Sports Camp has everything twelve-year-old Greyson Gray needs to distract him from his father's mysterious disappearance - intense athletic competition, weird friends, and a pretty girl.
But when Greyson stumbles upon a terrorist's sinister plot brewing in the observatory, a place already haunted by a chilling camp legend, he suddenly toils with two dueling worlds - one of lurking danger and mystery, the other of competition and awkward romance. Spurred on by his father's words to do what's good no matter the danger, Greyson and his faithful friends must mount a daring and coordinated heist on the observatory in order to save thousands of lives.
Threaded with witty, sarcastic humor and gritty suspense, Camp Legend puts you in Greyson's shoes not only as he battles evil in thrilling chases, but also as he deals with his awkward first crush, menacing bullies, and the loss of his father.
Prepare to laugh out loud and fall in love with the characters as the Greyson Gray series begins with a bang.
B.C. wrote the Greyson Gray Series to give today's children a real-to-life hero who is worthy of admiration - one who searches for truth, fights for justice, and dares to do good no matter the costs. Along with Greyson, B.C. added lovable characters with signature humor and a deep plot that grows with its characters both emotionally and intellectually. He believes modern readers are longing for powerful new stories that are both clean and exciting without any dumbing down.
He has a background in film, and many readers notice how his novels read like an action movie (and would make an amazing TV mini-series someday.) Just like a movie director, he prefers to stay behind the scenes; though he has greatly appreciated how many readers have fell in love with the series. He loved reading as a child, especially the Animorphs, Hardy Boys, and the Left Behind series, so it is a joy for him to give young readers another beloved series to add to their bookshelves.

Greyson Gray: Camp Legend By: B.C. Tweedt Narrated by: Gordon Greenhill This book starts out as a typical camp book with unique characters as campers and counselors. That changes when Grayson finds out not everyone in the camp is who they say they are! Lots of action, a good but if suspense and mystery, good characters and plot, mixed with bits of humor and kids being kids! Fun and interesting! The narration was great.
THIS IS AN AWESOME BOOK!!!!!!!!!!! This book is about Greyson Gray, a normal athletic middle schooler. He goes to this summer camp. In the camp there are teams so there is a little competition in the book. Anyway, Greyson where his red fathers hat that is very special to him. One day on retrieving it, he stumbles on a sinister evil terrorist plot that could kill thousands of people. After being threatened of death he and his friends devise a plan to stop the terrorists. WARNING: this book is so good you'll find yourself on the edge of your seat staying up to 11:00 on a school night. you have been warned!
This is an exciting well written adventure which captures the personality, quirks, and issues of young boys at camp. It highlights their loyalty to one another in spite of all odds. The perilous ending makes this work impossible to put down.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There were parts that had me laughing out loud. Other scenes were full of tension and suspense. I have always wondered what happens at camp, as my parents never sent me to one. Even aside from all the after-dinner craziness at this camp, I do not think I would have lasted more than an hour with all the activities the kids had to do during the day. At least they seemed to enjoy themselves. Well, except for Patrick. My only complaint is what happened with the rifle at the very end. I would have liked it to be used differently. I would happily read the continuing adventures of Greyson and his camp buddies.
Youth reading at its best! Parents, get your middle schooler to the library and into this outstanding series for great summer reading! As a teacher, I am always on the lookout for INTERESTING yet age appropriate literature. Too often, those requirements are mutually exclusive. Greyson Gray is exceptional! The characters are aUthentic, the plot suspenseful, and the protagonist a moral role model, full of integrity. THIS IS A WINNER!
This is the first book in the series, and it is really good. Greyson, the main character has "lost" his dad and is forced into a wonky camp by his mom, who wants greyson to have some fun. As Greyson arrives at camp legend, he discovers that this wonky camp has a lot of wonky people. But seriously though, Greyson's camp is way more interesting than any I have been to before. I mean they literally get to use shotguns. And they also have random crazy minded terrorists who try to bomb the camp. that pretty much sums up camp legend. His many weird friends have a lot of weird abilities. One of them can tell the future, one of them is really depressed, and let's say they are pretty much all not popular (except Jarryd, who's popular with the ladies). The counselor of the group is Brandon. They hide a lot of secrets from him. As camp goes on, they reveal a group of terrorists who are hiding in they camp and are planning to attack it. and so Greyson and his friends at camp start to form a plan to stop these terrorists. "Do the good that has to be done."I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure and action., especially dealing with crime like terrorism.
“Greyson Gray: Camp Legend” by B.C. Tweedt is such a good book. A tErRoRiSt attack brewing in a place called the observatory. It is already haunted by a creepy legend of the Eyes of Eyes who killed 12 childs(not children) and finally killed himself because he was stupid(jk. I don’t want to give any spoilers). Also, another so called lEgEnD is about Paul Newton, a twin killer who kills twins(as the name suggests). Lemme tell ya more, Greyson Gray has friends, weird friends like what the blurb says. The first one, Sammy likes peanuts. The second one Austin can predict the future(but not very well). The third one is Patrick who is depressed. There is also Nick and Jarryd the twins who are scared of Paul Newton. Then there’s Liam who stutters a lot and finally Brandon, Cowboys Gold’s counselor. Now there is also a PRETTY GIRL who is called Sydney that like Greyson Gray and Greyson likes her back. Now an important object in the story that is Greyson’s hat. It is Greyson’s last memory of his dad that went to Africa and probably died. Now I shall say no more so you can go and read it yourself. Pass the book on and read it for centuries! (Jk)
I read this as a read-aloud to my students during Summer Enrichment. Every day they were so excited for read-aloud time and didn't want me to stop reading for lunch. We read two to three chapters a day and stopped for review and predictions.
Greyson goes to a sports camp and tries to have a fun time, even though he has been having a rough time after his father went missing. He meets all kinds of characters, his counselor is Brandon, his roomie is Luke and he meets a variety of other personalities. One of the kids stutters, there is a set of twins that are day and night different, a guy that reminds the kids of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, a girl and a bunch of bad guys.
I haven't downloaded the next book in the series. It took just enough time to complete the first book and we may read the second when we return for the second part of Summer Enrichment.
There is some violence and innuendo that I may have mumbled, but other than that the kids loved it! The action scenes were written so well we could "see" them happening. LOVED IT!
Maybe I’m biased about this because I’m a female, three sport athlete. Maybe I should’ve known not to even pick this book up because it’s written for hormonal, seventh grade boys by a male author.
Nonetheless, I read it anyways. Is it addictive? Yes. Is it quirky? Yes. Realistic? No, but it’s a fictional book. What made me mad was the depiction of girls. This is a sports camp, right? So why are the girls so obsessed with makeup? The types of girls who go to sports camps are the types of girls who want to compete. Also, quite frankly, Greyson is a jerk. Why would Sydney like him??? There are just awkward and entirely unrealistic passages in here too, such as a group hug between ten adolescent boys who had otherwise been rude to each other. Like… what? At an awkward time, too. So the lesson here is that all girls are dense except Sydney, but she’s helpless and in need of a big, strong, man, too.
“Sports Camp has everything twelve-year-old Greyson Gray needs to distract him from his father’s mysterious disappearance – intense athletic competition, weird friends, and a pretty girl. But when Greyson stumbles upon a terrorist’s sinister plot…”
I picked up “Greyson Gray: Camp Legend (Book One)”, by B.C. Tweedt and wasn’t really expecting it to be very good, but I was pleasantly surprised. Imagine a summer camp kid mixed with James Bond, add in well-remembered pre-teen sass and angst, and you’ve got this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it! At times there was something VERY uncharacteristic that happened (what 12 year old boy is going to notice that the girl’s skin is perfect?), but overall the book was well-written and enjoyable. There IS quite a bit of violence (not terribly gory), but it is what you might expect from a “Bond, Greyson Bond” storyline. I’m giving it 3-1/2 adult stars, although I bet it would be more like 4 or 5 stars for the intended audience.
Wow! Talk about a page turner! Once the evil was exposed, the story really took off. The author has done a great job at creating multiple characters to keep the story relevant for just about any audience. The mystery itself is unraveled pretty early in the book, but that doesn’t stop the reader from wanting to find out if Greyson and his friends will be successful. I enjoyed the quick pace and dry humor of the book, and it would very much appeal to action-seekers. That being said, the target audience of 9-12 year olds seems a little young. There is a lot of violence and death in this book, as well as unrealistic expectations of both ability and effects of the actions which take place. As an independent novel, I would put the age range as 12 and up. Regardless, it is an enjoyable action-packed book and would add it to your TBR.
Greyson is a 12 year old at summer camp. Without any training (other than completing dares) he finds himself stopping a terrorist attack. The plot is very exciting and the characters are very real. Due to the nature of the topic there are deaths and not a completely happy ending so probably not for younger then 11 or 12 year-olds to read. Very fun and kept me reading. I received a copy of the book.
My God it's amazing love/comedy/adventure/blood/bones/and cringing! I recommend it for 11 and up!!! I was my favorite please sell the book on Amazon fire tablet for free!! Please?!😁
It ISSSS THEEEEE BESSSST!!!!!I love it with dear LIFE!!!! I love you B.C.TWEEDT!YOU DA BEST!!!! PLEASE MAKE AMAZON FIRE TABLET MAKE ALL THESE BOOKS FREEEEEEEEE! I DESERVE IT BECAUSE I WRITE A GOOD REVEWWW!!!! IF YOU DON'T I WANT TO HAVE A FREAKING REFUDDDDD YOU WILL REGRET pleaseessssssssssssssss
Greyson the main character goes to a sports camp to forget about his dads disappearance.Their is meets new friends and a pretty girl It starts to go bad when he overhears the cooks talking about a plan, then the same cook chokes him. Greyson sneaks out to see what the cooks are up to,he find out they are planing an attack in the observatory. I think this is a great book because it changes perspective a lot .It has a lot of action too!
I think Greyson Gray Camp Legend was a pretty bad book. While it was funny at times and suspenseful at times, I just found it plain boring. I encourage you to read this book and see for yourself. Greyson Gray the main character is a kid who lost his dad. Its just a normal sports camp with competitions over sports, and ladies. Until terrorists plan to attack. What will Greyson Gray and his friends do...
This was a really good book. It started out a little cheesy mostly because of the age group it’s geared to, but it kept my attention the whole time. There is a lot of action and adventure in this story that kinda keeps you guessing the outcome till the last few minutes of the book. I’m going to recommend it to my 12 year old son.
I have the book 4 stars only because I question the deaths which occur in the novel. I am no prude but I question the appropriateness of deaths occurring ( even if it was only the villians) due to the actions of 13 and 14 year old children. The mystery, comedy, and adventures keep the reader asking for more.Great descriptions and driving action.
I liked this story—the male characters were interesting and quirky, there was an overload of action and suspense that kept me turning the pages. I gave it only three stars because I wondered where all the smart, sporty girls at the sports camp. Plus I didn't like the deaths of the villains by the kids. But a good read for 11 years up.
My 12yr old son and I really enjoyed reading this book. There was a good amount of mystery, action, and humor. The characters were funny (and fun to read in different voices). There was good diversity too.
My sons favorite part was Greyson and Sydney’s horse race.
I got this one for my 10 year old cousin for Christmas, but I wanted to make sure to read it, too! I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, and I think a pre-teen boy would find it interesting. My one complaint is I wish the characters set a better model in terms of how they speak to each other. However, as a 7th grade teacher, it definitely mirrors and slightly improves on how 7th grade boys talk.
It’s good read it. U should get it. It is free for u to read unless ur broke and have no devices. Btw how did u even get on this website without any devices connected to the internet.
Although this is an entertaining book it is more for tween agers to young adults. It is like summer camp on steroids. There are a lot of emotions packed into this story. Humor, tension, teenage angst, heartbreak, heartwarming and more.
Books like this are so informational for children and hold such a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoy reading books, like this one and many others to my children, for if you start them young then they will grow to have a love for reading and adventure!
This book was amazing. The plot line of Greyson and his friends finding out about the nuclear launch, and stopping it, is great. The corruption of the police force, the nuclear missile being hidden in the planetarium, all amazing.

The book was pretty slow. There were some exciting parts near the end, but definitely not my favorite. The writing felt very choppy and hard to read. It just didn’t feel as if it flowed well. I read it with my 12 year old son, and we were both sort of glad it was over.
