SERIES PREMIERE A new era for G.I. JOE starts here...but one Joe won’t survive THIS ISSUE! The legendary LARRY HAMA is joined by new series artist CHRIS MOONEYHAM (Five Ghosts) and cover artist ANDY KUBERT (Batman, X-Men) to continue one of the longest-running titles in comics history!

He is best known to American comic book readers as a writer and editor for Marvel Comics, where he wrote the licensed comic book series G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero, based on the Hasbro action figures. He has also written for the series Wolverine, Nth Man: the Ultimate Ninja, and Elektra. He created the character Bucky O'Hare, which was developed into a comic book, a toy line and television cartoon.
The artwork in this issue is balls to the wall action. The writing has me wanting more. I dropped G.I. Joe years ago, but tried this for fun. So glad I did. I'll be following these new adventures for some time now.
I am a day late and a dollar short! I have been reading the Duke and Cobra Commander mini series, and loving them! But I thought the new version of G.I Joe would not come out UNTIL those two mini series were completed. Today I discover that 4 issues of the NEW G.I. Joe were already out! I picked up a second printing of #301 and will get the next 3 issues tomorrow! My son collects the new Transformers series And I end up passing my G.I. Joe issues to him. Glad I am catching up. Love the art, the characters, and non-stop Matthew Reilly type action!
It was the perfect blend of amazing military artwork and action, plus uniquely GI Joe plot devices like a zombie bomb. Great first issue for Image. Glad for the renewed energy and creativity being pumped into my favorite all time title.
First entry into a new Joe series. Highly enjoyable reintroduction to the old characters that all seem to be in new and shifting alliances. I will continue this series.
This is the perfect blend between old and new. It's great to read Larry Hama at the helm of G.I. Joe again with refreshed art and story. Perfect for old fans and a good jumping on point for those new to the series.
This title was the first comic I ever read as a kid. I followed the restart at IDW for a few years. Now to finally see it start again. I’m so excited for and to know Larry Hama is still at the helm.
