Logan Fletcher, Fortress Security operative, thought he had all the time in the world to win the heart of the woman of his dreams. Turns out he was dead wrong. After he learns Poppy is missing, Logan and his team race to rescue her and track down the men responsible. Although Logan vows to make the criminals pay, the situation isn't as clear cut as it appears. An explosive secret lies at the heart of Poppy's kidnapping, and the man responsible won't stop until he succeeds. Too bad for him he'll have to go through Logan first.

Poppy Reynolds, ace reporter and true crime writer, thrives on a tough challenge. Lately, though, her entire life has been a challenge. Take, for instance, her trip downstairs for coffee in the middle of the night. She never expected to face kidnappers in her kitchen. After a harrowing escape from their clutches, the hunt begins to unearth the culprit behind the scheme before Poppy loses everything she holds dear, including the man she loves. The stakes are high, and time is short. If Poppy and Logan are lucky, they'll live to unmask the mastermind.

Wow. I can't believe it has taken me a year to rate/review this book. But I'm glad I waited. I had some very strong opinions about this book the first time I read it and I became hyper-focused on everything I didn't like and all the discrepancies. By doing so, it took all the enjoyment out of reading. This time around, I was determined to just get lost in the book.

Logan and Poppy have been together since Collateral Damage. The moment these two met, sparks started flying and their chemistry was off the charts. You would have to be blind not to see this and just know that these two would end up together.

With events that happened in Collateral Damage and Fallout, the journey for Logan and Poppy was not an easy one. There was a lot of hurt, pain, and trauma that they had to overcome. At times it seemed like it was them against the world. But the love that these two have for each other was unbreakable. They knew that together, they could face anything. Watching these two get their HEA had me letting out all the little dreamy sighs.

While I enjoyed the journey of Logan and Poppy, there were things that I just couldn't get past. I'm not going to go into detail because I don't want to ruin the experience for other readers. What I will say is, had the first half of the book matched the second half of the book, this easily would've been a 5 star read.

I loved that Ms. Deel stepped outside of the box on this one and hope she continues to surprise us in future books.

Way to change things up!!

It’s no secret that I enjoy a great romantic suspense, and this author delivers it well. I have to say I’ve been saddened lately by the drop in quality of this book series, and haven’t loved the last few books. While this new book still has some issues, I applaud the author’s efforts to change things up!

Poppy and Logan’s story was more unique, with some interesting plot twists and some stark differences that really set this book apart from others in the series!!! I enjoyed seeing some old and familiar characters from other books, and gritted my teeth while seeing other characters I despise (Ivan and Beverly, anyone?!). The conclusion of the story was satisfying as well as super surprising, and unlike anything this author has written before, which I liked.

This story still has a few errors and issues, and I liked the second half of the book much more than the first, but still a great and fresh take on a romantic suspense book from this series!

Skeletons are uncovered and Poppy is stunned

Logan has been waiting, supporting Poppy and helping her heal, he knows she is his but he also knows she isn't ready for him. When she is kidnapped again, he knows he has to show his hand, he loves her too much to hide it. Logan has so much love and respect for Poppy, but even he underestimates just how strong she is. I love that they come together and form a stronger bond, including a united front to her parents...parents I have lost respect for the more we see of them, I wasn't a huge fan in Sage and Brody's book, but here I am pretty disgusted with them.
Another fantastic book in the series and we have a peek into Jesse and the spirited woman who has claimed his heart...let the fireworks commence!
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Awesome read. I didn't know there would be any more books in this series, so it was a nice surprise in the author's newsletter.

The book was an intense suspense and drama filled read, and I could not put it down. I finished it at 2:30 am - glad I have the next day off work.

Logan and Poppy were awesome, as was the rest of the team. The identity of Lynx was a shocker...didn't see that coming.

Glad I discovered this author. As with most of her books, there is no Christian content, but she writes a great special ops/secuity novel with no cursing or inappropriate content.

You Will Get Whiplash — in a Good Way

This book was non-stop octane from beginning to the end. It’s been awhile since I’ve enjoyed Ms. Deel’s books this much. It seemed as though some of the characters were taking on the same characteristics with the same themes in each book. With this book you get more originality, definitely mystery with who’s doing what, and what a way to end the story. I’ve been waiting for their story and it did not disappoint. Can’t wait for Jesse’s and Simones’s story which I hope is next.

Excellent read

The last two books of this series seem to me to be different to the others, they’re more gritty and realistic but still have the authors style. I thought this particular book was really good. It’s the story of Logan and Poppy. Both are interesting characters and as always there’s a great cast of supporting characters, moody of whom we’ve met previously.
A great story and worth than five stars xx

Poppy has been kidnapped again and she and Logan had only been married since the morning before. This is a very exciting book and Rebecca Deel always delivers us an awesome book.

Baby

I always love the first endearment. Usually in the heat of a battle or following a nightmare victory.

CIA turncoats. A hidden assassin. Biker gang. Warriors. Kisses.

Buy the book. Run a bath, light a candle, pop some popcorn and take a ride. Worth it.
