So now the stage is set, and Sam has ID’d her foe. But this town’s not big enough for both, so one of them must go. But first, there’s a meeting, where they’ll come face-to-face. If they can’t work it out, there will be a gruesome race. But it’s not quite that simple, and for once, Sam is scared. This foe knows quite a bit about her, and the things of which she cares.
Not the best one so far but still okay. We finally discover who has been killing the citizens of Woodbrook - besides Sam of course. Sam tells this person to stop essentially stop shitting in her backyard as is bringing on too much attention. She's got herself a stalker...joy. Only this stalker has become a little miffed that Sam doesn't appreciate them and sets her up to take the fall for their as well as her extracurriculars. There's only two issues left and I can't wait to see how it turns out.
QUE. Ok, esto escaló muy rápido. Todo se fue a la mierda, pero queee. Pq fue la rata esa desearía ver como planeo todo esto idk. O sea está bien sigue siendo una buena historia pero necesito másssss.
This comic line is so disgustingly good and I can’t NOT wait to read the next one. If you like horror and criminal events this is definitely a must read 🐻🔪🐭
Lucky me, Goodreads had a little hiccup and reminded me to check for the new issueof Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees; and what a pleasant(?) surprise it was.
Stalkers are never a good thing to have, much less so copycat ones.
Sam is in quite a pickle as we speak. Hard to see how she can live laugh love out of this one. I CAN tell you that I'm definitely looking forward to it, though.
Title: Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees Author: Patrick Horvath Volume 4 of 6 Genre: horror, thriller, mystery, graphic novel Pages: 152 Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Meet Melody, a cat lover and the proprietor of Woodbrook's local butchery. Samantha, determined to expose the culprit behind the recent murders, turns her attention to Melody. As she delves into the depths of small-town life, Horvath uncovers unsavory details about Melody's past. The Rundown: Samantha identifies a suspect and takes drastic measures to uncover the truth. In the midst of a serial killer's reign of terror, fear and suspicion spread throughout the town of Woodbrook. Samantha, who suspects she may know the killer, takes it upon herself to find them before they are discovered by the rest of the town. After observing unsettling behavior from Melody, who recently lost her spouse, Samantha resorts to breaking into her home in search of answers. This daring move leads to the uncovering of dark secrets from someone she thought she knew.
Sam confronts the Woodbrook Killer, and as you might expect, it does not go well. Remember when they find all of Dexter's bodies in the water? Or when he's processing his own trophy slides? Yeah, that. The tension really jumps, and Sam (for once) is actually scared.
The audacity! It's essentially a mystery that is unraveling before a readers eyes and while there are few surprises the expected outcomes are still shockingly delicious. As the cover of this issue reveals, there's a new player and that is the teenaged mouse Nigel who lives with his mom at home though has *always* been watching Sam and knows what she does in the city, where she buries the bodies, and that she is a murderer. HOWEVER, the murders in town are all Nigel's doing and Nigel thinks there might be an opportunity to team up but Sam will NEVER work with someone else and is incensed that Nigel knows about Sam-- though we assume the wheels are already turning in her head to save herself and make sure she escapes.
The tete-a-tete between the two of them was spine-tingling!
That god damn fuckin rat!!! Beneath the Trees continues it's impressive streak of compelling storytelling, engaging plot and beautiful art. The story has a crescendo as our protagonist and antagonist finally meet with completely different reasons for killing that make them incompatible with each other. I thought the backstory presented was a bit quickly for my tastes, but I think they are a good foil to protagonist's calm and emotionless, collection.
OoOoOoOooooooo shiiiiiiiit! Guys, gals and non binary pals .... This book is getting SO FUCKING GOOD. I loved every issue thus far, but this one takes the cake (get it... Cuz Sam bought cakes to.... Yeah yeah I like puns. Whatever). The fact that he knows and is looking to expose her is SOOOO wild. How is she gonna get outta this shit?!
I keep joking this series is Calico Critters meets Dexter... But it really is true y'all. It's so fucking fun.

Holy *$, I did not see that coming and man this is just so great
That was a surprise and just such a sweet turn that I was like ok, we know, I figured and it just goes great. This has been my favorite issue yet and reminded me alot of the season 1 of dexter with his brother and the last season with the brain surgeon, not that it's the same at all just the way things kinda play out and motives and other things. Really have loved EVERY panel of this series so far.
Oh shit things are getting intense in this story! I loved the reveals that we got in this issue and I am having such a good time with this series. It is so dark and eerie and I love it. The motivations of these characters and the things that they are willing to do is just wild and I cannot wait to see how Sam will get themselves out of the situation that they are in now.
Also, how dare Charlie be a target. That was so rude.
