing at the mouth if a guy bestie so much as put his hands on his girl bestie, much less actually get physically violent. So, no. That was definitely a turn off that decked a star or two from what would have been my originally intended rating.) DNF’d at 50%.

It was so dang good. Spencer is such a sweetheart of a guy, he is smart, caring, friendly and fierce when he needs to be. After his mother passed away, his dad and him move to a new town in a new state right before his senior year. There he meets Ezra, a football star who needs tutoring in math to stay on the football team. Ezra is playful, sweet and appears so happy even though an air of sadness clings to him. Then Spencer is asked to tutor Logan in English. Logan is the stereotypical bad boy, troublemaker from the wrong side of the tracks (described at one point as a Goth King and it fits!). Logan’s mom is a junkie with abusive boyfriends that make his home life hard. Logan and Ezra hate each other but they both want Spencer and that leads to some trouble. But Spencer doesn’t want to choose and it turns out that there is indeed a thin line between love and hate. These three guys together are absolutely perfect. They each are so incredibly sweet and possessive and sexy AF. The steamy scenes are hot. Their chemistry and love is off the charts. But this story isn’t full of rainbows and sunshine all the time. They have to navigate being in a triad in small town Tennessee, Logan’s home life and Ezra’s loneliness all while maintaining their school work and grades. Some sad stuff happens, truly heartbreaking. I was devastated for these boys and what they went through but watching them grow and become men was a beautiful thing. Jaxon is an inspiring parental figure, the only great parent among the bunch. He is everything these three boys needed and more. Strength and the guidance that a troubled youth needs and a lonely child that has been abandoned in favor of throwing money at it. Love truly heals deep wounds. The writing was fantastic. I always love a West Greene story. These three boys journey to becoming men and finding their love was heartwarming.
Wow what a book! I have got to say I found this book outstanding. Spencer who moved to a new school was asked to do some tutoring for some students that were struggling. And he found something so pure in them both. You have got Ezra, who, at first glance, you would think he has everything. Money flashy cars, big house, but really Ezra was lonely. His parents threw money at him instead of attention to him. And Logan, who has the worst upbringing ever with a mother that would prefer drugs over her son. So Logan has to act in a certain way to survive. Spencer is attracted to both of them and has always wondered what a polyamorous relationship would be like. But there’s a problem because Ezra and Logan have history. Logan sent Ezra a letter via his locker at school, telling him that he had a crush on him. Ezra Read it out to his friends because he didn’t feel that he could announce himself to be bisexual and him and his friends ended up beating up Logan. So of course we have this rivalry between Logan and Ezra. can they put the past behind them to have a relationship with Spencer ??? Could there be a chance that Logan and Ezra admit to their attraction to one another?? Oh my goodness, I thoroughly enjoyed this read I really enjoyed reading about Spencer, who is a nerd, turning these young men in a spin. There was something exciting about how they individually tease and flirted with Spencer. It was just a very beautiful read, but I will tell you now there are twists and turns and the biggest twist had me crying. And I have a massive shout out about Jaxon, who is Spencer’s dad. He has got to be the most understanding and supportive dad in the world and he really goes out there to support Logan. As Jaxon had the same upbringing as he thinks anything does. I’m just gonna tell you right now you will not be disappointed in this book. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

I strongly recommend heeding the CW's that the author provides at the beginning of this book. They are no joke. There is some rather tough material covered in this story. Some of it is very brutal.
Then there is the emotional part, which is also directly tied into the brutal parts. There were several chapters where I just cried my eyes out. I had to take several breaks to just get my emotions in control before I could move on. I kept going because I knew that this was a romance and that it had to have a happy ending, otherwise, I might not have been able to continue.
Then you have the love. These three men have on the strongest and most dedicated to one another loves that I've read in a story in a long time. And then Jaxon's love for his son and his boyfriends is just priceless. I was so excited when I got the end and realized that later this year that we get to have a book focused on Jaxon, which means that we'll see more of Logan, Ezra and Spencer.

This was my favourite West Greene book so far, but definitely check the trigger warnings, as some aspects were a very tough read.
I loved Spencer, Logan and Ezra, they were all different, had their own challenges, but once they got together, nothing would stop them from being there for each other, and they definitely dealt with some challenges, one aspect nearly wrecked me, but I am still glad I read their story.
Spencer's friend Shelby was awesome, loved her attitude and particularly her interactions with Logan.
I also really enjoyed the way Jaxon, Spencer's Dad accepted the relationship and supported all the boys, and especially becoming a Father like figure to Logan, despite Logan's resistance / attitude, super happy to see that Jaxon will get a book.

3+ The plusses: Care & love MMM romance Dad Jaxon as a stable adult/ parent fugure for all three 'boys' Character dvelopment of Spencer
The Mwah Character development of Logan The anomosity/ hostility between Ezra and Logan at the start The finishing up of the story, the paet where Logan has to be apart could have had one or more extra chapters Thr bonus scene ( extra downlaod) Too much spice, than again they are 18/19 years old Shelby, ride or die friend to Spencer ( and later the others as well)
The Minuses This is high school, did not feel like that in writing, characters felt much older in the way their relationship wormed and developed Character development of Ezra The SA of Logan, felt to me, put in for shock/ empathy factor and made no sense.
Trigger warning does apply. Do read the caution.

Most of this book was great. It was lower angst, good characterization, good spice (the author has clearly improved in this area since earlier books), it was a fun naughty story with a little more depth to the characters than the other books I have read recently by the author. Then it suddenly took a very dark turn. The author did their best to be sensitive and make it relevant to the story, but it just didn't fit in this otherwise light and sexy story. Also, something that dark needs more time dedicated to it. I think this is just a case of an author who needs to realize where their books are and not trying to push beyond that. West Greene excels at writing naughty and sweet romances that can be read quickly and easily, and this would have been an excellent, definitely 5 star story, on that level if it wasn't for the big traumatic thing wedged in.
This was an absolutely cute romance. There is some angst but it definitely tends to be a lot of fluff and steamy moments.
Ezra is the quintessential bi-quarterback that owns his bi-ness and is able to back up himself if needed. Unfortunately to get there he had to be outed prematurely by Logan. A simple note destroying a friendship and crush in one moment. The two of them turning into oil and water until Spenser comes along.
Spencer is semi new to the school and gets tasked with tutoring the two of them without realizing their past and only seeing the attraction between himself and them. But how could he ever pick?
Jaxon is definitely a perfect parent that I would love to learn more about especially with his connection to Logan. He had no issues pretty much adopting the boy and it takes a special person to do that.
This was incredible. I definitely wasn't expecting that water works to happen, but holy shit. This book is so emotional, hot, and just overall amazing. Logan, Ezra, and Spencer make such a beautiful throuple. The banter in the beginning between all 3 of them, with Spencer not wanting to fall for the boys he's torturing, and Ezra and Logan not wanting to fall for each other because they're swarn enemies. The trauma and trauma healing about 75% of the way through the story reached deep down into my own trauma, and watching Ezra and Spencer love and care for Logan through everything he's going through touched a deep part in me.
💗Please, please read the triggers in the beginning, your mental health matters💗
I didn´t have a good time reading this book. The people in it did not feel real. Nothing was real.
And then, suddenly, something truly despicable happened and it got TOO real for what this book had been. I felt as if I was punched in the gut. I advise you to take the author´s trigger warnings seriously. I read them at the beginning of the novel and then forgot about them! I was lulled into a false sense of security. Which was probably my bad, but previous to that I wasn´t enjoying the story anyway.
This book was cute, and dark, and heartbreaking, and still had me kicking my feet. I love that Spencer stood his ground and wasn't going to let Ezra and Logan fight over him like a piece of meat, nor would he let them force him to choose. This was honestly a great example of how to write a tragedy and how it affects everyone involved, not just the victim. Logan went through so much, and Spencer's dad was really the person he needed, even when he didn't want his help. Fast paced and spicy, this book was a delight. Still never going to forgive you for the emotional damage!
West Greene is one of my favorite authors when it comes to MM/MMM. She can bring the heat! The spice is so good. I am so obsessed with Ezra, Logan and Spencer. Their relationship is spicy and sweet. There is insta-love/lust when it comes to the guys with Spencer, as well as enemies to lovers for Logan and Ezra. I also really loved Spencer’s Dad - he was just the best, I can’t wait for his book. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a spicy MMM romance.
*Please read the triggers. There is on page rape & abuse towards one of the MCs. Your mental health matters.
Spencer has just started at a new school when he catches the eye of jock Ezra and bad boy Logan. Can these three make it work, especially with the bad blood between Ezra and Logan? This story is wrenching - if there’s ever a time to read and seriously evaluate the trigger warnings, it’s with this one, since the event is explicit, detailed and integral to the second half of the story. That said, I loved these three before the event, and afterwards, I was moved by how they got through it. A emotional and fully fleshed out read.
i didn’t hate this but….geez it gave me whiplash…everything happened so fast in the beginning and middle and it was starting to kind of slow down and then it was over..
i do feel bad for logan nobody deserves to go through that. i would’ve also liked to dive more into ezra’s background more too
i was surprised to see that the next book is about spencer’s father…i wonder who will be his interest…he definitely gave dom vibes so we shall see
I was so excited for this book. I heard it was really good not gonna lie was a little disappointed felt like a lot of details were skin throw, and the book was a little rushed. Going to read the second one but not as excited I knew the book was gonna be a letdown when the character so easily just decided to be in a relationship when two of the characters are supposed to have an issue that goes years back
I liked this story and really liked Spencer, Logan and Ezra together. Logan had been through so much in his life already and definitely didn’t deserve the horrific attack on him and how Spencer’s dad Jaxon looked after both Ezra and Logan and treated them as family. Looking forward to Jaxon’s book and hoping to see more of Logan, Spencer and Ezra. Well worth a read.
I swooned over Ezra, Logan, and Spencer. A jock, a nerd, and an emo boy. Ugh! So good. Definitely instalove, but the stuck together throughout. Logan’s story made me tear up. The spice shew! Not over the top but plenty of action. Definitely need to read more from this author.
A really fun read, don't expect much depth of characters but worth the read
The story feels rushed and like we lose the individuality of the characters once they end up together, but don't let that dissuade you. It's a fun read, reminds me of old fanfiction stories I used to binge at 4am in the best way
This was an absolutely adorable book. It had some darker stuff that happens but the relationship between the three, and between all three guys and Spencer's dad, is absolutely adorable. You laugh, tear up, and root for these guys. Especially Logan. Definitely a good read!
