I love the simplicity to Estelle Hs stories. Low drama, good angst and always doting men who love their ladies.
I’m so appreciative of her willingness to write about women who are richer shades of brown in a world where so many other beautiful complexions are solely celebrated and fawned over. Of course we love all shades, but who doesn’t love chocolate 🍫
The ONLY thing I would change is that sometimes I want at least one couples spat. Just one! That might be my toxic trait 😂
Otherwise, her novels are precious! Like a comfort read on a rainy day
I was totally & completely swept away by gentle giant, Big Oak & his pretty Pippy😍. This ✍️ has a distinct writing style that will have have you swooning one minute & then LOL😆the next, with her killer sense of humor! Expect to vascilate between grins & smirks on every page, especially with Oak being a surprisingly total freak in the BR😉 What I loved most about this novel, is how realistic & organic the MC's developed & nurtured their relationship, with honesty, transparency, lack of guile, deception, or unnecessary drama. This story will stay with me for years to come. The epilogue was the chef's 💋 Happy reading🍷
I read a lot of romantic themed books. Most are mediocre or really bad some are interesting and very few hold my attention until the very end. This was an enjoyable read it made smile The characters were well defined all with their own personalities giving them more depth. I have read a few of the authors books but, I think I enjoyed this read the most. Looking forward to reading more about the town of Upwood and its current and new inhabitants!!
Good to see Jade and Eric and the boys. Surprised they're not married yet. I absolutely adore Upwood! Live the small town feel with a big loving heart. Oakland and Piper fit well together. Enjoyed meeting all of the new couples and the things that bring them together. I look forward to seeing who is next in the Upwood series. Wonder what they will name the not so tiny human. Love is so amazing with the right person.
The romance was straight forward and there wasn’t any will they/won’t they. It was clear cut. I enjoy when there aren’t any games played just because. Time doesn’t rule emotion, and I enjoy when my romance isn’t ruled by something as irrelevant as time.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked that it wasn't drama filled. He had spice and a good romance. I love insta-love stories. I wanted more of them. One of my favorites I read this year already!
I love the story, and loved how Piper and Oakland were made for each other. I wanted to hear why Oakland’s mother left and if Piper’ mother ever realized what really was important in life.
Simple read if you want something light! Not much happens in the plots but if you want a hallmark vibe type or romance that’s light hearted, this is for you. Oak was grumpy and piper was his sunshine
Lovely story about how the newcomer's persistence and perky attitude wear down the grumpy loner. Their romance moves quickly but it's full of valuable experiences along the way.
I enjoyed this story line , Estelle this was a great way to start the series. Oak was everything in this story , him being the grumpy mountain man and pip just a ray of sunshine. He couldn’t resist
This was the cutest cozy book, that I didn't know I needed! The pace was nice,it was relatable, funny and with a nice dash of spice. This is my first read from this author,I'm definitely looking forward to more!
This is a good story. It reads like a naughty Hallmark story in a good way. It’s the kind of book you read when you want the spice but need a break from mafia, suspense, psycho….you catch my drift.
I was so excited to read Piper’s love story. I’m delighted she found her man because she deserved happiness. And Oak’s roughness and personality I truly enjoyed.
This is s great book if you want an easy, wintery, steamy read with a competent Black woman and a grumpy lumberjack type with no drama. Just what I needed.
