This 5k short includes workplace romance themes, meddling besties, Instagram posts gone wrong, and the very real aftermath of a certain someone becoming downright twitterpated.

I only keep a small list of my very favorite books and series in my bookshelf here. I read A LOT and it's hard to keep the list updated!
I love a shy and geeky main character, but Sheldon honestly just gave me secondhand embarrassment. It wasn’t really cute or endearing, it was just awkward.
Considering this is so short, the romance unsurprisingly had less than zero depth and the couple had absolutely no connection between them whatsoever.
The dialogue also just made me feel a little bit uncomfortable because it was so bad.
I did like the premise though, and I think that if it had been written better and/or longer, it could have been pretty nice. However, as it was now, I simply wouldn’t recommend it.
A MM workplace romantic short-story! I found this as I wanted something short but sweet & oh boy 🙈. The story idea had potential, I even kinda liked it. But omg, the narration is.... Ugh. I can give story 4⭐ but for that narration, it's going down to 3⭐. It's only ~30minutes but what a ride!
This was my 1st Michael Dean narrated audiobook & while his Carter voice was grumbly, hard to get. Monotone. Especially when compared to his Sheldon voice which has personality, maybe too much, so dramatic— it's hilarious 😅. In hindsight, it's cringy, especially when I did try other Lucy books he narrated where he did a FAR BETTER job. So does Sheldon sounds like that on purpose? He did the female voices way better here 😁.
Carter & Sheldon work in same office but different departments, have crushes on eachother. Sheldon is kinda clueless so he unknowingly rejects the charming Carter's advances. They're both fools & adorkable in their own ways as shown in the story lol. Thankfully, S's bestie comes in clutch & helps them get together by a little hacking. The plot is exactly what's in the blurb. It's funny & cute in that rom-com-y way. We don't get to see 'em together as its fade to black, I'm not that mad about it.
Audiobook+Story ratings: POV: 1st Person, Dual POV Narration: Single, Michael Dean 1) The Characters: 4/5 2) The Feels: 😅😯🙈😂🤨😏🙂🥰😚 3) Sexy/Steamy times: 0/5 (fade to black) 4) Levels: Lowish Angst, Kinda Cute, No Dark 5) Build up & Style: 3/5 (it's short, kudos for potential) 6) Voice acting: 4/10 (Bad, kinda cringe)
Very cute, sweet quick story about Sheldon, a very adorkably shy IT guy and Carter, seemingly cool and manly but also a little adorkable as well, and some cute and silly shenanigans ensuing as they try to get that first date with each other and eventually, after some funny mishaps, succeed.
Carter and Sheldon work at the same company but different departments. With the help of Sheldon's best friend, Alex, a first date is proposed and accepted. Sadly, Sheldon had no head's up before he went headfirst into the coffee table upon Carter's arrival. An adorkable short story inspired by one of the author's readers/fans in her Facebook group.
Sheldon has a crush on his co-worker Carter but is too shy to act on it. Until his best friend hacks into his Instagram and asks Carter officially out on a date.
Was cute and funny but at the end a bit over the top.
Such a cute short story. Obviously since it’s a short story there’s not a whole lot of depth or character development but enough that we get to know enough about Sheldon to connect with him.
I’d love it if he showed up in a book as a secondary character now that we know him.
How I wish this was longer, it was so cute with the very shy and nervous IT guy and the hot coworker he never expected could be interested in him while instead was crushing hard since the beginning!
i generally find Lucy Lennox’s work quite good and very funny; her sense of humor just seems to align perfectly with my own. this was quite a cute story, but for some reason only around half the jokes landed for me here. and with the story being so short and most of the book being jokes, i just couldn’t bring myself to give this anything above three stars.
Literally NO CLUE how I missed reading "Shy Sheldon" 2-3 year ago when I was binge-reading Lucy Lennox's things. No clue. Better late than never though ;) ["When adorkable Sheldon Whitehall’s best friend hacks his social media account to make it look like Sheldon is asking his co-worker on a date, poor Sheldon freaks out. Meddling friends (Lucy trademark). Instagram posts gone wrong (happened to me very recently--though not in a fun, rom-com kinda way). Adorkable meets hot. Sign. Me. Up.
Lucy never fails to make me smile, laugh, and wish for my own perfectly imperfect person. This short novella was just what I needed.
A very short fun story, made shorter by speeding up the narration. Sheldon is helped by his best friend (unbeknown to him) to ask out Carter, but that's after Carter gets the wrong idea about Sheldon's best friend.
It is an endearing story, well worth the read/listen, and, as always, a great book by Lucy Lennox. Its story will keep you entertained from start to finish, with its delightful humour woven throughout.
Michael Dean is a great narrator and doesn't disappoint. His performance adds a new layer of depth to the story. I did speed up to 1.20 on Audible.

I wanted to read a short book and this was perfect. I was laughing so hard that I was crying happy tears with how this went. Sheldon and Carter are awesome. Alex is a great meddling best friend who gets these two together. I wish there was a little more or a sequel with that last thought that Sheldon had before the book ended. I just didn't want it to end and am so glad at how this book came about with a comment on Lucy's page. The reference to the Love, Simon movie was perfect too. One of my favorites. Thanks for writing this
Sweet, but....way too short to even flesh out the two MMCs, let alone the solitary secondary character, Sheldon's best friend. It reads like an author's plotline for a full-length novel when, in fact, it is a rushed novelette. I hated giving it only three stars (my first for one of Lucy's works) because despite a few giggles, four stars simply could not be justified. Lucy, if you see my review, please reconsider the format and amend it with an actual full-length book.
Such a cute short! It could have been waaaaaay more intrusive, after all, the best friend essentially force sets the two men up. But there is a whole thing about the fact that both men are interested in each other and just really, really, REALLY bad at it. It was adorkable and sweet with meddling friends in just the right way and such a fun little story.
Silly but in a fun way. I knew this was just a short story but I was disappointed there wasn’t more to it. We spend more time with the BFF than the characters spend together. It needed more of a conclusion than “yeah, they are going to have sex.” The word “adorkable” should not be said this many times in just a handful of pages.
