Such a cute twist to the canon series. this healed my heart.

extra star because the concept was so fucking good and then the writing had to go and be well bad. and why did the characters not mature like at all from the age of 6-17 they stayed the bloody same

i love these kinds of stories where somehow the past is changed and so the characters and their dynamics are different as well.
however, even though this had potential to be one of my all time favorite dramione fanfics (but i’m still going to reread someday), the writing was mediocre at best. plenty of grammar mistakes and the characters’ personalities remained the same since they were six, probably.
apart from that, i really enjoyed seeing how the story could’ve turned out had certain aspects of the past be changed.

this feels a bit like a knockoff of The Debt of Time, if Sirius and Remus were her dads, not boyfriends. Read too close together

Did this fanfic put all my childhood (and possibly adulthood as well) hopes and dreams in one book and give it to me to read, gush, and giggle at? Absolutely.
This fanfic is like a dream come true for anyone who grew up in the magical world of Harry Potter. It's packed with all the ships I've secretly (or not so secretly) rooted for, and then some. We have Rems and Sirius (my OTP for life!), Draco and Hermione, and even the unexpected pairing of Harry and Pansy Parkinson. Talk about a plot twist! And let's not forget Theo Nott and Daphne Greengrass adding to the mix.
However, while the plot is engaging and filled with twists, it does come at the expense of the relationships. There are so many couples and not nearly enough room to delve deeply into any of them. Even the main couple, Draco and Hermione, didn’t get as much development as I would have liked. But hey, when I’ve spent years mourning Remus's death repeatedly and crying every time, I learn to appreciate what I get in fanfics!
Overall, the plot is solid and creatively spins familiar details into fresh scenarios. Following Hermione’s journey from age six to seventeen is a rollercoaster of emotions. The punch scene from 'Prisoner of Azkaban' gets a hilarious new twist that had me laughing out loud.
That said, there are some cringy moments that made me facepalm (looking at you, certain pink toad-faced character). And the story needed a more satisfying conclusion—some plot threads were left hanging and felt forgotten. And while we're at it, I need to mention how whiny Hermione was in this book, girl cries more than a banshee.
In the end, if you're a fan of the Harry Potter universe and love a good fanfic filled with ships, drama, and a bit of humor, this one’s for you.
