This seems to be a fake book created by putting together Wikipedia entries. Here, only some plot summaries are given and not the actual stories. The only reason I give it 2 stars instead of 1 is that it lists some of his good stories. But there are a few good ones.
Jasmine Reynoso American Literature Thayre 3 8 January 2016 Goodreads Review #3 Autopsy Room Four by Stephen King is a short story that is filled with mystery and a bit of horror. The setting of this story is the actual title, it takes place in an autopsy room in a hospital. The main character is Howard Cottrell a man who likes to golf and is in a business partnership. Another main character is Dr. Arlen a doctor with lots of experience being in the autopsy rooms behind the scalpels. Lastly, Pete a doctor in training that is filled with worry, fear, and nervousness. The problem within this short story is that Howard believes he's not dead, but is trapped in his body or even alive but in a state of being paralyzed. Howard tries to resolve the problem by trying to make a sound or movement to show the doctors that he is still alive and well. But will it work? The story's problem is extremely terrifying and nerve racking to the reader because they don't know what will happen. Or if Howard will live or what caused this unnatural state if that's the case. The short story was very entertaining because the mystery wasn’t too overwhelming, but makes the reader anxious. Stephen King fully met my expectations because his story was exhilarating. I wish the author would have included more background to what happened when Howard was so called dead. King should have because it would bring more insight and background to the story and the characters. Overall, I would recommend this thrilling short story to everyone who is moved by anxious novels because it is entertaining and nerve racking. It is a short story the reader will have to read to the end. The readership would be individuals who are into a mix of thriller, horror, and mystery because it is overflowing with these genres. After reading this book I would like to read more thrillers with incidents like the one in this story.
Ok, I didn’t actually read this book… I read Finn by Stephen King, but I couldn’t find that on Good Reads, and since it’s a short story, I am using this as a place marker for my yearly reading challenge.
Finn - meh. It’s suuuper repetitive. All you need to know is this guy has REALLY bad luck. You’ll be reminded of that over and over and over. The ending is ambiguous. The end. I’ve just saved you from wasting you time.
