When Beth Schmitt, on maternity leave from her job as a medical technologist at a local hospital, went to the county fair, little did she know she was embarking upon a thirty year journey. Lab Lites is the story of that journey. Challenged by JR, a local doctor, to set up a laboratory in their small family practice, she takes us through the various technical, medical and personal challenges in building and running a small medical lab, and life along the way. It gives good advice, not only about technology and management, but also about people. And, of course, humor.
