And yeah, that's what it is. I do hope the next ones in the series are better because I think Mal is low key disgusting and North carries the story.

I felt bad for him and not having an aftercare moment after their scene so that was a bit shocking.

I finished this a few days ago and can’t remember much about it except that it was book one in an erotic series that needs to be read in order. It was okay and I may return to it if I need a filler book since they are perfect for that at about 50 pages each but I wasn’t dying to read the next one right away and I found it hard to stay focused hence the 2 stars.

Well, this was obviously ridiculous—but I was looking for a smut palate cleanser, and that’s exactly what I got. 45 pages of absolute wrongness, horniness,kinkyness and yum yum energy. Definitely continuing the series, because Mal and North demanded it. Horny crawl to the next one!

I really enjoyed Arden Long's dubcon/noncon series on Smashwords, but this felt like earlier writing (I think it is), and I didn't enjoy it.

It also broke one of my unwritten rules: NO talking to your erection or dick.

I don't usually read mainly erotic stories. Steamy romances? Absolutely. In Romance, I can read the cleanest or the dirtiest of romances, depending on my mood, hahaha. But, in general, stories that could be categorized as erotic don't usually grab my attention right away.

However, with this one, it was the opposite. The cover didn't say much to me (it's not the type of cover that immediately catches my eye), but I saw it in someone’s stories, and what she commented convinced me and made me think of reading this series from time to time.

I finally downloaded it on my Kindle, and there it stayed, like most ebooks do, until another girl on Instagram finally convinced me to read it. So, on my way home from work, I took out my phone and read this first part (which is barely 60 pages long) in the blink of an eye.

It's an erotic story, no doubt about that. And there's still no romance as it is. But there's potential. The serial format is not my favorite because I prefer to binge read and move on, but I admit it's a format that entices the readers and makes them long for more, and so, you can't help but rush for the next one when you finish, and so on until there's nothing left.

The premise of this story is simple: we have two completely opposite guys, North, a straight guy who’s the life of the party, the pretty face of the university whom everyone adores, and Mal, a gay guy (although I can't say if it's public knowledge because it's not mentioned), quite grumpy, serious, and totally different from North.

North thinks Mal hates him because he gives him hostile looks, doesn't talk to him, and gives off a cold vibe. But, in reality, Mal has a pretty big though unwanted crush for me. Everything changes between them when North catches Mal in a compromising situation and can't get him out of his mind, even though he had never thought of a man that way before. And things get worse when Mal finds out about everything, and seeing that North seems interested in him, he brings out his more dominant attitude out, which in turn brings out North’s submissive side. A powerful and hot combination.

Let's be clear, it's a very short story, so you can expect from it what you can expect. It's like the first bite of a cake: either you dislike it and stop eating, or it tempts you, and you want more and more until the cake is completely gone. I guess it worked for me because even though I'm not the biggest fan of short stories, since I was mentally prepared for the format this story follows and that each part has very few pages.

It was what I expected when I started reading it: an erotic story about two very different guys that I hope to continue getting to know, with a very promising relationship. And now I can’t wait to read more of it!
