This book is a fascinating look about the philosophical themes in Malick's The Thin Red Line. Although I think that many of the interpretations of the movie in this book are wrong (in fact, I don't think I wholly agree with any of the essays), each chapter is very interesting and informative.

My main complaint is that, given that it is written largely by philosophers, one would have hoped for more depth and rigor. This book merely scratches the surface.
