From the internationally bestselling author of Coming to Find You and My Husband's Wife comes another edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller about a harrowing crime, the long-buried secrets surrounding it, and the explosive uncovering of the truth.
18-year-old Janie has the world and her bright future ahead of her. She's about to leave behind the small seaside town she's known all her life to embark on a career in London in book publishing and couldn't be more excited. She'll miss home—especially her dad. They've only had each other since her mother died years earlier. But she's about to start her life and she can't wait.
She's on her way home after her last early dawn swim in the bay when the peaceful stillness of the quiet Tuesday morning is suddenly shattered. A white van careens around the corner and onto the quiet street Janie is riding her bike along, and in one swift moment, her life is forever changed, and her dreams of a new life destroyed. She's brutally run-down by the van and left for dead on the street.
Twenty years later
Robbie Manning, international pop superstar and all-around good guy, answers the front door of his palatial home to a pair of police officers who inform him that he's being arrested for the attempted murder of Janie White. Everyone knows the horrifying story of Janie and what happened to her, and the mystery of who could have done such an awful thing has rattled the world for the last twenty years. But as word of Robbie's arrest spreads, no one—including Robbie's family—can believe it; Robbie is upstanding, a model citizen and family man. He couldn't possibly have committed a hit-and-run that left a young woman paralyzed and unable to speak.
Robbie doesn't deny the accusations. He's been waiting for the truth to come out for the last two decades, and he's ready for his punishment. He deserves it after what he did to Janie . . .
. . . But what if there's more to the story? What if someone else knows what really happened that day?
Janie may be the only one who can reveal the truth—if they can get her to tell her side of the story.

She was 18 died on a Tuesday and has had limited movement ever since. She was a national story, the comatose victim of a hit and run driver who was dead before being revived. Many years later when a world famous singer is implicated and arrested the story explodes all over the media Victim support officer Vanessa feels strongly that sins of the past are paid for. Like the book blurb says "there's the story that everyone believes, and then there's the truth. Jane Cory can sure write a story! And a realistic compelling story with so many poignant little touches that add to the reading pleasure. An 8 out of 12, Four Star read. 2024 read
Years ago there’s a terrible accident which is never resolved. Three points of view takes us from the past and catches up with the present. There’s young Janie White whose bright future is ahead of her, Robbie Manning, a family man who is a world famous rock star and finally retiree Vanessa, a witness service support officer. Three people, a tragedy, lives that are changed forever. Are second chances possible?
I think the first two thirds of this latest book by Jane Corry is really good. The storyline has me in a firm grip, elements of it are very creative especially one of the points of view which at times feels almost surreal. The point of view of Vanessa is very interesting due to the witness support angle which is a bit different and provides a fascinating connecting branch to the plot. The three contrasting perspectives works really well and there really is a contrast which I thoroughly enjoy. The author has created some interesting characters here although I do wonder whether a couple are a bit stereotypical. The dilemmas that each key character faces is very well done and nothing seems straightforward at all which keeps you reading on as each has secrets they are keep to keep well below the radar. Parts of the unfolding drama are chilling and hard hitting as few punches are pulled. There are some good twists and the pacing works well.
However, in the last part of the book I feel it gets too convoluted, the plot becomes too busy and it seems as if the author has chucked in everything but the kitchen sink. It makes me dizzy! One character’ naivety is hard to believe, parts are rather convenient and I have my doubts over some courtroom scenes. Also, did I miss something? What is the significance of the day thing??? That leaves me rather baffled!
This is such a shame as the first two thirds is a cracking read.
With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Penguin General UK for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.
I Died on a Tuesday by Jane Corry immediately pulled me in with its gripping premise—an unsolved crime, a life forever changed, and a shocking arrest twenty years later. From the very first pages, I was completely caught up in Janie’s story, feeling the weight of everything she lost in that one terrible moment. The writing had this effortless way of making me care deeply, not just about what happened to Janie, but about the people orbiting around the crime, the ones who had spent years carrying the burden of secrets and guilt.
And then there’s Robbie Manning. The pop superstar, the beloved public figure—his arrest sends shockwaves through everyone, and I found myself just as stunned as the characters in the book. How could someone like him be responsible? But the brilliance of the story lies in the fact that Robbie himself doesn’t fight the accusations. He’s been living with this truth for years, waiting for the reckoning. That’s what made this so compelling—there’s no easy answer, no clear-cut villain. Just layers upon layers of choices, consequences, and the past refusing to stay buried.
The pacing was fantastic, keeping me on edge as new revelations surfaced. I loved how it made me question everything—how well do we really know people? How much of the truth is shaped by what we choose to believe? And yet, as much as I was engrossed in the unraveling of the mystery, the ending felt a little too orchestrated. Certain pieces fell into place a bit too smoothly, making things feel more tied up than they probably should have been. With a story this layered, I almost wanted some loose ends, something unresolved to linger and keep me thinking.
Still, that didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the journey. It was gripping, emotional, and had me flipping pages every chance I got. A great read for anyone who loves a psychological thriller with secrets that refuse to stay buried.
🎧 Thank you so much to Libro.fm for the ALC. I only listened a minimal amount, but what I did listen to, I thought the performance by the narrators was well done. I enjoyed the narration.
"Eighteen-year-old Janie is leaving home for a new life, but a fateful event stops her in her tracks.
Famous rock star Robbie is trying to live the dream but holds a shocking secret from over a decade ago.
Witness support officer Vanessa who has lost her husband and needs to make right with the world again."
For a minute now I have been having so many comments on my TikTok recommending this book for me and well frankly enough was enough I needed to see what all the kerfuffle was about. This book started off so strong and I was lapping up the backstory of the three main characters and the short chapters…. OOOOH WEEE! Love it, give me 14 of those!
Everyone’s story was interesting, and I was so excited to see how it would all link together. When it reached part two there was some very compelling moments, but it did start to slow down. It felt quite ”filler-y”
In terms of ‘thriller’, I would say there was none. It read more like a book of where everyone has their secrets, and they slowly get revealed.
The revelations were good but nothing outstanding but what kept me going was the storytelling itself. I really found myself ingrained in these characters lives.
⋆。°✩WHAT I LIKED⋆。°✩ ➽ Short chapters ➽ Interesting characters ➽ Good storyline
⋆。°✩WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE⋆。°✩ ➽ Quite slow parts ➽ A little bit embellished ➽ Could have been 100 pages shorter ➽ Ending quite underwhelming
The ending was ok but nothing groundbreaking. I definitely want to read more of these authors work as she gives of Lisa Jewell vibes and that kind of book you can get stuck on the couch reading for a whole weekend.
3.5 ⭐
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ⋆。°✩pre read⋆。°✩ Many people on my TIKTOK have told me to read this! I hate FOMO so i am excited to see if i enjoy it! Fingers tightly crossed this super delivers! 🧡💚🧡
I’m astounded at the high average rating of this book. In fact, I’m irrationally angry about it! In short, this is 465 (YES 465) whole pages of awful characters who all confess to a sin/crime/murder which is then finished off by a number one hit ‘song’ which sounds like it was written by a 5 year old. The end.
Never give up on your writing dreams kids, if this can get published anything can! At points I physically screamed reading this book as I was so frustrated. Interesting premise and characters wasted with mediocre writing, anticlimactic answers to the questions posed and arguably the worst dialogue i’ve seen put to paper.
Eighteen year old Janie knew her mother hadn't drowned like they all said. She knew she would find her if only she had time to search more. London was a big place but even though her dad tried to convince Janie that she was gone, Janie was determined to believe the opposite. Her new job in London would be the beginning of that search, and she was excited, but sad to leave her dad as well. Cycling home from her usual swim at the beach, Janie's head was full of her future; thoughts that filled her mind. The sudden appearance of a white van in front of her, heading for her, shattered Janie's dream, her future, forever.
Robbie, his wife Irena and their two children, were happy. Robbie was a singing star, popular, making plenty of money, living the dream. But Robbie held a dark secret, one which he could tell no one. And when the police arrived at their door, Robbie knew his time had come. Was he guilty, or not guilty?
Vanessa had had a brutal life. Now, a witness support officer to the courts, she enjoyed each and every time she helped someone. They said - don't get close to the people you support - but Vanessa had a problem with that rule. What would she do when confronted by the latest case?
I quite enjoyed I Died on a Tuesday, which is my first by Jane Corry. Well written characters, they all performed as they should. Janie was a heartwarming character, while Vanessa was a favourite. And there were some really "bad" guys as well - no sympathies for them! I'm going to check out more of the author's work. Recommended.
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.
3.5. The book opens with an accident. A horrible accident that leaves Janie on the ground, her bicycle next to her, hit by a white van and left for dead. Then the book forwards to 20 years later. There were a lot of characters in this book - almost too many. Some were well developed like Vanessa, the court appointed witness guardian who helps witnesses thru trials. I think there were so many characters in this book that it sort of muddied it to be honest. Still a fast-paced thrilling book that I enjoyed.
Thank you to NetGalley, Jane Corry and Penguin Publishing for the e-Arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
Without doubt the worst book I have ever read. Dreadful writing. The only moderately interesting thing was the date of the accident wasn’t a Tuesday, but that was never explained. Would give zero stars if that was possible.
This book was a gripping thriller told by multiple POV's. The plot was filled with lots of twists which kept me on the edge, if you love thrillers this is a definite must read ❤️
They tried to bury that fateful day. Now it’s back to haunt them...
2004: 18-year-old Janie was hit by a van and left for dead on the road. It was a miracle Janie survived but she got so serious injuries that she's now crippled for the rest of her life. The driver was never found. 2024: Robbie, a famous musician have been arrested for the crime and now he is in prison waiting for the trial for the things he did 20 years ago...
I Died on a Tuesday was mainly narrated by Vanessa, Janie and Robbie. It took some time to understand how their lives were connected. Author jumped between present day and past day events, and different PoVs which made story fragmented and disjointed.
Janie's and Robbie's POVs were slow, repetitive and often vague. It got frustrating to read .
This was a frustrating read, too long and drawn out to be enjoyable.
Janie is off riding her bike when she gets hit by a van and dies on the side of the road. She's brought back to life but now exists in a wheelchair, unable to communicate aside from singing. Decades later, a popular musician is indicated in the crime, and a trial is set to discover the truth.

This was one of the most baffling books I've ever read. It was multiple stories and viewpoints of twisting and meandering storylines. They all seem to be completely separate from one another to the point of being slow and awkwardly paced. Then, the last third of the book hits, and it was insanity. Every single storyline was tossed together. Threats and deaths and missing persons come back. Betrayals and hidden characters and matchmaking attempts. It was everything, AND the kitchen sink, and I was shaking my head at how ridiculous it all was. Everything was tied together and then thrown in with other people related to those we knew about tangentally. Which continued in an intricate and overly convenient web that thrust everyone to the forefront at once. Then it ends on possibly the most awkward and cringe-inducing song I've ever read. Which heavily implies a main lead is a very unreliable narrator, as if it's a surprise when it's already been drilled into our heads for at least the last 100 pages.
All in all, this was a frustrating read, and I wouldn't recommend it unless you truly love books that are long and drawn out, then huck everything at you in an attempt at creating mystery and intruige.

Thank you, NetGalley, and Penguin Random House for the digital ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A famous singer has been arrested for a hit and run that happened many years ago. The victim was a teenage girl that has been left with life changing injuries. There were lots of characters in this book. It had some twist and turns and an interesting storyline. Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
I will admit the book was good, I liked the characters especially Vanessa and the story line was good, but I didn't really find it to be a thriller which is what I mostly read. I have never read a book by Jane Corry and I am not opposed to reading another considering the 3 stars for this ones, it was a slow burn but not suspenseful enough for me but I had to finish what I started.
The storyline was decent and it all connected and you got to hear from 5 POV's part 3 was more POV's but part 1 & 2 you get Janie white (the girl who had the bike accident), Robbie (the man accused of hitting her/also famous pop star) and Vanessa (the girl who helps with witness/victims and provides support).
Finished this book on a Tuesday and I feel the same as the title…This story had hope but honestly wasn’t my favourite. This is about an 18 year old being hit by a van and then 20ish years later, someone gets arrested for it. There are 3 POV and goes from present to Janie’s past view when she was in the accident. However, there was just A LOT going on. There were different secrets that could be hard to keep track. The storyline was under clear at times, ie. a characters name was listed even though Vanessa didn’t know that was them. (Loc 2932). And it just wasn’t great. I received this book as an ARC which was clearly not edited or reviewed for extreme word and punctuation errors yet. Which is fine and likely wouldn’t be the case at publishing. But this book gave me a headache.
This is a great read that has a few twists and turns to keep you on your toes. The story has three main characters - Janie who was knocked off her bike and left for dead, Robbie who is accused of hitting her in a van and Vanessa who works in court and supports those giving evidence. We learn about all three characters but I really felt for Vanessa when someone from her past gets in touch. As the story unravels, more information comes to light, and what you initially expect starts to change. I liked the way that all the characters were connected and really enjoyed this book. Thanks to Penguin and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
3.5 tounded up For most of the book, this was a 5 star read. Love the characters and excellent use of multiple POV. There are a lot of characters and a lot going on. The last part of the book is the reason for the rating. Author tried to throw too much in there and it just too away from the story. Rather than enhance it.
When I started this book I had high hopes. I felt it was building up a nice story for some big secrets to be revealed but then the story building just kept going on and on and on and nothing was really happening. When it finally wrapped up near the very end I was SO confused. Too many story lines, too many characters, just plain too much. Could’ve been better if simplified a bit.
Janie had everything going for her - but as this 18 year old was riding her bike home, returning from an early morning swim, she was struck down by a van and left for dead. Twenty years later, this accident, which had remained unsolved, is suddenly thrust into the public eye once again when a famous singer is accused of the crime. Is Robbie as guilty as he says? Or is he covering for someone? And what does volunteer and retiree Vanessa have to do with it all?
PROS and CONS: It was interesting reading from the perspectives of Vanessa, Robbie and Janie, each angle kept things moving with gaps being filled in by one another, only to be left with more questions once their parts were done. What do these three have in common? And who hurt Janie?? I liked it to begin with, but found the pacing to be quite slow in the end.
READ IT? If you are a fan of Jane Corry, you will probably like this one. It was my first however, but not sure it was strong enough to convince me to add her to my go-to list of authors.
I liked this book at first. Then it got a little too crazy ridiculous towards the end. All the stories converge but in ways that don’t really have much impact. Certain characters are added but no real reason is giving to care about them. Also a lot of unsatisfying non-resolution of certain plot points. Overall I didn’t dislike it but I wouldn’t recommend it to someone.
I personally felt this was a 5 star read. Did I need Kleenex? No. However, this book captivated me the entire time. Alot of characters to follow initially, for me anyway, but wow. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
