Short quick read

It is not a bad introduction to a story and world. It lacks background details that helps you comprehend the paranormal in this world. The author could be building it up and merging it in context. My issue is that this is too short. I was expecting chapter 2 not book 2. Still a quick read that sparks a little curiosity.

This was great for a quick short story (it’s like 30 pgs) and start to a series. Going to read book one to see what happens.

The Gifted and Cursed by Melody Lynch is a captivating introduction to the Trinity Jones series, blending paranormal mystery, suspense, and urban fantasy. Trinity Jones, who can see and communicate with the dead, struggles to manage her gift which she considers more of a curse while navigating a world filled with witches, vampires, and werewolves. The story begins with Trinity’s arrest after a bar fight, leading to a spirit seeking her help on a case that challenges even the most experienced detective.

Though brief, this novella efficiently establishes an intriguing protagonist with relatable flaws and a unique perspective on her abilities. Lynch’s writing creates vivid, realistic characters and environments that draw readers into a richly imagined supernatural world. While some readers may find the story short, it effectively lays the groundwork for future installments, sparking curiosity about Trinity’s destiny and the paranormal forces at play.

This is a great start for fans of urban fantasy and paranormal mystery, offering a quick but engaging read filled with suspense and supernatural elements. Highly recommended for readers looking to discover a new series with strong female leads and a fresh take on the psychic paranormal genre.

3.5 stars ⭐️ great short story to give you a start to the series. It kept me interested from start to finish. Has me interested on the back story of the man character. This book acts as truly a taste introduction to this world. The main character gift is something she hates but can be helpful to solving great cases. I will be continuing the series because it left me intrigued.

I have a feeling that I'm going to love Trinity

This book is a great segue to prepare you for what to expect for the rest of the series. I love that it's mystery, paranormal, suspense, and urban all wrapped in one. Witches, vampires, werewolves, and a person that can speak to the dead??!!! Sign me up lol.

A quick supernatural mystery introducing Trinity, a woman haunted by spirits and alcoholism who helps solve violent cold cases. Though only around 30 pages, it still managed to deliver a dark emotional tone and an unsettling case involving a murdered little girl seeking justice. It felt more like a series introduction than a full story, but it definitely made me curious to see where Trinity’s journey goes next.

Great Intro to Trinity

Short but nice. Not a cliffhanger but a short story. It felt very real in the descriptions of people, behaviors and relationships so far and the FMC is interesting. I’m in for the next one

Cute

Okay Trinity!!!!! I loved this. The start of a new bad a$$ super hero. Trinity found herself in trouble but then her gift made room for her and got her a job offer.

Super cute and quick read.

Storyline

I would have like to have seen more development of the story. More world building. Just so I could know what happened to the main character in her earlier life and how her powers developed.

great start to the series

This was a great introduction to the series of short stories. My only complaint is that just when things started getting really good, the book ended! Now I’m headed straight to the second book because I need to see what Trinity gets into next.

The idea is good, but this felt really rushed and thrown together with logic that didn't always work. Still, this is just a prequel, I liked the characters (especially Trinity), and think that a full book in this series might be better.

The writing is good and I can tell the story is going in an interesting direction but the shortness of the book doesn't really allow for tension to build. Everything feels rushed.

Short and easy read, leaves you wanting to read the next one. Not a stand alone book, feels like the intro to a storty. So far enjoying it.

Errors were distracting

Great storytelling. Didn't want it to end. I might have given this four stars if it had been edited for typos, grammar, etc.

I'm totally invested and can't wait to watch her tackle different cases, all while being unaware that Marcel might actually be a vampire.

This was an interesting read. Although it’s not my current cup of tea, it think it’s a series that could grown one.
