Throughout their journey, they uncover clues towards Johnny's whereabouts and Sapphire's capabilities, both of which lead to startling implications that a deadly weapon might be in the works.

They seek to discover the meaning of love before pride and duty and what makes them worthy of it. Whether that be destiny or something greater, the battle of forbidden desire against predetermined fidelities awaits them amidst the long path to freedom.

S. Victoria Nakamun is an independent author based in Edmonton, Alberta, specialising in all things dark, grim and beautiful. She is currently in her fourth year in a BSc program majoring in Psychology and minoring in Biological Sciences, and lives with her partner Halina and her two cats, whom all of this is really for. Her debut novel, When Two Roads Meet, was released in December of 2023 and is the first in the Cardinal Series.

I'm the author and I think this book is pretty cool.
If you like dark fantasy that makes you feel like your heart is breaking and healing at the same time, or if you live for the slowest burn of forbidden romance between two deeply broken but determined women, or crave a story filled to the brim with magic, wonder, blood and brilliantly complex villains, give this one a read. I'm extremely proud of this little piece of my heart, including all the love and pain I experienced during a very vulnerable and transformative time of my life, and am deeply honored and incredibly grateful to share it with you all.
