Watching Me

Rate this book
I could have told him to leave me alone.

I should have told him to get out.

Instead, I let him stay…and keep coming back.

Ready to break free from her current lackluster relationship, Violet is ready to move on—but to what, she doesn’t know.

Unintentionally, she releases otherworldly Kade. His arrival—and the knowledge that he brings—makes her start to question everything in her life. Her views of the world she thought she knew are forever changed.

Not everything is as it seems. Not everyone can be trusted.

With only five nights to learn about Kade and what he has to offer, she can’t deny her attraction to the alluring and dark-eyed stranger who claims to love her. Against her better judgment, she decides to let him in and hear him out, even though he has been watching her for six years.

Can she learn to trust—or better yet, fall in love with—a demon?

This dark spicy romance is amazingly written. The first book in this series checks all the boxes. Just enough spice with a thought provoking unexpected plot that will leave you not being able to wait for the next one. The first book from this author was spectacular. Would recommend to all my fellow dark romance lovers. Reminded me of ACOTR, love, action, fantasy, perfect!

Not my usual genre, but it took me on a ride into the world of paranormal romance, blending in the perfect amount of spice. It keeps you hooked from start to finish. I was not expecting that ending- the last couple chapters I could not put down. Thank god the second book is out already!

I found this quite boring. It was a becoming chore to turn the page to finish the book by around the halfway point.

There is little to no world building & it’s inconsistent where there is world building.

“Plot twist” at the end was predictable and incredibly poorly implemented. It was just shoved in your face without warning or build up.

The last chapters felt rushed, and the ending itself is predictable and basically Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 1

I have to admit I am not a "reader" of books, but I was hooked within the first few pages and couldn't put it down. Great story line and imagination. I recommend this book and cant wait to start the second one!

No true spoilers in this review, but it's a bit of a long review! I first found this book when it came across my TikTok page. It was a teaser video that said "you've accidnetly released a demon... ". I immediately went to find it on Barnes and Noble, which is where I read the official description, and I instantly bought it. I HAD to know what this was about. I hadn't seen many reviews on this book, but the ones I did see, have all said this book hooks you from the very beginning and keeps your attention throughout. And boy were they not kidding! By page 4 I was SUCKED IN and enjoying every bit. And it truly does keep your attention till the very last sentence. I have never been a huge reader because my ADHD makes it extremely difficult to focus, and I usually get frustrated and give up. Reading has never been "fun" for me because of that. However, if something can keep my attention well enough, then I'll hyperfocus on it. This book did that for me! I could NOT put this thing down and I finished it in less than 5 days, which is such a huge accomplishment for me as someone who struggles to read! I'm sure if I hadn't of been at work for most of those days, I would have finished it within 1-2 days easily! This book was very well written, but different from some others I've jumped into (Fourth Wing and ACOTAR). This book has just enough description without going into pages and pages of extreme world building detail, which made it super easy to follow. I felt like I was reading a really well written fan fiction (that's not a bad thing), and I LOVED it. The spice level is just perfect, not overly descriptive yet still enough to imagen things (not really a spoiler, but the mirror maze scene was HOT). The ending really pulls you for a rollercoaster, and I cannot wait for book two later this year!!!!
