Nick's Niece by Kehlani Booth is an extremely taboo romance and is not for everyone. Please check the author's notes before diving in.

I absolutely love Kehlani's books. They are a quick steamy read that will leave you begging for more. I really enjoyed getting Nick and Berry's points of views throughout the book.

I would recommend this book if you like extreme taboo romances, age gap romances, or forbidden romances.

Six years ago Berry’s dad cheated on her mom with her aunt (his brother Nick’s wife). After they both left their spouses, Berry found herself taking care of her depressed alcoholic mom.

And for the past six years she’s missed her Uncle Nick, who has been MIA since everything happened.

When her mom tells her that her Uncle Nick is coming for Christmas, she’s excited to see him. And she has plans to seduce him after having had a crush on him for years.

REVIEW:

This was just okay. Not my favorite from this series.

I didn’t feel very much chemistry between Nick and Berry. Berry comes on to him VERY strong and is quite pushy about it. If anything it seems like Nick just gives in to her rather than actually wanting it.

The story also progressed strangely. Their interactions went from polite to aggressive to sexual very rapidly. And their choice to leave her house together so she could move in with him was so quick and random. They didn’t even wait until after Christmas, they just left her mom all alone. It was weird and didn’t feel realistic.

Overall it’s not my favorite from the series. Glad I got it on KU instead of paying for it.

Some authors who write uncle/niece stories don’t do them well, it’s like 2 random people hooking up. With this you really feel the taboo and know it’s uncle and niece with the constant reminders of “uncle Nick” and “niece”. Loved it.

Short uncle (Nick) x niece (Berry) xmas holiday story.

Well damn, this one choked me up a bit. The hurt/comfort was strong in this one, oof. I felt like this had lots of potential to be a full-length novel with the plot, and really hope for an expansion for this. I feel like the plot point of the mom wasn't really tied up, or maybe I'm just super worried about her. At one point, I was thinking the mom was going to disappear or kaput, but thankfully she didn't.

Wow, this really hit me in the feels. Easy favorite.

Buuu, la verdad no me dio lo que buscaba. Obvioo quería spice y sentí que fue súper poquito, además yo dije bueno escuchemos la trama detrás de todo y cero me convenció tampoco. Me pareció súper soso todo y weeey porque carajo todo el tiempo le tenía que decir "tio Nick" ya sabíamos que era su tío. Entoncees, la verdad que ni de la parte de mini trama que tiene ni del spice me gustó, estuvo entretenido, pero hasta ahí.

A quick and dirty read for sure. Some of her more recent books are better imo. Didn't love how volatile Uncle was with her in the beginning and the ending wasn't wrapped up all nice and shiny like. ;) First True Love and GrandPapa's Pet were much better so if you are new to this author, start there!

"Nick's Niece" is a novella that takes place during Christmas. Uncle Nick hasn't visited his niece for several years due to his ex-wife and brother's affair. After receiving an invitation to spend Christmas with Berry and her mom, he notices some unexpected feelings towards his niece after she initiates.

A pretty decent quick read. The ending was rather abrupt.
