Snowy Mountains Dawn

A diehard country girl. A city-boy newcomer. Some rules were meant to be broken... Opposites attract in this delightful rural romance, set in charming small-town Bundilla, from bestselling Australian author Alissa Callen

Horsewoman Brenna Lancaster has no time for relationships. Unless a man looks good on a horse and lets her call the shots, she isn't interested. She'd rather wear a dress and heels than give someone else power over her life.

Finance guru Wyatt Killian is a self-made man who has left the train wreck of his childhood behind. There is zero room in his workaholic world for downtime and distractions, let alone emotions or country girls.

When Wyatt's corporate horse-riding retreat is led by a woman determined to unplug him from his urban life, it isn't just his laser focus that becomes compromised. Being in a saddle unlocks a part of himself that he'd long ago discarded. In a rare moment of nostalgia, he prolongs his stay in the high country.

After Brenna becomes mired in a family secret that involves a historic feud and bushrangers, she has no choice but to involve Wyatt in the search for answers. But as Wyatt's past collides with his future, and the only home Brenna has known comes under threat, both must decide what they need to let go of and what is worth fighting for.

EXCERPT: Brenna sat a rose-pink velvet cushion on her lap and plucked at the tassels.
"So . . .' Hettie said, voice gentle.
'So . . . this attraction is going to be the death of me.'
'You kissed Wyatt.'
'Should I find it disturbing you don't sound surprised?'
Hettie laughed softly. 'You already said you're attracted to him, plus he isn't exactly ignoring you.'
'What do you mean?'
'The obvious thing, kissing involves two people, plus he watches you when he thinks you're not looking.'
'It's probably because he's thinking I can't believe she said that or wondering if I own a single shirt that's not pink.' She paused. 'We might have kissed but he himself said he's not right for me. The only explanation I can think of is that he believes the whole city-country thing won't work. City girls would be more his thing.'
'I'm not so sure of that. He's single, isn't he?'
'He says he does fine on his own.'
Hettie lifted her mug but not before Brenna saw a smile in her eyes. 'Point proven. That's not a conversation people have with each other if there's zero interest.'
'He was only saying what I said.'
'Taite likes him.'
Brenna groaned. 'Why will no one believe me when I say Wyatt and I could never be together? He meets none of my criteria.'
'Except for looking good on a horse.'
'I've taken that off,' Brenna grumbled. 'And I've added another one. I can't be with anyone who kisses like Wyatt does. 'I'd get no work done.'

ABOUT 'SNOWY MOUNTAINS DAWN': A diehard country girl.

MY THOUGHTS: Although Snowy Mountains Dawn is the 4th in the Bundilla Novels series, I had no problem connecting with the characters, whom I absolutely loved!

Brenna initially appears prickly, but her good nature soon shines through. She does have some pretty odd criteria for what she wants in a man though! She is warmhearted and provides homes for rescue animals. Wyatt is like a toasted marshmallow - all crisp and businesslike on the outside but with a gooey centre. I was rooting for these two from the start! I honestly don't know which of them was more stubborn! I laughed every time Brenna threatened to land Wyatt with four dogs, three cats, two alpacas and a ferret.

The setting is spectacular and the author makes the most of it. Her descriptions of the countryside had me feeling a little homesick. The characters are captivating. From the couple determined not to be a couple to the matchmaking ladies of the quilting club, my heart was warmed by their friendship and concern for one another. The animals all have characters of their own too - and there are a lot of animals! Bundy the kelpie dog, Monty the horse, and a goose that nests under the front steps of Brenna's house are some that particularly enchanted me.

And, as a bonus, there's a little mystery involving some coins, some letters and some ancestors to be solved!

If you are looking for an engrossing and charming rural romance with heart and wit - this is it!

I loved this read and am now determined to find the three earlier books in this series, and to read everything this author has written. I have found a new author to follow.

Wyatt Killian, finance hot shot from Sydney, had accompanied some of his staff to a horse riding retreat in the small town of Bundilla. Immediately Wyatt's past had risen up when he was in the saddle, and the nostalgia for the days he'd lived at his grandparents' farm was strong. Brenna Lancaster, owner of the property and leader of the retreat was a strong, independent woman who had no time for relationships. Her life was devoted to her rescue animals, and her farm showed that. And then Bundy arrived to be by her side...

Wyatt's truck tyre was damaged from the pot holes so he needed to remain in Bundilla for a few days while a replacement wheel was transported in from Sydney. Wyatt stayed at the local pub where he was welcomed with open arms by the owner Roy. It seemed that Roy remembered Wyatt from days in his childhood; days that Wyatt tried to forget. When Brenna discovered some old secrets which might have something to do with the long held feud between her family and the next door neighbours, and Roy talked about the bushrangers at his pub, Wyatt, Brenna and a couple of other sleuths dug deeply into the past. Would they discover the reason for the feud that had run for longer than she knew?

Snowy Mountains Dawn is the 4th in the Bundilla Novels series by Aussie author Alissa Callen and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bundy was back again, and joined by other four legged friends, even a couple of geese. Catching up with past characters was great, and there was plenty of Brenna's twin brother Taite in this one. All in all, an excellent addition to this addictive series. Highly recommended.

With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

Snowy Mountains Dawn is the fourth book in the Bundilla series and what a fabulous series it has been. Aussie author Alissa Callen is a talented author and this is rural fiction at its best. With well-written characters, and beautiful descriptive settings this author is fast becoming another favourite author of mine. Oh and let’s not forget all the animals that are included in her stories and of course, Bundy is my favourite. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Highly recommended.

I love this series so much and they just get better with every one, I didn’t want this one to end, Brenna has been a favourite of mine since the first book and she needed a special hero and Wyatt is perfect, but does he tick all of Brenna’s boxes?

Brenna Lancaster is a horsewoman and a good one, her trekking business and giving horse riding lessons takes up the majority of her time and of course family and friends, but as for a relationship she doesn’t have the time and if she did there is a list that, involves her being in control and that he can sit a horse well that the man must meet if there ever is one. When Bundy arrives to join the trek, with the corporate group Brenna is a bit worried especially when she meets Wyatt.

Wyatt Killian is a city man and a financial wizard, his childhood left a lot to be desired and work is everything to him, he doesn’t do emotions or hugging, when he takes the place of his best friend who has recently passed away on a trekking weekend in the high country, something changes, is it being back in the saddle after all of these years, lots of memories are resurfacing and when he needs to extend his stay, the walls around his heart are breaking down, is it because of Brenna?

It is not long before the quilting, match making ladies are doing their best to push Brenna and Wyatt together not to mention Bundy as well spending a lot of time with them both, add to that the rescue of a draft horse who teams up with a pony and a goose and then Brenna uncovers an old family secret linked to bushrangers and gold this investigation brings them even closer together and soon there is no denying the pull between them, will they both be able to put the past behind them and look to the future?

I loved this one so much the best so far for me, Brenna is a loving and caring person and Wyatt is just the same they suit each other so well of course catching up with the fabulous characters who live in Bundilla is always good and meeting Merlin and Angel the geese was fun, I loved Murphy and Cora the two draft horses. This one had me smiling all the way through, there were very happy tears, from me and I do hope we haven’t visited Bundilla for the last time. I highly recommend this one, it is one not to be missed. Thank you MS Callen for a beautiful story, I loved it.

My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my digital copy to read and review.

Brenna Lancaster is happily single, she runs her own horse trekking business in the Snowy Mountains high country, gives horse riding lessons in the off season and looks after rescue animals. Brenna is a country girl, she lives in jeans and muddy boots and the only girly thing about her is she loves the colour pink.

Wyatt Killian owns successful finance firm in Sydney and he’s a workaholic and tries not to form romantic attachments. Wyatt takes part in a corporate horse-riding retreat, run by Brenna, the whole idea is to switch off from city life, and mobile phones are banned and reconnect with nature.

Brenna and Wyatt get off to a rocky start, but once they hit the trail, Wyatt remembers just how much he enjoys being around horses and riding and brings back memories of the time he spent with his grandparents as a teenager. Wyatt ends up staying in Bundilla longer than he planned, the only place to rent a room is at the pub called The Bushranger and the local match makers and quilting ladies soon have him in their sights.

Brenna lives at Glenwood Station, her grumpy neighbour Arthur lives next door at Strathdale and his family holds a long term grudge against the Lancaster’s and she has no idea why. When Brenna uncovers some old letters hidden in the attic, she assumes they might have something to do with the start of the feud and the rumours of a gang of bushrangers being active in the area and Brenna, her friends and even Wyatt gets caught up in trying to solve the mystery.

I received a copy of Snowy Mountains Dawn by Alissa Callen from Harlequin Australia and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I loved the three previous books in the Bundella Series, Snowy Mountains Daughter, Snowy Mountains Cattleman and Snowy Mountains Promise and I have been waiting for the next installment and Ms. Callen hasn’t let me down.

I knew the story this time would focus on Brenna and two people who seem to be the complete opposite, and are they and sparks certainly fly between them? I enjoyed catching up with familiar characters from the other books, especially Bundy the wandering cattle dog and Brenna's friends Grace and Hettie. Like all of the authors novels, there's a theme and message included in the story, in this case it’s what happens to children when their emotional needs are not met, they carry the damage done through to adulthood, feel they're not good enough, switch off their emotions and think they don’t deserve love and to be loved.

A narrative about two stubborn people and very set in their ways, who have built up walls to protect themselves and the three things help break them down, both are good people, they love horses and solving a mystery from the past. I love reading well written and authentic Australian rural fiction, with utes and good looking blokes, pull on boots, riding horses and wearing a driza-bone coats, boiling a billy in the bush and having a good cuppa and five stars from me.

**Thank you to Harlequin Australia for sending me a free copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review; published 31 January 2024*

**3.5 stars**

I have read and enjoyed all of the books in this series (you can equally enjoy them as standalones but if you've read the others you'll see some familiar faces featured). I didn't mind this one but for some reason I didn't like it as much as the others. There were a few repetitive things in the book (yes Brenna, you don't like to wear dresses and heels, I get it). It's a super easy read though and it was a light story in between some darker reads for me. The matchmakers in this town never give up, and between Bundy the dog and the quilting group who are super persistent with no subtlety, readers know that eventually Brenna and Wyatt will get together. Fans of light hearted rural romance will likely enjoy this story.

Firstly I would like to thank Alissa Callen for sending me a copy of Snowy Mountains Dawn. She is not only a fabulous author, she is also a kind and generous person.
I loved being back in Bundilla and was so excited for Brenna's story! Brenna and Taite are twins and we know from previous books that they both held old hurts from their past but each kept them closed not wanting to upset the other.

Now that Taite is with Hettie it's Brenna's turn to open up and find love but it's not an easy road. City boy Wyatt is definitely not her type, he doesn't tick any of her boxes, and Wyatt has demons of his own to work through.

There is lots of angst between our main characters in this story but lucky they have Bundy, the matchmaking kelpie, the town's own quilting society, who know exactly who should be with who, and even Taite giving them both the push to sort through their problems and realise they are perfect for each other.

It's not all angsty romance, Snowy Mountains Dawn has captivating rural scenes via treks through the mountains, communities working together to re-home injured horses plus the discovery of hidden letters opens up a centuries old mystery. Alissa has also included some deeper themes but to mention them would be a spoiler. There is also lots of fun with the quilting ladies delivering baked goods, heart shaped cookies and even baby booties to Wyatt.

I loved the mentions of characters from previous Bundilla novels. Characters I have grown to love over the whole series and I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to say goodbye to Bundilla.

Snowy Mountains Dawn is a heartwarming story of facing your fears and opening your heart to love.

ARC received from Harper Collins Australia for an honest review

Going back to Bundilla is like going back to good friends and getting a big bear hug. It may be a while between seeing them, but it warms you heart when you do.

This country mouse meets city mouse story had me wrapped around it's little finger, and once I started I only stopped to sleep.

I have adored Brenna in the earlier books, and I loved her strength, her independence, and her capacity to love those around her.

But she doesn't need love, and Wyatt has her all flustered when he comes to town.

Oh, how I adored this pair, neither of them wants nor needs it, but the attraction between them is just too much to ignore.

And the local busybodies/matchmakers see it too. Oh they hijinx lol

I loved getting more of the couples from the previous books, how all their lives intertwine each book.

And who can forget the best matchmaker of them all, Bundy the Kelpie lol

I really love immersing myself into the world of Bundilla, and I hope we get more in the future.

This book has a strong country/city theme. It is a small town romance with a great country atmosphere including dogs, horses and even quilting. It has history in it including gold sovereigns, and genealogy. If you perhaps like books with twins and their intuition there is even that too. This is the 4th book in the series, I haven't read the others and I easily read this as a standalone. I will definitely be reading her other books as well.

It's always bittersweet when a series wraps up! Whilst we've had to say goodbye to the Bundilla folk, rest assured that they'll happily live on in our heads.

The matchmaking quilting ladies and beloved town Kelpie, Bundy, have to scheme hard this time around. Brenna Lancaster is renowned for being happily single and tough as nails. The local horse whisperer has been hurt badly in the past and now follows a set of self-imposed rules to keep herself safe. There possibly can't be anyone that'll break through Brenna's hard exterior to win her heart .. until Wyatt Killian comes to town.

As all good love stories go, Brenna and Wyatt get off to a rocky start. In town for a corporate riding retreat, Wyatt initially gets on Brenna's nerves. Still, a forced extended stay in Bundilla allows them to grow closer. Bundilla brings back fond memories for Wyatt after spending a stretch of time there as a child. As he reconnects with familiar faces and starts to build a life in the township, there's the notion in the back of his mind wondering- is it worth sacrificing a successful city life that runs him ragged for a simple country life with the girl of his dreams?

Meanwhile, there's a mystery to solve that involves a long-term neighbourly feud, a bushranger rumour, and a forbidden romance. As someone who gets a kick out of history, this was a fun puzzle to piece together.

This was such a beautiful finale. Alissa really gets the whole country town spirit, with their meddling yet well-meaning gossipers, animals and creatures galore, farmers left right and centre, and a stunning setting that is the Snowy Mountains.

Bye bye Bundilla. You'll be missed.

Thank you Harlequin for sending us a copy to read and review.
Welcome back, to our fourth trip to the small town of Bundilla.
This latest rural romance with a hint of mystery series is about opening your heart to love and embracing the moment.
Get ready to be greeted by previous friends and animals as well as making some new ones.
Brenna runs a horse trekking business so when she meets Wyatt amongst a group of visitors doing the adventure, her heart flutters.
Wyatt is a finance city man attached to his phone and has no time for love.
Soon the towns people have their matchmaking skills in full force.
The twosome think they are not suited for relationships.
But the universe has different ideas and then a long ago mystery brings them together and destiny takes over.
A slow burn romantic experience with a thread of a puzzle to solve.
Lots of furry friends to swoon over including the return of Bundy.
Wholesome, honest, caring, tender, picturesque and sweet are just some of the words to describe this charming small town fiction story.
A warm and welcoming hug is what it feels like like returning to a book and fictional world by Alissa and while this town may be coming to an end, a new one will be just around the corner.

Snowy Mountains Dawn is the 4th Bundilla Novel by Aussie author Alissa Callen, and my first to read by this author. I have now read a few books in this genre previously – Aussie outback romance stories – and if a small town outback scene for love and romance is your cup of tea, than this is a book that will hook you in.

What I loved most about this book were two particular elements: the animals and the gold sovereign side stories. I actually found the details about the barnyards of animals throughout the story to be lighthearted and humourous and balanced out the “will they wont they” play that simmered between Brenna and Wyatt. Brenna’s connections to the animals in town was a great strength. Bundy the town kelpie was great judge of character and a wonderful companion, and the connection between this dog and its human friends was very sweet. Waffles the puppy need to be noted as well for usual puppy antics. Yet the Geese and their relationships with the rescued horses needed more limelight.

The smaller plotline surrounding the discovered gold sovereigns, and the investigation into the rightful owner of the gold was impressive, with lots of red herrings and work undertaking across the town. It brought to life several characters who were only minor to the story, but painted them with more life and purpose.

The romance between Brenna and Wyatt was a slow and prickly burn. Brenna was highly strung and spiky, and Wyatt seemed too caught up in his own caricature: gooey on the inside and business on the outside. Equally stubborn, they were persistent in holding their ground to the very end.
The quilting matchmaking ladies were so annoying and off-putting. They were not romantic or twee, they were too interfering and rude; I wanted to see the geese in attach mode when they ended up at Brenna’s.

It’s a light-hearted book, it’s based in the most scenic place in the world, and to serve the array of baked good featured in this book would be a great merchandising activity for a local Snowy Mountains Café!

Brenna Lancaster prides herself on being strong and independent. But when she meets Wyatt, she feels that he can easily push her buttons.

Brenna and Wyatt have a bad start to their meeting. But Wyatt is determined to make a better person of himself then what his father was.

Bundilla has his heart, not just in the way Brenna makes him feel, but from his earlier life. And he wants to feel like he is part of that.

Brenna is wanting to be strong and prove she doesn’t need anyone. But, Bundy the kelpie has other plans. But when Brenna finds gold sovereigns and love letters, she needs not just Wyatt’s help, but also his strength to solve the mystery.

Another fabulous story of the Bundilla community and Bundy’s knowledge of needs to find happiness.

Thank you to #Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to review the book.

Brenna is a busy and fiercely independent woman running her own horse trekking business, she has no time for romance unless they tick all her boxes including looking good on a horse.

Wyatt, on a corporate horse riding retreat run by Brenna he finds himself becoming nostalgic and decides to stay in the country a little longer.

They both have past trauma that needs healing, but will they be able to get past their fears and give themselves the future they deserve, together?

This book was a very slow burn. It is a beautiful story about healing and love with charming characters, animals, and meddling old ladies (my favourite parts of the book).
This is book 4 in an intoconnected stand-alone series, and now I want to get the rest so I can find our more of the characters and the cute little Aussie town Bundilla.

Thank you Harper Collins for my copy of this book. Whilst I was given this book to review all thoughts and opinions remain my own.

It’s hard to go past Alissa Callen for warm Australian rural romances and that is certainly the case with Snowy Mountains Dawn. This story features two strong leads, neither of whom has the slightest intention of getting involved with anybody despite their instant and strong attraction to each other. Both have had bad experiences in their past that have shaped the way they behave in the present day. Brenna Lancaster is a born-and-bred country girl who’s happiest on or around her horses. She’s got plenty of sass, weilds a mean pool cue and has her life mapped out. Wyatt Lancaster’s arrival on the scene in his expensive city clothes and smart car changes all that in an instant. Despite his business success and smart appearance, Wyatt is a country boy at heart. He’s not just a horse whisperer; he befriends cantankerous geese and soothes injured animals just as easily. He also plans to continue with his casual approach to relationships and fights just as hard as Brenna to stay unattached. Sadly for these two, Bundy the matchmaking kelpie and the quilting club ladies of Bundilla have other ideas and the ensuing story is filled with gentle humour as the romantic offerings keep turning up. Brenna and Wyatt have plenty of fabulous supporting characters and if you’ve read earlier books in this series you’ll know them well. This book is feel-good from the first page and is a great addition to the series.

Having read and very much enjoyed the first three novels in the Bundilla series, I was happy to see and borrow a copy of Snowy Mountains Dawn from my local library. It was an enjoyable read and I only marked it down a star because of the rather graphic sex scenes.
I am hoping there will be more books to come in this series. They can be read as standalone but there is some continuity in the series eg we first meet Brenna in Book 1 and Bundy the dog has appeared in the other books.
I like romances where opposites attract and this was certainly the case with Brenna and Wyatt. Sparks flew between them but others could see that they were perfect for each other - but it took the couple themselves a while to recognize and admit that.
If you like Aussie rural romance then I recommend reading this series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

This is the 4th book in Alissa Callen’s Bundilla series where we return to the stunning rural community for Brenna’s story.

Ready to take a corporate group on a trekking retreat into the mountains, Brenna is met with a frustrating man who makes them wait. Against her better judgment she doesn’t leave without him and it surprised at just how good he looks riding a horse.

Wyatt is on a retreat he shouldn’t be on…but a promise is a promise and here he is. His guide is beautiful and the landscape feels like home. Trouble with a tyre means Wyatt has to hang around for a few days after the retreat ends and he’s not mad about it.

The local quilting club take note of the two of them and together with a match making kelpie, they set in motion a series of events to make them a couple. But past hurts and insecurities mean both Brenna and Wyatt feel they aren’t deserving of or arent the right person the other should settle for.

This is a slow burn rural romance set in Australia that is beautifully written. While romance might the main storyline there is also a side mystery where, after cleaning in the attic, Brenna stumbles upon some secret letters and gold from the mid 1800s and they set about trying to solve the mystery of who they belonged to.

This book can be read as a stand alone, but having read the first three books I found this was a great addition to the series. We get to see characters from the previous books again and meet some new faces.

Highly recommend this book. It’s the perfect holiday read

The “Snowy Mountains…” series continues to present charming romances set in the small town of Bundilla. Although there are no real surprises in the romance, the other inhabitants of Bundilla provide a lively background that will entertain many.

“Snowy Mountains Dawn” very much follows the template set by earlier novels in the series: a city boy/girl falls in love with a country girl/boy and they need to find a way to reconcile their differing lifestyles. Meanwhile, the matchmakers of Bundilla merrily attempt to force them together.

Here Wyatt Killian is the city boy who’s cut himself off from caring about people after a traumatic childhood involving a great deal of loss. However, when he attends a corporate horse riding retreat, he meets Brenna Lancaster. Brenna has a very rigid list of requirements for a partner, and Wyatt initially doesn’t seem to meet the most important ones.

Readers of the earlier novels will remember Brenna and her twin Taite. One of the strengths of Callen’s novels is that the characters are believable and empathetic. Readers will both understand and care about Brenna, and continuing readers in particular will be rooting for her to get her happy ending.

In earlier novels the antics of the Quilting Club – which might as well be called the Matchmaking Club – were an amusing sidelight to the main plot. However, in this instalment I’m afraid I found them less sympathetic. Their behaviour tipped over into harassment and I found it more uncomfortable than entertaining.

Characters from earlier novels are woven through this one, giving continuing readers the bonus of seeing a little more of their lives and stories. New readers aren’t disadvantaged, as Callen provides all the information you need to understand their place in this story. It does, however, add depth for continuing readers.

As always, I have some trouble picturing Bundilla as the size seems to vary depending on what the story needs. However, the characters are vivid enough that this doesn’t matter very much.

This is a pleasant and entertaining romance with enough substance to the sub-plots to help hold the reader’s attention. Callen’s fans will appreciate it, and in fact most romance readers would enjoy this. I enjoyed it, although I don’t think it’s particularly memorable.

I think that for fans of this series, this book has been long awaited. Brenna has been a strong character in most of the previous books and we’ve watched one of her best friends and her twin brother, find their person. Brenna runs a mountains camping/trekking business in the summer and does various other things including giving riding lessons and she’s very much an outdoorsy girl. She also has some very strict criteria for when it comes to a man she’d consider settling down with – he must check her boxes before she’ll even consider it.

Wyatt doesn’t check all her boxes but he checks boxes she hadn’t even thought of. A finance guy from the city, Wyatt comes along on a trek in order to honour his late friend, for whom camping in the mountains was always on his bucket list. For Wyatt, the attraction to Brenna is immediate but he also sees a competent, put together, in control woman – who is much better than him at managing emotions and the sort of woman that he doesn’t feel like he’s good enough for. Wyatt has a lot of trauma tied up in his childhood and he doesn’t believe that he’s the sort of man that’ll make a proper partner for Brenna, no matter how much he might wish he was.

I really enjoy this series, even if the quilting circle annoys me a lot, sometimes. It just can feel very forced and a bit over the top at times, when they set their sights on someone to matchmake and will basically just do a lot of intrusive and annoying things in their campaign. But I do love Bundy and his way of bringing people together which feels more subtle?

Wyatt and Brenna don’t exactly get off on the right foot to begin with when Wyatt makes somewhat of a bad first impression but he has his reasons for doing so and he’s apologetic, which Brenna appreciates. When a damaged car traps Wyatt in town for longer than he anticipated, he feels something inside of him loosening. I thought Wyatt’s backstory was really well done – because of his childhood he’d worked overtime to be successful, to be financially secure but he’d really closed himself off from pretty much anything else. Being in Bundilla brings him back to his roots, to the things he used to love – to the time after everything was bad, where he had stability. And the more time he spends with Brenna, the more he starts to want to build a future, even if he thinks he isn’t the man for her. Wyatt and Brenna had good chemistry – both of them are clearly attracted to each other physically and they’re also drawn to each other’s personalities. Wyatt admires Brenna’s toughness and her capability and Brenna definitely admires the way Wyatt is with animals and the care he takes of people in his life who are important to him.

This book adds a little bit of a mystery with Brenna discovering a hint of a family secret via some letters and it means that she has to work with Wyatt in order to see if they can solve the riddle of who the people were that were exchanging the letters. This was not a deep part of the story, it was more a catalyst to bring Brenna and Wyatt into proximity more often but it worked in terms of adding another layer to the story and giving a bit of insight into the animosity between Brenna’s family and that of the family that owned the adjoining property, which seems to have stretched back generations.

As Brenna is Taite’s twin (from book #3) we get to see quite a bit of him and Hettie and Clancy and Heath are mentioned as well as Rowan and Grace, which is one of my favourite things about an interlinked series. Getting a glimpse into how previous couples are doing and what they are up to adds a little touch of happiness and allows the reader to continue to see how the community as a whole interacts and comes together as well. The busybodies from the quilting circle are a constant and of course Bundy is a huge part of this series. There are other animals that also form a strong part of each book too – especially in this one as Brenna keeps horses and works with them on a day to day basis and is also active in rescuing and rehoming.

Another really wonderful instalment of this series.

If you’re looking for a new author who writes amazing rural romance, don’t hesitate to read Alissa Callen!
This book appears to be country girl and city boy fighting attraction, it’s so much more than that! Snowy Mountains Dawn takes us back to the wonderful community of Bundilla, working hard and matchmaking is front and centre!
The main character Brenna loves her horses and the mountains, she likes to be in control, taking groups on retreats and teaching them how to respect the lifestyle.
I found it easy to relate to the emotions and work/life balance and particularly how this group of city people took a step back from their busy lives. Wyatt finds himself relaxing into the saddle, needing to take the time to explore his priorities.
The storyline opens up when Brenna and Wyatt’s past and future collide, they work together to investigate secrets and their history.
Brenna and Wyatt are opposites and strongly value their own beliefs, but are they really so different?
I was drawn into the mystery and heartwarming developments as the story unfolds.

Congratulations and thank you to Harlequin Australia, HQ, NetGalley and the amazing Alissa Callen for the opportunity to review this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"Snowy Mountains Dawn" by Alissa Callen is an enchanting introduction to the world of Snowy Ridge, and after turning the final page, I can confidently say it won't be my last journey with this talented author. Having started with this instalment, I eagerly anticipate delving into the other books in the series, even though they are set before the events of this heartwarming tale.
From the beginning, Alissa Callen skillfully draws readers into the quaint town of Snowy Ridge, where the characters burst forth with authenticity, navigating personal struggles, and displaying a commendable strength in facing life's challenges head-on. Callen's prowess in vividly describing the Snowy Mountains makes the setting an integral and immersive part of the narrative. I found myself enveloped in the beauty of the landscape, feeling the crisp mountain air. The author's attention to detail creates a world so tangible that it becomes an inviting escape for readers.
The narrative introduces us to Wyatt Killian, a finance hotshot from Sydney, whose journey to a horse-riding retreat in Bundilla unravels a past filled with nostalgia for the days spent on his grandparents' farm. Paired with Brenna Lancaster, the strong and independent owner of the retreat, the two characters embark on a journey that goes beyond the ordinary.
As Wyatt finds himself stranded in Bundilla due to a truck tire mishap, he becomes acquainted with the locals, including Roy, the pub owner with a connection to Wyatt's childhood. The story takes intriguing turns as secrets from Brenna's past surface, intertwining with a longstanding feud between her family and their Neighbours. The presence of Bundy, a wandering cattle dog, adds a touch of warmth to Brenna's life.
The novel seamlessly weaves elements of mystery into the narrative, and as Wyatt, Brenna, and a handful of others delve into the secrets of the past, readers are taken on a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. The layered characters of Wyatt and Brenna add depth to the story, making their evolving connection a compelling focal point.
"Snowy Mountains Dawn" is a must-read for those in search of a story against a stunning backdrop, with characters so well-crafted that they linger in your thoughts long after the final page is turned.

I am grateful to Harlequin Australia for providing me with a copy of this delightful book, and I encourage others to embark on this captivating journey through the Snowy Mountains.

Brenna Lancaster, a country girl, horsewoman and very much her own woman - no one messes with her and gets away with it! Yet there is something in her past that she is not prepared to share with anyone, ever her twin Taite.
Wyatt Killian is a man from the city. When he joins one of Brenna's treks, he risks losing his spot when he tries Brenna's patience by holding up the trek. Now a successfully finance guru, Wyatt has left his train wreck of a childhood behind.
These two are very determined to each go their own way and nothing is going to stop them. There is no room for emotion in Wyatt's life but he hadn't counted on Bundy the kelpie, the Bungilla quilting group of matchmakers and a goose.
When Brenna discovers hidden gold coins and letters, a historic bushranger mystery begs to be solved.
I have now read all four books in the Bungilla series and this one is my favourite. I do hope there will be more in the series, it will be lovely to revisit Bungilla again.

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Australia for the chance to read this book.

This is the 4th Bundilla novel, and reading it was like being reunited with old friends. The first chapter was like catching up with a friend after a long gap, and the second chapter had me completely hooked on the story. Wyatt had so much going on in his life and hadn't dealt with many things from his childhood, but he was still a caring person. The reactions he and Brenna brought out in each other were enjoyable to witness.

The secondary storyline about the letters found in the attic trunk added a sense of coming full circle.
The characters from the quilting group and, of course, Bundy the Kelpie added some humour and lightness to balance some heavier aspects of the story.

It's such an enjoyable story and one I highly recommend.

I love this series, and Alissa’s writing, however this book wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be.

The couple only had one small kiss, and they both knew they were in love with each other. The other kiss was towards end of book.
Brenna needs a strong guy, whilst handsome, reserved, strong in some aspects, he was very weak in-other aspects.

The characters all drank copious amounts of coffee, could have had a drinking game with the number of times coffee was mentioned.

Next book Mia hope it is about Mia.

Always love revisiting Bundy and the town of Bundilla and this latest edition was no different. This time Bundy the Kelpie seems set on matching independent Brenna with city guy Wyatt when he joins one of the trail rides she organises. But there is more to Wyatt than meets the eye and this is not the first time they have met. I really enjoyed learning about Brenna and her twin and their family dynamics and reading about the mischievous quilting club members who go out of their way to ensure Brenna and Wyatt end up together. A great read.

Another great outback farming love story, Brenna Lancaster is a strong and confident woman, who is rattled when she meets Wyatt Killian - as there is an immediate connection - which is later revealed that Killian is the Salt and Vinegar boy, she had pronounced she would marry when she met him as a little girl and Killian was a sad and unhappy little boy.

I historical love mystery is woven throughout the book, with the twin factor - demonstrating that the lovers tale were direct relatives of Brenna Lancaster and her twin brother ....
