Lure of the Bear is another marvelous addition to the Aloha Shifters: Jewels of The Heart series.
Each book gives us a different shifter and couple to fall in love with. I would recommend reading the series in order, because previous characters appear and play major roles in the storyline, though you can read each book as a stand-a-lone.
We continue on our storyline looking for the magical stones.
Hunter and Dawn where cute together. I loved Officer Dawn Meli the moment she was first introduced in Lure of the Dragon and then in Lure of the Wolf she finds out about shifters. Hunter has known Dawn since childhood and he has also known she is his mate for years. I loved the backstory; between them and that they where a little awkward with each other. These two have a strong connection, but Dawn’s got walls up and Hunter’s got some issues of his own. I loved Hunter and how sweet and understating he was. These two where so much fun to read about.
I also love the storyline with the magical stones and the shifter brothers, who are brothers of the heart. They have come together to make their own family and it’s been wonderful watching each one find his mate and finally find peace and love.
Lure of the Bear is full of suspense, action, adventure, and love. I can’t wait for the next installment.

Another awesome addition to this series! Another excellent job by the narrator Kelsey Osborne! Loved listening to this story in audio! Each book in this series is about a different couple, but there is a continuing storyline throughout all the books, and previous characters appear from the previous books, so I'd read the previous books before starting this one. Lure of the Bear is Hunter and Dawn's story, and I love that Officer Dawn Meli already knew about Hunter being a bear shifter from the previous book, so I was really looking forward to seeing her reaction in this book, and how Hunter was going to claim his mate. Hunter is having a really hard time with Dawn after she found out that Hunter and his friends are shifters, and Dawn has some walls up due to some past events, so she has been really knocked off balance with the news that there are shifters in the World, and that the guy she has been crushing on is one of them. I loved Hunter! He is so sweet and understanding, and I absolutely love bear shifters! They are so adorable! And of course fierce! Dawn and Hunter are cute together! I loved the backstory between the two, and I liked that they were a little awkward with each other. This is almost a second chance at love story, which I love! I also love the continuation of the magical jewels storyline, which adds a cool magical element to the story, and this book as with the previous books has the suspense element, which adds to the danger in the action scenes, and I loved the Bridezilla aspect; it made for some humorous scenes! Oh and I loved the kitten!! Keiki is adorable! I'm really looking forward to Cruz's story! I love when the gruff ones fall in love! Action, Adventure, and Love!

Police officer Dawn has had feelings for Hunter a long time, but the reveal of his shifter identity makes it hard for her. Past experiences makes it tough to trust, but when Dawn and Hunter gets paired up at an event, things heat up.
Hunter has know since the beginning that Dawn is his other half, but with her reluctance and fright, he´s taken it slooooow. Now that threats kreep closer, though, all bets are off.
Time for the bear to step up.

Book three of Jewels of the Heart series by Anna Lowe and narrated by Kelsey Osborne
Hunter is a grizzly bear shifter and at the end of book Dawn see Hunter shapeshift while in a fight where the bad guy was going to attack Dawn.
Dawn is a native from Maui and lived there her whole life and since Hunter has come to Maui both Hunter and Dawn have been dancing round each other until Dawn sees Hunter shift and kill someone.
I love that both Hunter and Dawn have been dancing around each other for along time being very polite and civil but when they are partnered together at a big celebrity wedding, Dawn realises Hunter isn’t a mindless killer but her hero that actually saved her.
While partner they realised they work well together and eventually sparks fly and things heat up quick.
This I one of my favourite book so far mostly because Hunter is so loveable and Dawn does compliment him perfectly.
Kelsey Osborne is a fantastic narrator and does a awesome job expressing the difference between characters especially the Special Forces team like Cruz and Hunter

So loving this series. I can not wait to read the future books on Cruz and Silas, especially Silas the grumpy dragon. I glad I waited a bit before reading the book. When I first got the book and audio there was not whispersync available. But not to long later it was available for this book.
Now I loved the narrator’s voice but like the previous books she did rearrange sentences and leave words and sentences out. If you are not following along in the book then you will not be able to tell it. For me when a sentence was left out I would stop the book and read the sentence that was left out.
I just loved Hunter. We got to know him little by little in each book. He was a bear shifter that was shy, lonely, and carried some hurt and pain around. My heart really broke for him. Reading about his past I can not imagine what it was like for him growing up. This did not only hurt him but it hurt is bear as well.
I loved how in this series the animal appears to be a separate being living inside the person. You could tell by how they talked to their animal and their animal talked to them. This was the same case in this story. Hunter’s bear talk to him, encouraged him, make his feelings, wants and desires know. He also help guide him on winning their mate.
Officer Dawn Meli was having a hard time after seeing Hunter turn into a bear. This caused alot of emotions to stir inside her. She was scarred of what she had seen. She was also drawn to Hunter and could not get him off her mind.
I had several laughs when it came to Hunter and Dawn working the wedding of this night mare of a person, Regina the nightmare bride was truly something. That woman loved attention. What Hunter and Dawn had witness was almost funny.
Dawn will find herself in danger and Hunter will find a ghost from his past come back to haunt him. I loved how protective Hunter was of Dawn. I love how much he put her first. This romance will really sweep you off your feet. This is a book I would highly recommend.

His destined mate, rejecting him. The boy's were hired as extra security for the resort the the biggest ever. Dawn was told she had to work there too. Talk about FATE! Hunters tongue became untied a little trying to talk to Dawn. He was in heaven, but things changed fast, will he be able to save Dawn? Will Dawn be able to save him?

This third book of this great series Aloha Shifters centers on the most gentle of the group, big and quite bear shifter Hunter. But don't let his demeanor fool you, he can be just as deadly. Hunter isn't too spiffy these days though, as a matter of fact he has been down right down in the dumps. The woman that is his fated mate, that he has loved since school saw him in his raw form and has been avoiding him. Now he will never have a chance to woo her even if he ever got up the nerve to do so. To top it all off he has been having those awful nightmares about the horrible events of his childhood ever since.
Officer Dawn Meli has been secretly in love with Hunter since they first met in school, but how can she ever trust,or harbor illusions of being with him now that she has discovered his big secret. She still can't wrap her head around it no matter how the man pulls at her heartstrings. But underneath all that bestiality there is an inherent gentleness and sadness about him and she just can't resist him. Will her love be stronger than her sense of duty? What Dawn doesn't realize is that the fates have plans for her and they include her bear.

This series just gets better, I have to say this is my favourite so far!
Hunter is a bear shifter and has know that Dawn the sexy and strong Police officer is his mate, his known for years but his a bear shifter and she is a human it could never be.
Dawn is a heroine you will like, she loves her work as a police officer, she is pulled to Hunter and is inquisitive to the set up at the big mansion. If you are reading books in order (recommended) you will know Dawn had a shock at the end of book two, and has been avoiding the tempting Hunter ever since.
The was something different about this book that made it my fave of the series, maybe the fact that Hunter and Dawn had a history, so was more build up. Their first time together was delightfully sexy, and I loved reading about these characthers.
4.5 warm and sexy stars

Dawn and Her nter's story prove why Anna Lowe is said to be one of the best paranormal romance authors writing now !! Dawn is a Maui cop and Hunter a bear shifter, he's known for years that she is his destiny, she's wanted him, but something from her past keeps her from making ving forward. Both assisigned as undercover security to a celebrity wedding gets things rolling in the right direction, but as with the first two books in the series, the bad guys are out in force and don't care who the hurt or kill. Excellent rollercoster ride of sex, heat, bad shifters, spirit stone awakening and a fight to the death !! Every time i say an Anna Lowe book can't get better, she proves me wrong !! 5⭐'s and i wish i could give it more !! And little Keiko, you might not be a shifte , but your the most ferocious, cuddly , purring kitten on the island !! I'm choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.

Getting back to this series after taking a bit off and it's fun to be back in this world of shifters. I really liked the couple in this one, and that they were both a little shy in their own ways but the chemistry, wow! And I love that it is a bear shifter romance.
I wasn't expecting some of the challenging backstories , which is something that can jar me out of the romance vibe. That said, I have noticed this can come up a fair amount in paranormal romance. It wasn't a huge emphasis, but did play a part in the story.
That said, I'm looking forward to continuing the series especially as I've picked up the last 3 books!

Od měničských fantasy většinou neočekávám nijak moc. V tomto případě jsem však, vzhledem k tomu, jakou laťku nastavila autorka předchozími díly, a že se jednalo o dvojici medvěd \ policistka, měla očekávání přeci jen o něco vyšší. A i když se mi kniha četla dobře, a příběh příjemně plynul, byl dějově jaksi průměrný.
Osobně jsem hledala oddechovku, a v tomto směru mé požadavky splnil, avšak nijak výrazněji neohromil. Snad se další díl v řadě, pokud ji nepřekoná, vrátí alespoň na úroveň předchozích dvou.

Definitely my favorite of the “Lure” series so far, I have to tell you. Don’t get me wrong, I love Kai and Boone, but dear, sweet Hunter… hey, every girl needs a big, warm, cuddly teddy bear, doesn’t she? (But you’ll have to find your own, because this one is mine.)
But I digress!
The “Lure of..” books are really fun and different, not just from the usual Shifter paranormal romance books, but also from Anna Lowe’s Shifter books. The touch of “Magnum P.I.” is a fun little nod to my childhood of course, but there’s also the interesting taste of Hawaiian culture and mythos woven in that makes them fun to read. You think you pretty much know what Shifter stories are like, but there’s just a little something different here.
Speaking of different: Dawn and Hunter. This is not the usual, “Alpha Male claims his mate” story, so if that’s what you want, please check out some of Anna’s other books. They’re great! Hunter is not that guy. Is he strong? Heck yeah. Brave? Yep! Ex-military? Check that box, too. But he’s also quiet and sweet, slow to anger, but quick to cuddle a motherless kitten. This is a man with soul-deep wounds he doesn’t advertise. He carries on with life the best he can. He’s steadfast and loyal, and he needs Dawn like he needs air to breathe, but something happened to make him believe she’ll never accept him. But remember – he’s the kind of guy who’ll take care of that motherless kitten – he’ll never force a relationship on a woman. He’d rather live without her than cause her fear or pain. He’d rather just be near her, than scare her again.
I’d take THAT guy over the typical “Alpha Male” every day of the week (and twice on Sundays). And do not get me started on Hunter’s bear side. That sweet beastie, he breaks my heart! I wanna beat the snot out of a few people, is all I can say.
The really great part is that Dawn is 100% perfect for Hunter. Fate doesn’t mess around – she really knows what’s she’s doing when she pairs these two up. Dawn Meli (Officer Meli, of the Hawaii PD, to you and me, thank you very much) is physically and mentally strong. She and Hunter met as kids and she’s always had a sweet spot for her sweet friend (get it? “Sweet”? Read the book, you’ll get my terrible joke), but she was really thrown for a loop when she found out about his secret Bear side. It’s hard for her to reconcile, but not quite as hard as Hunter thinks it is. When push comes to shove, it’s ultimately Dawn’s love and inner strength that saves the day. She might just be one of my favorite female characters in Anna’s Shifter books. I’d love to go into detail about why, but I know I’d end up going into spoilers, and that’s something I promised myself I’d never do. Oh, the torture!
Look, if you’re not too sure about this series, but kinda wanna give them a shot, PICK THIS BOOK! You will not be sorry, I promise, because “Lure of the Bear” is my favorite of the three books that have released so far. Yes, it does have some steamy scenes, and there’s some violence, but there’s a happy ending, no cheating, and you CAN read and enjoy it without having read the others first. You’ll get a bit more out of it if you read the others, but I can honestly say that if you read “Lure of the Bear” first, you’ll want to go back and read “Lure of the Dragon” and “Lure of the Wolf”.

He’s steadfast and loyal, and he needs Dawn like he needs air to breathe, but something happened to make him believe she’ll never accept him. But remember – he’s the kind of guy who’ll take care of that motherless kitten – he’ll never force a relationship on a woman. He’d rather live without her than cause her fear or pain. He’d rather just be near her, than scare her again.
I’d take THAT guy over the typical “Alpha Male” every day of the week (and twice on Sundays). And do not get me started on Hunter’s bear side. That sweet beastie, he breaks my heart! I wanna beat the snot out of a few people, is all I can say.
The really great part is that Dawn is 100% perfect for Hunter. Fate doesn’t mess around – she really knows what’s she’s doing when she pairs these two up. Dawn Meli (Officer Meli, of the Hawaii PD, to you and me, thank you very much) is physically and mentally strong. She and Hunter met as kids and she’s always had a sweet spot for her sweet friend (get it? “Sweet”? Read the book, you’ll get my terrible joke), but she was really thrown for a loop when she found out about his secret Bear side. It’s hard for her to reconcile, but not quite as hard as Hunter thinks it is. When push comes to shove, it’s ultimately Dawn’s love and inner strength that saves the day. She might just be one of my favorite female characters in Anna’s Shifter books. I’d love to go into detail about why, but I know I’d end up going into spoilers, and that’s something I promised myself I’d never do. Oh, the torture!
Look, if you’re not too sure about this series, but kinda wanna give them a shot, PICK THIS BOOK! You will not be sorry, I promise, because “Lure of the Bear” is my favorite of the three books that have released so far. Yes, it does have some steamy scenes, and there’s some violence, but there’s a happy ending, no cheating, and you CAN read and enjoy it without having read the others first. You’ll get a bit more out of it if you read the others, but I can honestly say that if you read “Lure of the Bear” first, you’ll want to go back and read “Lure of the Dragon” and “Lure of the Wolf”.

Mate, his bear hummed happily. There’s our mate. Hunter had only ever been sweet to her. Why couldn’t she bring herself to trust him? You’re not afraid of him. You’re afraid of falling in love. HOLY FUR & FANGS! What a FANGTABULOUS story!! Like the keen *cough BOOK cough* Hunter that I am, I was chomping at the bit because this Bear was just what I wanted, what I needed, so no luring required!! I have been waiting for Hunter's book ever since I met him in book 1 and that desire increased every time I found out more about him, and I have to say that not only was the wait worth it, but Anna hit this one right outta the beach and into the ocean! IT. IS. FAN-FURRY-TASTIC. I love, Love, LOVE EVERY SINGLE part of it! Some parts had me laughing so hard I was crying, while some had me holding my breath, just waiting to see what would happen next, some had me panting, gasping, cringing, freaking out and yes, there was even a few parts that had me bawling because they were either so sweet, or so sad or just outright broke my heart! Lure of the Bear had me from the start, holding my attention from beginning to end, captivating me so much I couldn't put it down until I had nothing left to read!! One of my favorite features in a shifter book is when the animal side gets its own personality, or in this case - BEARALITY, and Anna does this so ABSO-SHIFTING-LUTELY PAWFECT!! Bear had me in stitches more often than not, but he did have me crying a couple of times too. The only example I feel that I can share that doesn't give too much away is this one - "What if we beg her to make us hers? his bear tried. Would that work?" I giggle every time I read that because I can just picture Bear pondering on how to make Dawn his mate, all child-like innocent, but almost panicky too! With her rich, detailed descriptions & beautifully unique style of emotion infused storytelling, the extraordinarily talented Anna Lowe not only brings the story to life around me, but ensures that it is a feast for ALL of my senses! I can see the beautiful Maui scenery, the owl flying over me, the gorgeous hunk of Bear in front of & beside me, I can feel the sand between my toes, the refreshing ocean water, Hunter's incredibly soft fur and his arms around me, I can smell the flowers, all of that sumptuous food and Hunter, I can hear the ocean, the purring of Keiki, the tremble in Hunter's voice when... My point is that I not only feel like I really am there, that I not only have met & become good friends with the characters, but that I AM the characters and I am reading - living - MY story through the eyes of my best friend who was there with me!! I am wholly, utterly and completely consumed - mind, body, heart, soul and spirit by this precious gem of a story!! “destiny has its own way of revealing things.”

Time to return once again to the beautiful islands of Hawaii where anything is possible, even your wildest dreams, for Hunter and Officer Dawn’s romance. This one is going to touch your emotions.
We’ve become slowly aware of the fact that there is something between our grizzly bear shifter, Hunter and police officer Dawn. Her determination at catching the speed limit breaking shifters of Koa Point has become a bit legendary… even if she only gives them warnings… and even if one man is certain to always be a bit heavy on the gas on that particular stretch of road. It’s been a nice side touch, knowing at some point Dawn would be more important to the series than giving out speeding tickets. Then, if you’re following the series, an event happened in the last story, Lure of the Wolf, that puts everything Dawn knows and understands into question – and brings a bit more sorrow to one shifter who loves her.
Hunter’s history is heartbreaking and helps us understand the man he is today far better. Dawn’s past has served to develop her into the woman of strength and fortitude that she is today as well. Our past always affects our present and future – and this is certainly true for this couple. They have a rough road to travel before the love and trust flows naturally between them. Danger abounds, another Spirit Stone awakens, an evil rears it’s putrid head once again and two people fight for the right cause and for each other’s lives.
Lure of the Bear is an emotional story, one full of the craziness of a celebrity wedding bridezilla included. It’s also full of the belief that love will win in the end, that loving someone is never wrong even if you have to wait years for that love to be returned. I got a chuckle from the mention of that “funky Blue Moon Saloon” in Arizona – and if you’ve read Anna Lowe’s other series you’ll get that one, too. Each new story in this series only reinforces my belief that this is Anna Lowe’s best yet and I cannot wait for what she has in store for us next.
If you’re in the mood for some sexy shifters, a dangerous villain, some silly antics of a bridezilla on a rampage, fast action, a touch of mystery and that feel of stepping back into the spell of Magnum, P.I. once again – then Lure of the Bear is the story for you. I’d highly recommend this story and this series for any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. While I suppose they really don’t “have” to be read in order, I would highly suggest that you start from the beginning for some things, characters and events do overlap a bit at times. Besides, it’s a great series so it’s no chore to start at the beginning.

WOW! This is an incredible series that I love reading. I am a paranormal romance junkie and I have always been a big fan of all Shifters but Bear-shifters I absolutely love. Oh My this series by Anna Lowe is a incredible, phenomenal and exciting. I love reading her books! I dove headfirst and fell in love with Hunter's big soulful eyes, he's strong, silent and steady. Her character males are truly the alphas of fantasy. But if you expect 'cheesy results' you're reading the wrong book. She allows you to feel each of the leads in their own way and they are more than real by the time you're read five pages. You will enjoy their happiness as much as you would your own, you want them to realize how much they belong together. Sometimes you may be tempted to scream or throw your book across the bed, or more than likely it will bring tears to your eyes or laugh out loud but you keep reading and love them even more with the descriptions of sexual scenes being so scorching Hot while this is a series that you can't wait to read the next story because it's one that you want to read over and over again. This book is the third phenomenal story in this series, having read the first two books of the series which are also a great read, however each book focuses on a different character and not needing to select the next book before starting to read it makes it easy to enjoy all of the characters. Each of these books are FAN-SHIFTER-TAS-TIC! They are Well Worth Reading..assuming you like paranormal romance with DRAGONS, WEREWOLVES, BEARS and TIGERS. What I love about Anna's writing is she is very talented and gifted about creating different abilities and mates for each different type of shifter with the evil character fitting in well without changing the tone during the storytelling and its done so well you can't help but to enjoy every character in the story. This is one series that I would want to read each one dozen of times in the future. What a AWESOME book and series to add to your TBR list. I'm so excited about reading the next book in this series. This is my favorite in the series so far and I highly recommend you read them all. In this one in particular, the relationship with the characters has been building in the last book.
Hunter and Dawn have known each other for many years but she just found out he is a bear shifter. Hunter knows Dawn is his mate and it is really hurting him to know she may never accept him. She has had to make tough decisions but this one may break her heart.
I really liked both Hunter and Dawn. Hunter is a gentle giant who is ferocious in protecting those he loves. He reveals he is a shifter to protect Dawn even knowing that it may damage his chances for a relationship. Dawn seems like a tough police officer who has it all together but she is really suffering inside with many insecurities about men and relationships. Hunter has been the one man she really feels comfortable with enough to take a chance on a relationship but she struggles with accepting that there is a whole world of paranormals she never knew existed. I loved how the author showed the growing closer and how careful Hunter was in providing her the support she needed but not taking control.
As with the other books in the series, there is a good amount of action in the story too. There have been some really nasty villains in this beautiful paradise. They continue on their mission to find and protect the gemstones that in the wrong hands could lead to so much destruction. Dawn is not one to stand by and let others take the risks so she gets into the action too.
There is a lot of humor related to a celebrity wedding being planned. The bride is a real nightmare and I smiled as she made all her demands and changes and really drove those around her crazy.
The kitten in the story is so sweet and really reveals that all the men have a softer side that they don't often show. I am really looking forward to seeing the other shifters in their little brotherhood find their mates too.

Lure of the Bear was a very interesting romantic suspense. This is Hunter's story he is the bear shifter of the group and the shy and lonely bear who watched his mother killed by Jericho Deroux a not a shifter but has the strength of a shifter and is determined to empower himself more but at the time he is still trying to get the pipeline completed that he had killed Hunters parents for their land. Hunter he seems to keep remembering this and the fact that he had to hide who he really was for along time until he came to Maui to live as a teen and met Kai the dragon shifter and Office Meli since then he has been so shy that he has not said a word to Officer Meli since before she became a cop and she found out they were all shifters and she had not even stopped them on the road as she did before she found out about them but Hunter has been so down and out that Boone the wolf shifter has taken the matter into his own hands and is speeding past Officer Meli and is shocked also when she doesn't come chasing them down for a ticket he makes a point to turn around so that they can talk but Hunter is to scared to say anything to Dawn because she looked like he was a monster the day that he killed a shifter wolf who was trying to kill her, but today something is happening as they stand there on the side of the road something is drawing them together but it is interrupted by a truck but it does change something in a way, Dawn and Hunter are both assigned to the job as security at the Vanderpelt wedding an they both realize that they are still in love with each other but it happens that Dawn is the one who is willing to speak up. There is so much going on and there are several story lines which keeps this book totally interesting. I was given a copy of this book as a gift by the author, and I am voluntarily reviewing it with no obligation.

Such a sweet, sweet story. Had a soft spot for Hunter from the beginning.
I believe due to the fact we have known Hunter and Dawn are mates from earlier books this was a bit slow in getting off the ground as we rehashed certain knowledge, good for new readers, slow for us following the series.
Once past this point though the story once again carried you along for a great ride.
We have known Hunter and Dawn are mates since book one but Hunter is so painfully shy, tongue tied around Dawn and unsure of himself. They were friends and nearly a bit more in high school but Hunter took off and joined the forces.
Having outed himself to Dawn to save her life he is feeling depressed thinking she is frightened of him and his bear. His dialogue with his bear was lovely.
Having to work security for their respective jobs at THE wedding of the century on the island gives them time to renew their friendship and for Dawn to relearn just what a big softie Hunter is where she is concerned. Hunter was just happy to be near Dawn.
Oh Hunter, how I wanted to just cuddle him once we learned about his past childhood horrors, how sad it was.
Dawn was a nice surprise as we knew so little about her apart from she loved to book the Koa Point shifters for speeding all the time. This made everything we learnt about her interesting. Even police officers have background stories, this is one very put together lady even with her past trauma.
Loved the wedding drama, talk about reality TV gone mad. Laugh out loud.
I also liked Dawn’s landlady Lily, what a hoot she was ogling all the men.
We have another Spirit Stone literally fall into our Koa Point shifters lap and didn’t it once again help vanquish the baddie. Loved that bit so much.
This is my honest review of this book.
I believe due to the fact we have known Hunter and Dawn are mates from earlier books this was a bit slow in getting off the ground as we rehashed certain knowledge, good for new readers, slow for us following the series.
Once past this point though the story once again carried you along for a great ride.

Wow, talk about excitement. If you haven’t already started this series, get at it! Jammed packed with lots of excitement and suspense, hurt and trust, and most of all, love that just won’t go away, each book will warm your heart even as it raises your heartbeat to the roof. Tough girl, officer Dawn Meli, has been in love with Hunter since she first laid eyes on him back in middle school, but his secret was recently revealed to her, and she’s not sure if she can trust him. Hunter doesn’t know what to do. The love of his life knows his secret, and even though he knows his beast would never hurt a hair on her, he just can’t find it in himself to drag his moping self up off the floor since the episode, and seek her out. He knows she’s been avoiding him, and he can’t blame her…not one bit. But when these two fated mates are thrown together to carry out the important job of “protection” for the bratty socialite during the time she, and her entourage, are on the island for what is touted to be the wedding of the century, they have to set all doubts aside and work together, as trouble finds them, giving them no choice but to find the trust they will need, not only to save their lives now, but hopefully to give them their chance at a future full of love together.

The third book in the series and it’s my favourite. Unlike Boon and Kai, Hunter is the strong silent type who doesn’t really seem to have a lot to say. Hunter has been in love with Dawn since they were teens and despite the feelings being mutual, they never took their friendship any further. As adults, Dawn is desperate for Hunter to show her how he feels but Hunter is just tongue tied whenever he’s around her and after revealing his inner bear to her in the last book, he’s even more tongue tied.
Despite two separate interventions by Boon and Dawn’s landlady Lily, Hunter and Dawn are still no further forward than they were..... until they are tasked with providing the security at a celebrity wedding. Forced to work together and spend so much time together, it is only after a third intervention by Kai that they finally get their act together. Everything goes swimmingly until Hunter tries speaks about the possibility of a Spirit Stone being stolen from the bride to be.
We learn about Hunter’s back story, the reason he left Alaska and why he’s the semi recluse he tries to be but we also meet his nemesis Jericho and learn exactly why Hunter hates him so much. Lily was a new character to the mix and her mischievousness was highly amusing. We also got to know Cruz a little bit more and Keiko is certainly able to bring out the gentle side to both Hunter and Cruz.
I’m not sure who will find their mate next but I’m certainly looking forward to meeting whoever it is that can tame Cruz or Silas.

Third story in Aloha Shifters plays out romance between adorably shy, 'Gentle Giant' Hunter and 'the one who got away', his High School crush Dawn Meli who is now a Police Officer. She has briefly appeared in the other stories in this series and I love how their connection and long term yearning has built through Officer Meli often stopping 'the Boys' to issue traffic tickets.
Hunter is sigh-worthy. I just melt for a man who is tall and very strong, but is capable of great gentleness. The introduction of Keiki the calico cat creates serious 'aahh' moments as Hunter and Cruz instinctively cuddle the kitten.
This story provides more action and mystery and new villains against a background of a Celebrity Wedding. It also provides a demonstration of the power of the Spirit Stone that comes to this couple. I would love to hear more about Hunter and Dawn and how their lives mesh in the future....
It was charming how mated Females Tessa and Nina, Dawn's Landlady and even the guys on the team worked so hard to create occasions to get Hunter and Dawn together. Still loving the tropical beauty of Hawaii as a backdrop for the story. I am looking forward to the next book with enigmatic Cruz the Tiger Shifter. I highly recommend readers sign up for Anna's Newsletter to access the Bonus Scene epilogues that have heartfelt 'what happened after' moments.

This is the third book in the Aloha Shifters: Jewels of the Heart series and the one I couldn't wait to read. If you've read the other books in the series, you've seen Officer Dawn Meli and Bear shifter Hunter dance around each other quietly. Hunter knows that Dawn is his mate and he wants her so badly. But he feels that Dawn would never accept him as a shifter especially after she watched him shift and kill someone in a previous book.
While I couldn't wait to read this book, I loved how you got to see the long history between the two of them and the sadness that has followed both of them. They both have so much to work through and overcome in order to be able to be together. It's so sweet to see how this big bear becomes so tongue tied whenever he's near Dawn. Or how shy Dawn is around Hunter.
This is a sweet, loving story of taking chances, overcoming pain and of course a lot of drama! How can they not been meant for each other? Things happen for a reason. So, this is just a glimpse. Officer Dawn Meli has been secretly in love with Hunter Bjornvald since they were teens. However, Hunter has known she was his mate. When we last seen these two in Boone and Nina's story Officer Meli was getting ready to be attacked so Hunter's bear killed it and then shifted in front of her disclosing their secret. He had to explain about shifters and begged her not to report them. Now, that we all caught up. They are both assigned to the wedding on the fabulous resort for Regina Vanderbilt. Something dark and dangerous is on this island because of this wedding along with another stone. It so happen to be my favorite..But I'm not telling. This story is so pack with jealously, a woman who can definitely take care of herself, but a shifter who will definitely takeout the world for his mate. The women in this series ate strong, powerful and determine to pull their own. And this one, she actually takes down the bad guy...that's all I'm saying . Each book in this series gets better and better. I love each of the characters and the mystery of the gem stones.
This book centers around Hunter and Officer Dawn Meli who are both imperfect characters with baggage. While it seems like they take a long time to work through their issues, it was gratifying to see them working through the process of learning to trust again. Hunter’s shyness and unwillingness to cause further upset to Dawn was sweet and endearing. Dawn’s reactions to discovering that shifters exist came across as realistic and well written. I think it really helped that she grew up knowing Hunter and his foster family.
I loved how the other characters in the story were so supportive of their relationship and even set up moments for Hunter and Dawn to interact. I loved Lily and her flirting with all the guys at Koa Point. She's freaking adorable. Grumpy, overprotective Silas even made me laugh at one point in the story.
Cruz's story is up next and I can't wait.
