Mars needs Black women! Well, not Mars exactly, but a planet called Rakesh. All of the female creatures on Rakesh died during a plague, and now the Rakesh males have no mates. If they don't find mates soon, their species will die. Finding mates won't be easy. Only Black females from Earth will do.
This book is an immediate continuation of the story of the Brides of Rakesh, following up on events from A Secret for the Alien Prince .
While troubleshooting big problems affecting the kingdom of Rakesh, fiery and funny Jamila struggles to resist the charms of the noble royal general, Cepos.
*This novel was originally serialized on Kindle Vella.
Jamila and Cespo are quite the pair. At first, Jamila acts like she's not into Cepos, but deep down, she really is. Her change of heart seems to come when she sees Ivy, who's not very nice, getting close to her Rakesh Alien. This makes Jamila stop holding back. What's great about fantasy stories like this is seeing scary, powerful creatures being completely loyal to humans. Jamila and Cepos work well together, even though Cepos often has to go on dangerous missions. Jamila is always ready to join him and explore new places, probably because she moved a lot when she was younger. I also like how the book keeps us updated on other characters from the story, making everything feel connected. I can't get enough of this series.
The book was okay. Jamila is nosy and annoying. I don’t like her downplaying Cepos. I like that she has a sense of adventure but why would you want to explore a planet that is holding your king and high prince prisoner? Make sense sis. She comes off as more entitled than eager. In the grand scheme of things, there’s nothing wrong with Jamila. She doesn’t want to be with controlling men but deals with serious, orderly men. Okay girl. Ivy is still rude but I was with her when she described Jamila. She did show character development by learning to chill a little bit and addressing her insecurities. I would think the pregnancy would be somewhere in between three to nine months, not less than three.
Some grammatical errors. I doubt hours exist in space. There’s probably a different metric of time. Wish there was clarification.
I’m a little disappointed on this particular book. First, there are too many grammatical errors. I must say I’ve ready many of Eva’s books and this is a really good series but the proof readers need to do better. Secondly Jamilia is really just too extra in this book. She is behaving as if she is on earth and not another planet. Jamila really doesn’t have a legitimate problem. She is behaving as if she has choices on this planet, and she doesn’t! She is fighting for what? Women’s rights, independence…hello you’ve been kidnapped, and you are being held against your will on another PLANET!
Book three of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔𝒉 by Eva O’Hare in my opinion about letting go. Jamila is one of the women that was abducted by aliens, rescued by an alien prince, and brought to the planet Rakesh and assigned to Cepos, a general. Well not really, she was chosen by Cepos, but she doesn’t know that. All Cepos wants to do is bond with Jamila, but she has kept him at bay. Her past on Earth is holding her back and her conviction to never be controlled again.
Another good read in this series with minor errors and character name mix-up. I am glad that we were able to find out Ivy’s issue in this book. I plan to continue this series.
I really didn't like the human women in the beginning of the last 2 books. Specifically Zora, Jamila, and Ivy. I know they can comprehend what they were told. Yes I'd be homesick but the thought of being captured by another group of aliens, ALONE, who want to sell me or use me would be enough for me to sit my behind down somewhere! Outside of that, I loved all 3. I wish I was there in real life. Lol but assigned to one of the princes. Can't wait for the next one in either of the sets of books.
Jamila is known to be a fun time and doesn’t like to be controlled. Cepos just wants Jamila to take him seriously. Somewhere in the midst of an adventure, they figure each other out.
For once, we get a small peak into another couple! I like that the overall story is still moving along in the background.
If you like fun girls who want to be taken seriously, serious guys who just want to be loved, and interpersonal issues that can be solved by conversation, this might be for you.
I must say it took me a while to warm up to Jamila. Her constant jokes about Rah and dismissal of Cepos feeling and existence made me not like her. But as the story developed and she finally acknowledged that she had feelings for Cepos but because of her past relationships she deflected by using humor. Great story, strong female characters that show how diverse they each are.
I always love a story that has a misunderstanding theme. Cepos was a great character and I was frustrated with Jamila for talking to him about why she was so cold. I enjoyed the adventures that they went on. When she finally let herself open up to Cepos it like fireworks! 🎇🎆He put some serious loving on her.❤️🔥 Looking forward to the next book. Thanks M O’Hare.
I am very impressed. Her 1st person narratives have been told in six voices so far, and each one is distinct from each other. That is not easy to do on this level. Jamila, in particular, is such a character with such a unique voice. And I feel like I've known other Black women like her. This was excellently written and I can't wait to read more!
I think the book was okay but there were grammatical errors which were not caught by the proofreader. Jamilah is quite a character who is misunderstood because of all the crap she went through on earth. However, while Jamilah feels she can act like she did on earth does not work because she is on a different planet.
P.S. The writer also had a glitch when she got the characters mixed up so beware when you read the book.
Each book of this series makes me adore these characters and Rakesh sooo much more! I loved reading Jamila & Cepos’s love story! Them overcoming their bumps in the road was perfect & so darn cute! Even getting to see more of Ivy made me empathize with her more, considering she’s the FMC of book 4. I’m already jumping into the next book, because I want to see Ivy allow Bast to win her cold heart lol🤭😂
I thought Hufu had no sons. Maybe I'll need to go back to book 2 to confirm.
I really enjoy each lady getting her own story. Too many times they continue on as side characters popping in and out briefly and only to further the main characters story. Sometimes I get bored with that. I'm excited to read what's happened with Dawn. Will some kind of exchange program be implemented to bring more women to the planet?
I enjoyed reading Jamila and Cepos story. Definitely, some twists and turns that did not see coming like the 11th human woman Dawn becoming the lover to the Tomex Kofi or Ivy revealing the real reason for her being Rakesh. Hopefully, there will be more books to come in this series. Loving the series!
By 28%, I was over it. I didn’t like the FC Jamila in the first books and especially didn’t like her in her own book. The snark and the stubborn to the point of stupidity got on my nerves. I’m invested in the series. I like the series, I just don’t like this one book.
This was another good off world story. I hope that the other supporting characters receive their own or combined stories. This book has left me curious about the cast of characters futures and looking forward to reading more.
I love the different planets and descriptions of of other aliens. I’m hoping more earth women show up. I look forward to the other love stories for the rest of the women.
This series is getting interesting. I glad that in this book we finally get some insight into some of the reason why Ivy is acting the way she’s been acting. Can’t wait to see if she will get to contact her sister back on Earth.
Loved Cepos and Jamila but sometimes Jamila was a bit too much to take. Cepos had the patience of a saint. Still can't get over the males having a nest of phallus and how that somehow works.
The first two books are my favorite and I really like the male alien in this book. My female main character got on my nerves throughout the book. I understand people never took her serious however, Cepos wanted her to open up to him and she was play around alot.
The characters depicted were believable, thou it was kind of hard believing that this was real. The story was developed so well that I saw myself participating and believing. Loved it!!☺
3rd book into the series and it’s still good. Still very very corny. But the editing got worse? There’s so many typos and mix ups (calling one person one name when it’s meant to be another). Will continue the series.
I absolutely adored this series! It was my first foray into alien romance, and it exceeded all my expectations. The blend of humor, steamy moments, and captivating storytelling kept me thoroughly entertained. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the thrilling world of alien romance!
I can’t believe this series got me out of my reading slump! It’s different and I picked it up for a reading challenge. Now I have to finish the series 😅
