It’s paradise, yet the people are too bored to enjoy it…Imagine a future with Ai so advanced that humans live in a state of perpetual ennui. Yes, technology has made labor and currency obsolete, but it’s also made humans lazy and apathetic. True, there’s no longer hunger or disease, no crime or violence, no corrupt governments nor greedy capitalists. But it’s still not enough. In a perfect society of peace and tranquility, humans are still jaded and world-weary.However, on the eve of Acedia’s 21st birthday, the only existence she’s ever known changes forever with a simple flash of light. All the technology around her turns off. And the very little that remains “on” is suddenly… wrong.Rescued from a malevolent bot by three fascinating men, Acedia doesn’t recognize this world they live in. It is nothing like her own.The Anachronists who’ve taken her are forcing her to remain with them, and they expect her to do her part to survive, but she’s never had to do anything for herself her whole life. Worse, they are making her feel things she’s never felt before. They make her want to stay and love them even when she knows she should leave, because she brings nothing to the table. Will Acedia ever learn how to exist without technology, or will she end up just like the Sloths before her?

Note: DNF'ed this one.

Time for the truth. I didn't know what I was getting into with this book. A book based on one of the Seven Deadly Sins got my attention. Sloth sounded interesting, a story about the future with incredible AI and a rebel group who refuses to conform and make it a why choose, cool.

In the beginning, the story reminded me of the old 90s movie, Demolition Man. Well that was unexpected but I liked it, Demolition Man is a great kitschy movie. Then it went weird and not in a good way. Then it turned into an Alien story. Like something out of the movie Predator or something. To be fair I wouldn't know I was only told about the movie. Like wtf? No warning anywhere. I don't read the Alien genre. I'm not of that mindset. Then the story went Terminator (Judgement Day is the best in the franchise), so from there, I felt kinda like it was a chore so it was a DNF for me.

On a brighter note, I like how creative Fanning got with the Sin of Sloth, it was brilliant, from the tech-driven society to the AI to the names, she put thought into it. Unfortunately,, it's just that I'm not the person this book was written for and I'm good with that. By no means take this review to be about the quality of the book, these are my feelings on the subject. If you enjoy the Alien genre and why choose then you might like this one.

Sloth by Tia Fanning is part of the Seven Deadly Sins Series.

💜 sheltered FMC
💜 use of Ai
💜 why choose
💜 forced proximity
💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spice

Acedia got up to face the day. It is after all her twenty first birthday. She had a whole party planned and couldn’t wait to see everyone. But, her plans for her party do not go how she planned for it to ending with everything going dark and her android lighting up in a scary red color. With the help of three handsome men, she escapes. But can these Anachronists help keep her safe? Will she want to stay with them? Why did the android light up red and act funny?

This was a good story. I was not expecting the story to go in the direction it did, but I wasn’t disappointed. It was interesting to see what was considered a relic in the story. The world building and character building was done well.

Sloth by Tia Fanning was not quite the book I was expecting and I mean that in the best way possible. Still fairly new to her, I'm learning her style, but what I've seen just makes me love it more and more. She has a knack for creativity in her stories, and twisting things around so you aren't getting what you thought you signed up for. This may be off putting for some readers, but for the open minded and free thinking out there, its fantastic!

As for Sloth, the readers get some dystopian, some futuristic aspects, some aliens, and lots of steamy fun. Acedia is exactly what you'd expect from a society where she has to do nothing so its no wonder she feels almost annoying at times but her growth is done well as the story progresses through unexpected trials and events, and, of course, a few brothers who teach her how to truly live. I doubt they'll actually rid her of all that brat though, no matter the punishment.

This world is intriguing, and I'd love to see more. Tia has done some deep thinking in creating the setting and background, which is certainly clear. I highly recommend this to fans of Tia, and fans of unique romance!

I love reading Tia Fannings work. Her mind works so similar to mine that its just a joy to read. I dont read many “alien” books, but I loved the spin on this one. Of course it kept the Dystopian Scifi feel, but also really focused on the romance. Which is what I wanted. If you havent read any books by this author then please check your trigger warnings before reading! If youre an avid fan then you know what to expect. Yes, Poly, Discipline, Spicy, and more. A typical extra spicy lovers perfect read by her!

This Scifi Dystopian Romance is part of the Seven Deadly Sins Anthology. The romance in this book is a fast burn, why choose. The book is very spicy, with descriptive spicy scenes. The spice does have some BDSM influences, so please check your trigger warnings before reading. The book moves quickly following Acedia as she reaches her 21st birthday in a world ruled by technology. On her birthday all technology shuts off but one bot, and something is wrong with it. Fearing for her life she meets 3 men. These men rescue her, and want to keep her. But she has nothing to offer them without the help of technology. This is a quick, and easy read for any spicy lover to enjoy.

***BOOK REVIEW***
Name: Sloth
Author: Tia Fanning
Rate: 4 🌟

~Tia Fanning thank you again for surprising me with this book!!! Sloth is part of the seven deadly sins series. This book was a bit interesting! Relying on Ai to do everything will surely make you become a sloth…LOL! But don’t get me wrong, I sometimes wish I had help from an Ai just to do the cleaning and cooking… The storyline was just great… There is humor and spice in this book. So before reading it be aware of the TW.
~Acedia sure relies a lot on Ai… poor girl even uses it to do virtual pleasure… “What are those”!!! Acedia sure has a rude awakening when realizing that physical touch is better… She sure is a brat and likes to get punished by the brothers that had taken her… The best part of this book was the scene where they talk about the difference when it comes to VR orgies vs Real Life!!!

Acedia lives in the city and AI Technology has made a peaceful society. On Acedia’s twenty first birthday she is having a party by herself and her AI who brought her up. There is a loud noise and her life changes. She is taken by a man and his brothers. There world is different and the men are different in a good way. Can she survive in their world and with them? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book I love Acedia and her character development. Great supporting characters. This book has secrets, intrigue, and the spice is good. This is my first book by this author definitely not my last

Such and interesting and original storyline.
Futuristic, age gap, and why choose are some great tropes in this book.
There was a bit of action, humor, and spice.
I really liked Acedia. While she started out very naive and innocent, she also grew so much. However, I think she always have a little brat in her. 😉
I think the brothers balanced each other out and were each good for Cedi in their own ways.
Overall, I thought it was a good read. It was quick, with a good balance of plot, humor and steam.

Tia, I need this book to be much longer!

The whole premise was great! I found myself wishing with each page that there was more. This book includes AI, aliens, why chose, and lots of anal sex. XD The one guy punishes her with anal, so if you're, not into that, this might not be for you. It was even a little much for me. overall a very quick read that I did enjoy.

I giggled with the innocence of the main character asking them immediately for an orgy even though she was a virgin whose only experience was AI.

DNF’d at 40%. This authors writing isn’t for me. The FMC was irritating and it only got worse. The plot of the book as a whole sounded really interesting and it was what originally caught my attention but the characters just aren’t for me.

Well this is definitely my first taboo read that involved aliens. I freaking loved this! Acedia is something else. Her innocence and naivety is hilarious. I laughed so much at some of her antics. This is definitely a good read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Definitely a re-read in the future.

I wasn't really a fan of the characters to be honest and I don't know some of it was okay the most that was really to be appreciated with the spice I guess but I can see how it's not for some people I think it's just the way it all goes down.

Arc Copy

Futuristic elements where Aliens are in charge and they cultivate the humans, as humans do animals. Acedia lives in the city where Robots control everything and have made humans lazy as such (sloth like ). Acedia is rescued by brothers 3 after Aliens come to harvest the city of humans, being taken to a farm where she is taught how live without the assistance of AI Robots. Lots of spice, would have liked it to be longer and seen the relationship between her and the brothers grow it seemed all to rushed.

4.5/5 Stars!!! Please be sure to check trigger warnings prior to indulging.

I absolutely love just about everything Tia Fanning creates! Even if the story line isn’t for me, I find it hard to put the book down because the writing is JUST. THAT. GOOD.

This futuristic story follows Acedia, who is a very sheltered FMC. As she is turning 21, living in the big city in which andoids have basically taken over and made it peaceful, everything goes dark, except for a red light on her android. Three handsome men help her escape the volatile situation… and right into another one (but in a good way).

Full of twists and turns, aliens, andrioids (which are used in almost all aspects of human every day life, even the smexy times IYKYK), artificial intelligence and great banter with some hilarious zingers thrown in for good measure. It sounds like this story would go weird fast but Tia is amazing at making it all cohesive. Not to mention, as with all Tia Fanning’s books, the spice is on point and glorious!
