The blue alien who rescues me is too damned bossy and annoyingly handsome. But I’m stuck with him and his wicked tail.
VIVIAN
I left Earth the proud captain of a ship destined to save humanity. I wake in a small examination room being poked and prodded by blue aliens who speak a strange language. Oh, hell no. Escape plans whirl through my head—no one’s going to keep me from saving the women of my crew.
Then he bursts in, seven-feet of command and power topped with horns.
Wrin’s the first person to speak English, but he looks just like all the other blue assholes who’ve been experimenting on me. When he throws me over his shoulder and runs into the alien jungle, the heat of his touch makes me wonder if I’m in more trouble than ever.
WRIN
We finally find the Hyoo-mon captain, and she’s on the worst planet possible—Zaar. Returning to my home world is a death sentence, one I won’t subject any of my crew to.
When I infiltrate the hidden lab to find her, my tail buzzes to life. Vivv is my fated mate. Tiny and fierce and lovely, she’s everything I’ve ever wanted. Anger burns in her eyes for what my people have done to her, but she can hate me later, when we’re safe.
As danger closes in, her captivating presence tempts me ever closer. I’ll fight to my last breath for the future Vivv offers me.
Fight to claim her.
Mated to the Alien Rogue is a steamy enemies-to-lovers alien romance featuring a grumpy mercenary born to give commands and a driven heroine full of fire. Strap in for a fun ride filled with adventure, toe-curling steam, and a heartfelt HEA.
Krista Luna writes spicy fantasy and paranormal romance featuring otherworldly men and the strong women they can’t live without. She loves combining sizzling romance with thrilling adventure, laugh-out-loud humor, and cozy found families full of best friends and talking animals.
When she’s not writing, you can find Krista reading or watching her latest fantasy or scifi favorite, all while eating chocolate. Because there’s always chocolate.
The accent the author has given the female main character is driving me crazy. It's supposed to indicate that she's uneducated so there's a lot of double negatives and rearranging of phrases. This woman is supposed to be super intelligent, just uneducated. What is this accent?! Is the author basing it off of anything but her internal bias that someone without a formal education would talk like this?
The female main character is super self conscious and thinks she's crap... including for being a virgin. Since when is not having sex such a crime!? Especially in high school (when someone mocked her for it in the middle of coercion)?
It's not a bad book, but this author is writing a lot of formulaic fated mate romances and I think she's not for me. I enjoyed the first one of hers I read and the rest just feel like "rinse and repeat" but add stupid details.
Here are the quotes that made me stop reading:
"My virginity had hung ’round my neck like a lead weight all these years. It was time to cut that shackle free."
"I kept expecting resistance, a sharp flash of pain, but there wasn’t any. I shoulda known—I’d used toys for years with no problem."
Good end to the series with plenty of room for more stories in this universe. I did think the characters, especially the Zaarn, got a little weaker as the series progressed. It would help to make the stories a little more detailed in the beginnings. I wanna see these women react to the world more, especially the awkward "mate" conversation. No baby, alien peen, no out of character throat-grabbing alpha growling, consistent tech, food, and political thru-line get stars. Telepathic pets get extra stars.
This has definitely been a fantastic series and while I'm sorry to see its conclusion, it was definitely done right! We get all the unanswered questions about the Grug, all the how's, why's, and where's that we've all been wondering about since book one. I loved Wrin and Vivian and I loved them together. It makes sense that the two ship Captains are together. They are both driven, protective, and born leaders. I liked how she was definitely the more feisty of the two and he was more level headed. I can always depend on Krista Luna for great stories. I'm really looking forward to finding out if she plans on adding to this world or creating a new one.
Another fantastic installment in the Fated Mates of Zaarn series! I think this couple may be my favorite. I’ve been waiting for Wrin, the broody captain of our banished blue boys, to get his story and it did not disappoint. I loved Wrin and Vivv together- to fierce leaders that had come to terms with a life without a partner, and then BAM- there goes that tail. 👀😈It was great to finally meet the captain of the human Arc ship and she was such a fierce and compassionate leader and a great match for Wrin. Both have A LOT of responsibility on their shoulders, leading their respective people, but now they don’t have to do it alone.🥹
I LOVED that we finally get to go to the home planet and see what the heck’s been going on over there with the reclusive Zaarn of the home world. And it seems they have their own weird stuff going on too. It felt like a big piece of the mystery and a necessity to truly taking on the grug. You can expect all the usual action, adventure, and Star Trek vibes that Krista does to perfection.
3.5 stars While I enjoyed many aspects of this book, I didn’t love the rapid resolution of some of the major plot points. It seemed to belie the severity of the situation. What I liked the most about this book was that we got to see an ugly side to the Zaarn. Vivian has an awful first encounter as a test subject and was understandably unsure how trustworthy Wrin was. Lucky for them, the mate bond smooths the way. Wrin was a sweetie pie and was patient and encouraging. Everyone needs a Wrin.
Spice: 4/5
Triggers: involuntary medical procedures (off page), captivity, violence, involuntary exhibitionism (MCs are still shielded from view, but someone walks in and won’t leave while they’re knotted), dubcon (have sex to seal mate bond to protect partner), attempted mind control, survival scenario
I was looking forward to Wrin's book and now that I've finished reading it, I'm a little sad that it's over with. The overarching plot was also wrapped up so I get the feeling this is the end of the series as well, which is a bit of a bummer. While I'm glad everything with the Grug was tidied up and addressed, it felt like everything concluded way too quickly and easily given how much buildup there had been.
I liked Wrin and Vivian as characters but I didn't feel that invested in their relationship. That may have been because they perform the mating bond out of duty early on rather than out of personal want, and the feelings of love from Vivian are developed after the fact. It also felt like the development of Vivian's feelings were a little... I don't know. lacking? off? Something about it just didn't do it for me and I haven't put my finger on it. Anyway, she eventually realizes she loves him and it's a HEA, the end. Of everything, apparently.
There were some frustrating or eye-rolling moments that also prevent me from liking the book more. Several times there were things that were meant to be big "A-ha!" moments that I thought were already figured out, like where the Grug homeworld is located (Wasn't that already obvious?) or that the Grug had ways of controlling ships (nobody seriously considered this knowing the Grug liked to control everything and had complete control over manufacturing and trade??).
Some frustrating bits were with the way Wrin sometimes commanded Vivian to do things. She said she liked it and that he was an equal match but it kind of rubbed me the wrong way, personally. She did have plenty of other times of being independent and a leader, don't get me wrong there. Another frustrating bit was when Wrin completely ignored what made sense mid-combat to abandon the crew in favor of trying to "rescue" Vivian, who didn't really need rescuing, and who he couldn't really "rescue" on his own anyway. Like I get the mating bond is strong and you love her, but of all the male characters in this series, Wrin is the one I would have expected to have the most self control. Meh. Now that I think about it, he had multiple moments of loss of control and slightly unhinged behavior.
There were some things that weren't addressed by the end of this book, either, that's rather unsatisfying. Namely the abhorrent way the Zaarn exile half of their population because they don't have a mate. There's some hints about it being a long road to acceptance and social change undoing centuries of the tradition taking time and all that, but it's not really addressed at all.
It was also kind of bullshit that the only thing leading to any change is the fact that they were able to prove that the banished Zaarn might be able to find a mate among aliens because some of them were able to find a mate among humans. Okay? What about the fact that your people are inherently worthy of existing and being loved as a family, friends, colleagues, etc. without being in a magically fated relationship?? wtf?
Last but not least, I would have loved to have seen more about how exactly the human colony is going to work. How many of the women will have fated mates with the Zaarn? How many will choose to have human children? Vivian mentions that they were all originally mandated to have 2 children minimum to build the colony but it sounds like the plans for that are changing due to the Zaarn. They have no idea if Earth even still exists or if there are still other humans out there. Are they really going to abandon the idea of having human children? Very curious about that but it feels like that will never be addressed or answered since this is probably the series end.
Wow! I am super sad that the series is over but this was the perfect way to wrap things up while still leaving room for potential future adventures (and I am not so secretly holding out hope for a spin-off series and, of course, bonus shorts). We got a mostly satisfying resolution with the Grug, a very exciting resolution for the women of ARK-1, and we got to see all of our beloved couples from previous stories at least once which is a huge win in my book. I love when interconnected standalones feature previous main characters as side characters SO much and Krista Luna does it so damn well. We don’t lose the charm of any of them despite many very large personalities, and that takes talent.
Wrin & Vivian are the ultimate power couple; two incredibly fierce and driven characters with strong moral compasses and a desire to protect anyone they deem within their care. I was initially worried when Krista revealed it would be the two captains together — worried they would clash. But they work together so flawlessly that I should’ve known to trust Krista’s process. Like all the wonderful Zaarn males, Wrin immediately focuses on all the ways that Vivian is perfect for him and how to woo her because he knows that she doesn't feel the mate bond the same way he does. He doesn't get discouraged or angry, he jumps right in with meeting her where she's at and taking care of her in ways that don't feel patronizing. And it's not an easy task, his poor mate has had it rough and has the disadvantage of having met Bad Zaarn ™ which we haven't encountered yet in the series (refreshing!) add to that the fact that Vivian is a real live wire — ready to fight and hit challenges head-on even when she is at a disadvantage — he has his work cut out for him. But he doesn't begrudge her that, he *thanks the goddess* for giving him a strong-willed mate! This aspect of Krista's writing is one of my favorites, not only does she write strong female characters, smart female characters, and female characters in STEM, she writes alien men that adore, admire, and empower them! It doesn't get any better than that in my book.
Vivian was also angry about a lot of things and I honestly loved that, women that are angry are always written as bitter and unloveable but Vivian used her anger to fight, to problem solve, to get out of impossible situations, to defend her fated mate! Her anger wasn't a bad thing and that was beautiful to me. And Wrin... ugh, Wrin was strong in all the ways that matter, witty and savvy to political strategy, a secret softie, and a bit of a martyr but the way he basically worships Viv’s passion rather than tries to dull it made my heart sing. ♥️
I've tried to keep this vague enough that it doesn't spoil things but also gush about the things that made this book (and this series) a must-read, so I won't tell you much about the steamy pieces other than they're written perfectly for this couple's dynamic. And that despite the near-constant action there are bright spots of humor (especially with the space pets!), soft spots of romance that'll make you awww, and a hefty dose of found family, joy, and dealing with grief and being separated from your relatives in healthy ways that just feel... good. I snuggled down and read the entire book in one evening because it was like visiting with dear friends, and I think that's what I'll miss most about this series.
This was another terrific book in the Fated Mates of the Zaarn series!
Its finally time to find the captain of the human ship. But there's one problem, she's on the one planet the Zaarn of the Daredevil can never go. But Wrin is determined to rescue her regardless, and sets off on the dangerous mission.
Vivian has been held captive and is determined to escape before the big aliens do whatever they're planning. When a new one shoes up saying he's here to rescue her and also he's her fated mate, can she trust him and what he says?
This book brought together all of the storylines from the previous books to a thrilling conclusion. It has everything there is to love about the series, fated mates, a daring rescue, confident women, dashing alien men, and an adorable space pet!
There is also a good amount of spice as the mating fever hits couples strongly, and Wrin and Vivian are no exception. But the spice is, as always, balanced with the tenderness the Zaarn feel for their mates.
I have absolutely loved the Fated Mates of the Zaarn series, and I hope we'll get more time with the couples in this world!

“His tail held me like I was precious.”
After locating where they think the captain of ARK 1 is, the crew of the Daredevil go to rescue her, but it ends up being Wrin that goes to rescue her – and he finds that she’s his fated mate.
Since we’ve met Wrin, I’ve been asking about his book – are we getting one? WHEN IS WRIN’S BOOK COMING? And finally it is here! And I loved it, Wrin’s momma, how they had their mating bond forged early on, but then they went through the process of falling in love afterwards, how sweet and tender Wrin was towards Viv, how he empowered her and in doing so, helped her fall in love. It was CHEF’S KISS.
I want more of this series. I want to see what happens next with the Grug and the Sjisji and the Tula, and of course more of our Zaarn and humans.
We get to know Wrin, captain of the ship full of Zaarn exiles. He saves Vivian, captain of Ark-1, from a research facility. Wrin is much more passionate and sexy than I expected. They continue the fight against the Grung and discover a new planet!
✨ARC Review! I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest review.✨ … “She was everything. The light in the dark. The warmth in the cold. My soul’s breath was the sun burning at the center of my very existence, giving rise to all life. Vivv made my heart sing when she shone her regard on me, like dawn offering all the promise of a beautiful new day filled with love.” … Don’t mind me over here SOBBING because this series is complete. Mated to the Alien Rogue is the sixth book in the Fated Mates of the Zaarn series. It’s also the last (for now)! Stunning. Amazing. Wonderful. Emotional. Epic and full of ass kicking! This was a perfect wrap up to the series! It gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!
The crew of the Daredevil get word that the captain of the ARK is on Zaarn. Captain Wrin volunteers to go get her, knowing that if he gets caught he will be arrested and/or killed. It’s illegal for those sent to Roam to return to their home planet. His first encounter with Vivian is… stabby. She’s a fiesty thing and not going down without a fight. She’s been held in a lab for weeks and has been subjected to all sorts of testing by a secret Zaarn lab.
She initially doesn’t trust Wrin. After all, he’s the same type of alien that’s been experimenting on her. But she learns to trust him pretty quickly. Wrin’s fated mate bond helps quite a bit. She feels the pull, but isn’t quite sure what it is. Wrin ends up having to explain to her what’s going on and unfortunately, if they want to get off the planet alive, they’ll need to solidify their bond. It’s not how Wrin wanted to woo his woman, but it works!
Everything after that happens so fast that these two have to sneak off in order to spend time together. Political alliances, too many meetings, and reunions between friends and family keep everyone on their toes. It all comes down to an epic final showdown against the Grug and a plan to find a new home for the women of the ARK.
This book was AMAZING! I loved grumpy Wrin and I’m so so soooooo happy he finally met his match. Vivian is a phenomenal woman and he looks at her like she hung the stars! *swoon*
I know their mating didn’t happen under ideal circumstances and Wrin wished he could’ve had more time to woo her first, but I love how it happened! Their bond solidified and kept them together, but they learned to love each other throughout the book. It was so sweet!
I won’t say more because *spoilers* but omgggggg Wrin’s reunion on Zaarn! AHH! I loved how all of that went down. I loved how all the different societies came together to fight against the Grug. It was such a great fight and everyone’s skills were put to the test.
Krista, I know this is technically the end of the series, but I hope there’s room for more in the future! I love these big blue boys and the women that changed their lives forever! Thank you so much for writing them into existence and giving us the opportunity to love them. Thank you for letting me be apart of your ARC team. 💙💙💙

🔥 “I have never been prouder to have you for my fated mate.” ~~~ Captain Vivian Lee is an incredible woman! She’s brave, strong, resourceful, smart and resilient. And I loved that she never backed down from challenges and never hesitated to face any danger thrown her way. Even more, I loved her fierceness, protectiveness, dedication and how much she cared for her people. Viv is truly a hellcat and I loved the fiery captain so, so much!
And Captain Wrin is one phenomenal male! The huge and fearsome warrior might look stern and uncompromising, but he has such a huge heart. He’s so strong, honorable, supportive, kind, patient and fiercely protective. Even more, Wrin is a formidable commander who’s willing to do everything in his power to protect his people. And I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Vivian and Wrin! The Zaarn warriors and their human mates finally found the human captain and she happened to be on the one planet the Exiled were forbidden to return to - Zaar. So, Wrin embarks on a dangerous mission to retrieve her, only to discover that the fiery (and quite stabby) woman is his fated mate. But when the planned escape plan fails, both need to navigate through Zaar and face the consequences of Wrin stepping foot on his home planet. And Wrin will require all his diplomatic skills to win Viv over, because she’s not one to sway easily. I adored those two together! They were an amazing team and fit so well together. I loved that both were headstrong, badass and fierce leaders of their people. And they were so supportive, respectful and understanding of each other. Viv and Wrin were truly a perfect match in every way possible. And all the sparks that flew between them! And the spice! Oh, those two were explosive together and I couldn’t get enough of the knotty, passionate and romantic moments they shared! But becoming mates and proving their mate bond was just the beginning and quite the challenges lay ahead.
In addition, the storyline was incredible! It’s high time for the Grug to be dealt with, but uniting the Zaarn, the Sjisji, the Tula and the Humans is not an easy task. With all the political intrigues, the daring missions and the unexpected turns of events, I was glued to the pages till the very end. Even more, I loved how each of the human women and their mates played a vital part in the final battle. And, of course, there was also the Maximum Good Hunter - he was an absolute star!
Overall, the story is another remarkable addition to the series! It’s filled with danger, non-stop action, suspense, twists, humor, adventure, blazing hot passion and phenomenal characters.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!
Vivian, the female human lead, left Earth in stasis as the captain of a colony ship ready to establish a new human population when a compatible planet was found. She woke as a captive being held prisoner in a lab. Whilst she hasn’t worked out how she’s going to escape, she hasn’t given up, and she’s definitely taking the telepathic small child, who talks to her, with her.
Wrin, the male alien lead, left his home planet, as required, when he failed to find a mate in the much smaller female population. When he realises that the leader of the humans is on his birth planet, and very close to the summer home his parents own, he decides that none of his crew should take the risk of death and he will go retrieve her himself.
When Wrin sneaks into her prison, Vivian can’t distinguish him from any other alien and attacks. He quickly disarms her and moves to get her to safety. Once free of his planet, they work towards breaking the hold of the Grug, another alien species holding them all functionally hostage because they manufacture the majority of the technology they use. Whilst others in Wrin’s crew have been eroding the Grug’s hold, the Grug still have a few surprises…
This story is dual POV, well written, and a fast-paced, sci-fi romance that feels like the end of a series. It certainly completed an overarching plot sequence and I really enjoyed this finale. I appreciated that all the non-Grug species worked together and that humans were able to establish a safe space for themselves. I enjoyed Vivian’s ferocity and determination - she wasn’t the best warrior in the room but she was willing to leverage all the advantages she had. I enjoyed Wrin’s grace and care for her, and his strong support and encouragement of her leadership that didn’t try to override or subsume. I enjoyed their relationship development, especially since Vivian didn’t trust him on their initial meeting. I enjoyed the animal companion, and the resolution for him and his peers that other humans had acquired in previous stories. I enjoyed the highly integrated secondary characters and the genuine teamwork in their overarching plot endeavours.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
Krista's 'Mated to the Alien Rogue' started strong and maintained that momentum until the very end. When it comes to language barrier romance, I love how the alien takes human sayings so literally. Those literal lost-in-translation moments, I genuinely enjoy them.
I have been reading this series, and among all the mating scenes, Vivian and Wrin's first mating bond is the most satisfying I've ever read 😁. Was it romantic? Was it intimate? Was it hot? Was it private? I will only give you a satisfying grin as an answer! I love how Krista created the best first mating bond scene that surely suits two headstrong captains 🤭. Wrin's mom is *chefkiss*. While I longed to meet his father, Maximum, the good hunter...such a star character! The action, the thrill, the gathering of allies, and their strategic planning against the big-bad-grey-alien had me cheering for the mission's success.
With all this political turmoil in building a stronger and new future for Zaarn, sent to roam, I'm amazed at how the author managed to insert some steamy romance. I love how each human woman's strength was showcased without overshadowing the others. Vivian is a captain through and through, a perfect equal partner for Captain Wrin, both in leadership and in bed.
One of my favorite parts is whenever Wrin sends a prayer to the Goddess; it expresses a profound and powerful plea with a mix of love, despair, and vulnerability.
Wow what a brilliant book this was and I love how old characters came out to see there ARC1 Captain Vivian Lee who was rescued by the Dare Devil’s Captain Wrin. Vivian Lee was sold to Senator Glovar and his scientists Slev on the planet Kaar in a hidden lab. Vivian has been experimented on and had heaps of test done to understand why they are compatible with then but before they can do further testing another Blue male comes to rescue her but she doesn’t trust them but goes along with him for now. Captain Wrin has just learned that the ARC1 ‘S Captain Vivian Lee is being held on his home planet and that he is the only one that can save her well hopefully there are arguments about him going but if anything happens he hopes his Mother Senator Devalia can save his life. Meeting Vivian for the first time his tail changes colour and he knows straight away she is his Soul’s Breath. Now together they must stay alive long enough to get off the planet but when they are found by his mother and she learns he is a now mated male to the human he is saved if they can prove it. Once they are safely back Breyva and Vivian meets her crew there new mission starts with the taking down the Grug who sold them as pets once and for all. How does it all turn out, to get these answers and so much more get this amazing book and the whole series you wont be disappointed.
Mated to the Alien Rogue by Krista Luna is a sci-fi romance. It's the sixth book from the "Fated Mates of the Zaarn" series.
This book is about the romantic union between the alien and human captains.
It was time for Captain Wrin to go back to their planet and save the human captain Vivian Lee. She was captured by the blue aliens and was tested almost every day. Her only thought was to escape and save her crew but Wrin found her first. The moment he went close to her he knew she was his fated mate. He would give his last breath if that meant that she would be safe. Vivian was a spitfire who was ready to fight for her people and the bossy alien who captured her heart.
This is such a fun and steamy sci-fi story. There's lots of adventure in the Zaarn planet and some very spicy moments. The main tropes are enemies to lovers, grumpy hero, and fiery heroine. Of course, let's not forget the new sweet pet. There's also some development on the Grug situation which made things quite interesting with the revelations and the new additions to the cooperation. One of my favorite parts was the message Wrin got from a person from his past, it was so emotional and sweet.
If you are into this genre you're going to love this book. I will rate it with 4 stars.
I am sad to see this is the last book in this incredible series! Wrin has to go to his home world of Zaarn to save a human, Vivian Lee, who is the Captain of ARK 1, the ship with humans where most are still in stasis. Wrin could be put to death going back to his home planet after being banished. Wrin and Vivian's first encounter is Vivian stabbing him in the leg with a scalpel because she has been experimented on my an evil Zaarn scientist. But she's his fated mate! Then the adventure really begins. They go to his family's cabin and along the way a Kreecat named Maximum Good Hunter (Max for short) bonds immediately with Vivian. Next Wrin's mother, who is a Senator of Zaarn, finds them in the family cabin. Wrin is saved because he and Vivian complete their bond. Now they have to work on having humans being classified as sentient beings which takes the Zaarn, Tula and Sjisji working together to fight the Grug. During this very important mission, Vivian finds herself falling in love with Wrin although Wrin fell for Vivian on first sight. This story ties up all the previous stories with more adventure, more are they going to make it moments and a very very happy ending.
I have never loved a bunch of grumpy blue males as much as these Zaarn. They are just brilliant and this series is a firm favourite. This time grump meets feisty and it is almost a death match as to who will win. We all know that Wrin will stop at nothing to do the right thing and to protect the humans even more so when he learns that the one he is protecting is his own mate. The thing is she has to let him save her first and then he needs to try and woo her. There was never a battle he has been more invested in to win. Vivian is not easily bowled over however if it looks like he is going to get her out of the immediate predicament she’ll sort of take her chances with him. Despite all she has been through she is not bitter, and I loved that about her. She just turns all that happened to her into energy for finding a way to ensure it doesn’t happen to anyone else. I loved how it all turned out and so I am not being as clear as I could about this. A fitting end although I can’t help hoping that we’ll get some more Zaarn at some point.
Captain Vivian Lee finds herself in the clutches of big blue aliens who probe and examine her, treating her like a lab rat. When another big blue alien says he's there to rescue her, she doesn't trust him, but leaves with him anyway. He then tries to find a way to get the trust of Vivian, whom he realizes is his fated mate.
I really liked this latest book about the adventures of the Zaarn warriors who were sent to Roam, the humans they rescue, and the struggle of all the people of the seven sectors who fight for freedom from the Grug. There is great world building, and plenty of action and adventure. The romance which develops between Vivian and Wrin is based on mutual respect and care. Vivian is a strong, fierce warrior who is determined to fight for the dignity of the women who traveled with her though space. Wrin is an honorable warrior who is supportive of her goals, while wanting the best for his people. I hope this series continues.
Vivian is being used as a lab rat on Zaarnian planet. Wren risks his life to save her from the illegal lab and brings her to safety. The moment he meets her, he knows she's his fated mate but with Viviann being human he knows it will take her awhile to develop feelings for him. As they navigate through one trial after another, Vivian fall for the alien commander that's just one big softy. With their friends and all the pets, they will fight the Grug to win their freedom. This book had me on the edge of my seat. I loved how devoted and patient Wren was to Vivian. Vivian is an extremely capable woman that kept Wren on his toes. Steamy, adventurous, danger, drama, fated mates and happily-ever-after.
This book was a nice ending to the series. Vivian was one of my favorite female leads of the series because she didn't really stick to one trope like Cara. I like that she was able to be vulnerable and still use that anger she has but to fight and that she was still untrusting of Wrin so she was cautiously going along with him but still suspicious I really like that little detail. I have to admit I'm kind of sad that the series has ended because I really wanted to know what the children would look like and how they would build their new world on the planet. I also want to see more stuff about the other females on the ship because they would be basically coming into already being on the planet.
This is Captain Vivian's story about her abduction from the ARK1. She was sold as a thing to be experimented on. Waking up in a cell was not good, but getting angry was harder on her physically. She needs to escape and take with her whoever has been talking to her in her head. Wrin was banished from his home planet at age 20 when he didn't find his mate. Through hard work he was able to get his ship Daredevil and with others banished from his home planet, they go on missions to save the human women and to fight the Grug. Many old friends join in in this story. And Krista weaves in interesting plot twists, humor, fear, anger, distrust, new friends, Max the keerkat, danger and steam in this great addition to her series.

Oh, Captain Wrin. I've wanted his book ever since book one, and it did not disappoint! Big, growly, commanding, Wrin's hiding the hugest heart while also being hot! He broke my heart in the very best of ways when he went to Zaar. This is all the things I wanted from an outcast story. And Vivian is fierce! I loved her so much! She's stabby, and Wrin keeps giving her the daggers 😁. These two are the ultimate power couple and perfect for each other.
Can I just say 🥵🥵🥵? Those Zaarn vibrating tails are chef's kiss! And the way these males like to go down makes me cry that these big blue aliens haven't come and taken me away yet. Read this. Read this whole series! One of my absolute faves!
Such a great ending. These characters were just beautiful. Down to earth, steady but fun people who are great leaders, captains Wrin and Vivian Lee immediately have you cheering for them. Viv has been sold to a lab for experimentation on Wrin’s home planet. The planet he has been banished from. So on threat of execution, he sneaks in to save her. But that is just the start of the adventure. With leaders from all the races banding together to fight, things have come to a head, and the humans are getting their place. I have loved this whole series, and this ending was no different. The characters, the story, the world, it was all fun and interesting and well written. Definitely recommend.
Really enjoyed this book and have been looking forward to reading about Captain Wrin since he was first mentioned several books ago. Vivv is the perfect match for him. They are both strong and competent, but she's slightly feral, which I love. Max was a lovely addition and less annoying (sorry Krista!) than some of the other pets. I love the soft side of this book between Wrin and his mother. It was unexpected but I'm so glad that extra layer was added. I don't know if this is the end of the series, but if not I look forward to the next book. Can't wait to see if anything happens on the new human home world. ☺️
This is book 6 in the Fated Mates of the Zaarn, a sci-fi alien romance between a set of banished warrior aliens and the human women sent off from Earth to establish a new colony. This edition brings us two head strong captains who want nothing more than to find and care for their respective crew and what happens when a rescue mission turns into finding your mate.
This has all the hallmarks of what makes me love this series so much including: 👽 Knots & tails 🚀 Found family 👽 Language translation mishaps 🚀 Fierce strong humans 👽 Big love sick blue aliens
*I received an advanced copy of this book but all opinions are my own*
This one started strong with an excellent meet cute and a ship captain face off. I love that Viv is intelligent, determined and proud to be an expert in orbital mechanics. I have been waiting for Wrin to finally find his match. I longed for more tension, power play and enemies to lovers banter. The first half was promising but it quickly became less about the love story and more about series wrap up. I just wasn’t as invested as I had hoped to be. The ending was a little lacklustre and like a fizzled firework. It needed more conflict and heat and just didn’t meet its potential. Each book is fairly similar but the series overall is an easy, low brainpower enjoyable read.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series to date and knew this would be just as good a read as those previous. In this book we meet Vivian and Wrin. Vivian is on a mission to rescue the previous women that were taken. We learn more of Wrin's story. And he rescues Vivian, of course, not that she's too happy escaping those who want to experiment, but Wrin has his motives and despite Vivian's feisty nature, he wins her over. It will be great to see what happens next. These 'blue' guys certainly find a place in their humans' hearts and those of us who enjoy these books.
