Amidst a small village with mouse-sized dragons that roam during the winter, a lone elfish creature called a cyonkin has become the victim of stealing. While some tend to have their gold or valuable belongings taken from them, this raccoon-marked elf discovers that her boots have been robbed from her the night prior. When she throws herself into action that morning, her first suspects are the trolls residing near the village. She thinks they may know something about her missing footwear, but are such little beings capable of a strange heist like this one?
