Better than the 1st in this series. But also, Mal is still a douche with unaligned feelings and actions.
On the one hand, he seems to be obsessed with North and we get an insight into Mal's 'feelings' for North in Mal's POV. But then on the other hand, he acts like he doesn't care. The entire aftercare thing was only done because that's "correctly" done, so transactional. I would have pulled the plug on this dumbassery right then and there, treat D/s relationship like it's a transaction and get real bad karma points, imo.
I guess I'm not seeing how North is still into it. To me, a good Dom shows that he cares, that he will always take care of you. Mal doesn't go about it in the way that appeals to me personally. Maybe I'll read the 3d one at some point.
They should pull all parts together, write in some filler plot in between and re-publish as a full length novel. Would probably make more sense than a bunch of shorts.

Although this second part is somewhat longer than the first (not by much, but it has at least 70 pages, which proportionally makes a difference), I have to say that it didn't convince me as much.
Perhaps it's because it feels like a part of the story that works as a bridge between the beginning and what is to come more than actual development of the story. That is, we see what happens after their first time together and how they establish the dynamics they are going to have and the peculiar relationship they maintain.
It's a way of explaining or contextualizing that North, who is supposedly heterosexual, and Mal, who seems uninterested in emotionally engaging with anyone, especially North, establish a common relationship with their own rules and codes.
The fact that it serves as such a "link" between the beginning and the future has made it seem less intense to me, but of course, it is as steamy as the first one (in fact, there are more hot scenes here), and also hints at things about the characters that none of them wants to express in words, which I hope will play out in the upcoming parts of the series.

After all the drama and the heavy plot from the previous series I read I needed something quick and easy. And this little ass book was something all right. The first few pages were ok until there was mention of caged dicks. Both this guys were delusional. North was like leave me alone, then he started to fail in class and he couldn’t concentrate on anything because he was horny and the only thing who can take away that was the dude he made leave him alone, so he follows him and demand to be fucked. And Mal was a bitch of a top and the fact that he “punished” North while also making him understand the materials was crazy work.

This was a great follow up to Turned By My Teammate and really builds on the toxic relationship between Mal and North. Mal admits that he didn't provide any aftercare and that he needs to do better, North begins to admit to himself that having Mal in control helps him focus, and they both realise that as fucked up as this thing is between them, they both kind of need each other.
I'm really looking forward to part 3 and how their relationship develops further. I'm also looking forward to learning more about Mal and his past as he's so damn mysterious!

I read this series (1-5) a while back but never revived them (stupid me)!!
Normally in not a fan of novella reads, I prefer minimum 150 pages BUT these are all a continuation so it's like one big story split out across a few books so I gave it a go and my GOD am I glad I did.
Book 2 picks up where book 1 left off but sweet Jesus this one is so much hotter!!! The spice in this is fecking phenomenal and if you're looking for some good old BDSM and some hot as sin fucking then for the love of God give this series a read!!
