Wow. I can't believe it has taken me a year to rate/review this book. But I'm glad I waited. I had some very strong opinions about this book the first time I read it and I became hyper-focused on everything I didn't like and all the discrepancies. By doing so, it took all the enjoyment out of reading. This time around, I was determined to just get lost in the book.
Logan and Poppy have been together since Collateral Damage. The moment these two met, sparks started flying and their chemistry was off the charts. You would have to be blind not to see this and just know that these two would end up together.
With events that happened in Collateral Damage and Fallout, the journey for Logan and Poppy was not an easy one. There was a lot of hurt, pain, and trauma that they had to overcome. At times it seemed like it was them against the world. But the love that these two have for each other was unbreakable. They knew that together, they could face anything. Watching these two get their HEA had me letting out all the little dreamy sighs.
While I enjoyed the journey of Logan and Poppy, there were things that I just couldn't get past. I'm not going to go into detail because I don't want to ruin the experience for other readers. What I will say is, had the first half of the book matched the second half of the book, this easily would've been a 5 star read.
I loved that Ms. Deel stepped outside of the box on this one and hope she continues to surprise us in future books.
