“Empowering Women With Words: Life-Changing Conversations” by Women of the Empowering Women Alliance and contributor Sandra Yancey, is a collaboration that can have a transformative effect on the lives of women. These stories are from many walks of life and experiences, generating wisdom and truths that will inspire and nurture women. Fifteen women share their stories of bravery, personal power, determination, resilience, and faith. They pass their stories on to you in hopes of imparting a stimulus for growth and change. You’ll find stories about careers, families, and a mix of life experiences, written by professionals with varying credentials and expertise. These accomplished women include speakers on the international stage, leaders of nonprofits, innovators, and artists.
The Empowering Women Alliance has created this book with you in mind and it’s a clarion call for solidarity and togetherness. The stories reflect issues that are important to women of varying ages in today’s world and will act as a springboard for meaningful change in your life. One of my favorite things about the book is that they remember to include the spiritual aspect of a woman’s journey, so this is a group effort that is holistic in nature. It really doesn’t leave anything important out.
One of the takeaways is that together, women can accomplish much. Books like this, and stories like these, don’t work without honesty, and honesty saturates every story in this book. Honesty opens the door to self-examination, change, hope, and possibilities for a better life. Each story is different, with its own life lesson, but one thread I enjoyed is the celebration of uniqueness, that no matter who you are or where you came from, you matter, and have something to offer as a woman–to others, to your community, and to the world.
I would venture to say that after you read this book, chances are good you will come away feeling wiser, more motivated, and blessed. At its heart, this is a self-help book that speaks to everyone. The power of words has never been so evident. Some stories are so painful and emotional to read, but so enriching. You will find a good balance of light-hearted and serious. So, if it’s women-centered self-improvement you seek, “Empowering Women With Words: Life-Changing Conversations” by Women of the Empowering Women Alliance, should be read and shared today.
