How much is a life worth? The scorching dark romanceCartel trilogy by the USA Today bestselling author now in one edition.
I grew up in Columbia, the daughter of a wealthy drug lord. I lived a life of extravagance, until one day a drug run went horribly wrong and everything came crashing down around me.
I was given away. A payment for a debt. The Gypsy Brothers motorcycle club became my owners, and I did everything I could to survive.
But falling in love with the man who owned me wasn't part of the plan ...

Okay, so I started this with all of the best intentions of like woo hoo it’s right up my alley. It has the cartel it has dark romance. It has brooding romance. It has everything I could possibly look for in a cartel romance book really, but I have to be honest, I don’t understand why these are international best selling, the writing is more statements than storytelling which is fine. In its own way. Not my thing. The perspectives is horrendous. It actually does not feel like that they characters at all, but a thought process I was really excited to start this, but unfortunately this is probably one of the most horrible books I’ve ever read and that includes stuff from Christopher Paloni. Unfortunately for the redeeming quality of this was that all three books were together in one which is why it gets to 2 stars? Otherwise, if there is anyway that I could give this zero it would be a zero
I’ve read a lot of cartel/mafia books, and this is the most real, most true telling of what it would be like for a woman in this life.
The good, the bad and the ugly.
The usual books I read in this genre is focused on love and love conquers all.
Never have I read a cartel book that goes this deep. This didn’t have the typical HEA. It was so different from anything else I have read.
I loved the POV’s. The men were written so different from the FMC. It wasn’t their book. They were just an added bonus of perspective for the readers benefit. It was fantastic.
As someone who reads 200+ books a year I have put this one in my top reads of 2024. Actually it’s the first book I’ve put as my top reads of 2024 and I’ve read 44 books so far.
A lot of the reviews on this book are awful. My review is to show that someone does love this book and thinks it’s a 5 star read, and people should read it and decide for themselves.
I'm all for some dark romance but this felt so sinister. I'm a victim of domestic violence from a partner and normally reading about it isn't so bad but this book was just full of so much abuse it made me sick. There was so much going on. I only finished the book because I never DNF but God this was a hard read
Poor, heavy criminal activities and poor language. Why say something interesting when you can fill the sentence with f..,s! Good writing can often have good swearing, but this book is not for me. Sadly 2 stars
So…I generally overall thought this book was actuals pretty good because even though I seriously hated the sorta-unhappy ending (#JUSTICE FOR JOHN!), it felt very…realistic and it showed how sometimes when things hit the fan, you gotta take what life gives you and get up. I liked how they gave Mariana, even though she descended into a type of dark side, it became in the end her own type of good/bad power, like it wasn’t corrupt and overly terrible like Dornan and Emilio and she was still able to make something of herself. But yeah the only reason I gave it minus 1 star was because there were quite a few intimate scenes that I felt deterred the main plot points and I felt were unnecessary, I think it’s just a personal preference.
