About the author

Penelope Wright spent a quarter of her life on the east coast and the rest in Washington state. She worked her way through college in restaurants, hospitals, factories, and everything in between, finally graduating summa cum laude from the University of Washington after an absurdly long time. She loves both traditions and new experiences, and will try anything once, except skydiving, which is a hard no. She lives north of Seattle with her husband and two amazing teenagers.

I couldn't put this one down! It was so fast and there are so many revelations and questions and it was just so fantastic. It covers the rest of the Top Twenty and oof it was pretty brutal, violent, and descriptive, fair warning. I don't feel like I can say too much more without giving spoilers, which I would prefer not to do, so I will simply say that this one is a must read in the series and I think I have struggled to stop reading this one more than any of the others, so far! I expect that could change with the next book because that ending was whattttt? I expected something crazy, but I didn't expect THAT. Okay, I have book 7 in front of me and I have to find out what happens next.

Another cliffhanger

While I enjoy the story I really hate when authors create a series without any indication of what the end is going to be. Based on the pacing of the story, I anticipate there would need to be at least three more books to finalize the narrative. This book only went from the middle of the sleepover to the short period of time immediately afterwards. There is still a lot of story left to tell. The book in another cliffhanger and the next one is due for at least six months.

Exciting

Another great book in a terrific series. The author does a very good job of recalling the history of the previous books so you are not lost trying to remember details from them. The momentum has been built up and I am looking forward to a terrific ending to this series.

This book delves deeper into the fantasy realm. I am completely intrigued by the Council of Alloys! Penelope Wright knows how to write a fantastic cliffhanger

Really liked this installment of the series. I felt like Clio really grew in her powers and her belief in herself. I can't wait to read the next one!!!
