Everything has calmed down so now Rimuru can focus on improving his new domain, including foreign relations, so he's holding a festival and inviting all his friends.

Not a lot happens in this one, just some shuffling of characters and reorganizing the status quo (though the bit with Benimaru was hilarious). But, if you read any of the spin-offs, this is about where That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Ways of the Monster Nation starts. This is also the first mention of Gobuemon in the main series if you're reading That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Trinity in Tempest. So I'm expecting to finally (officially) meet some previously mysterious characters.

It is kind of cool seeing Rimuru and the others trying to prepare for the festival and seeing people's reaction to his invitation is also funny especially King Gazel. We also get some nice world building as we learn about where dragons come from and how their powers work. Also the idea of Rimuru and Ramris building a dungeon for adventurers to come and try is also really cool.

I've been reading the spin offs and most of them are based after the founding of Tempest. This is the missing link I've been waiting for!

... Though the final bonus comic makes me think I'm missing a spinoff so I'll now go look for it...

I love that we had a chance to slow things down and just plan on something huge for the future. The festival and the entertainment, new deals with foreign countries and seeing some interesting folks coming to live with Rimuru. Plus just giving a lot of the important outside characters some page time again is really nice considering just how many there are.

This volume had me laughing out loud multiple times. Since the anime is just ahead of this volume I know what’s coming but it doesn’t take away how good these latest volumes are. Good characterization abounds!

Peace has come so it's time for some festivals and strengthening of bonds. Plus a bit of foreshadowing so as to not relax completely.

Plus an unexpected marriage proposal :)

All in all a nice and relaxing read.

Rimuru prepares for his massive festival where all the leaders of other lands will be introduced officially to his demon lord status! Also, he decides to get Veldora and Ramiris to help out making a multi-level dungeon game for entertainment.

This volume takes a bit of a departure from what felt like the "status quo" for the series, that all the major villains have been neutralised by one method or the other (befriending or defeating, either/or), so now they're just setting up for a big party to celebrate all that! Mostly wholesome, except for the violent parts (I guess the next Big Bad has to get established).

The surprise marriage proposal to Benimaru was perhaps the most unexpected part, especially since it came literally out of nowhere as though to specifically get a reaction out of people (in- or out-of-comic). I do like Ramiris's ability, though, which reminds me of Percy Jackson Daedalus specifically (with a touch of The Maze Runner). The idea of CREATING a dungeon for adventurers to explore is a fun exercise in what exactly goes into one, since most fantasy glazes over how they're made in the first place. Rimuru's version is sanitised, though, since no one will REALLY get hurt in his version.

A fun read, but still not very approachable without having read at least most of the prior books (a regular comment of mine for almost any long-running series).
