The twin sisters who lost their parents were deprived of their massive inheritance by their cruel stepmother. However, her three sons developed special feelings for the two sisters, who were not related to them by blood. Thus, in this ancient manor, a bloody fairy tale unfolded, woven with love and hate, revenge and romance
The manhua is a long version about the retelling of Cinderella's story, a gothic horror.
There is no secret Aida-older sister and Aisha-younger sister and the daughters of a rich merchant, Gwen who lost his wife and married an aristocrat, it was expected for the new rich to marry someone with title so the could be part of the high society. Lady Sylvia brought her three sons: Carlo, Sean and Nemo.
Sylvia is the evil stepmother but in the story she is not openly against the girls until they get older. She tried to make them unwelcomed in their own home. Honestly, she is bad person and she is becoming more despicable. Her attempts to be the sole owner of the fortune is getting more dangerous.
Aida is a frivolous since childhood, she is only alive because Aisha is very smart. Aida could die at any minute in the narrative, she is in more danger than Aisha. She likes to seduce men and believe that they will always help her. She is so wrong about it. She has nothing in her head but sometimes she makes sense in her actions but I don't what the narrative will do with her later. She is Aisha's weakness. I don't see her having any help from Carlo or Nemo.
Carlo resembles his father, does not work and likes to spend. Nemo only interest is painting and Aida/Aisha. Not much help from them.
Sean is the mysterious child that the girls could not bully. He is a pianist and tries to make a living. He killed his stepfather, he is not Mondo's child and was molested by him. He killed Gwen. Killing Gwen only helped his mother to achieve her goals. Did he kill him because at the time would benefit his mom? Yes, probably. He knew that Gwen's death was definitely worse for the girls's well being. He did that to help his mom. Arthur Duncan is his father. Sean was born from two bad people and he has many characteristics from his mother and father that's why he barely lift a finger to stop his mother to kill the sisters to stole their fortune. His goals are hidden, maybe he do want the fortune to theirs but after the last attempt on Aida's life he warned his mother to stop her tricks. He loves his mother and he is not to be trusted. He is NOT the typical male lead. Aisha tried her best to stay aways from him.
Aisha is the smart sister and only alive because she does not trust anyone. Honestly, she is very smart and resourceable. She does not have help from anyone to get aways from her stepmother and maybe could lose her life because of it. She is not the typical introvert. I love her interactions with Sean and the fairy tales that she read it.
I like the changes in the storyline and the slow burn. The sense of urge is frequent but the girls cannot do anything about their outcome. A truly masterpiece, a well written storyline. Arthur is present in the narrative and helped understand Sylvia's past and her way of thinking. I think Aisha's plan will work later to study medicine. As the manhua is on an indefinite hiatus and it ended in a cliffhanger. Hopefully later the author can bring a satisfying ending.
