Wicked Magic #1

Wicked Truth

Rate this book
As a child I believed in magic. As a woman, I believe only in the power within me.

The Duke of Denforth has made me his bride, and from him I've received so much more than the title of Duchess. It seems the world is full of wonders beyond any fantasy, and instead of one husband I now have three: the Duke and my guardians, Moses and Liam.

The scandalous passion I share with these men is white hot and undeniable, each of them seeking to explore my every secret. But when a sinister force who would use my power for evil takes me from them, it will be up to me and me alone to embrace who I am, and harness my gifts once and for all.

I am Lily Archer: Duchess, wife, lover, dragon charmer, undefeatable warrior. And nothing I've ever feared will keep me from returning home to the men I love.

I already loved Raisa Greywood’s kinky side, and finding out she’s combined that with magic, made me very happy.
Finding those stories on Apple Books was such a pleasant surprise, and i immediately bought both published books and pre-ordered the third.
Having finished Wicked Truth,i can safely say it’s money well spent!

Lily is in a tough spot after a trespasser fled her home through her window.
The village speaks ill of her ever after, and her mother’s decided to marry her off to a man she despises.
She doesn’t see a way out, until Myrddin,Duke of Denforth rescues her by marrying her.
But it isn’t just him she’s tied to,it’s his companions Moses and Liam as well….
Oh well,it’s not like she had a good name to begin with….right?
Finding out there’s more to these men is a surprise, but finding out there’s more to herself is….shocking.
Because it means her father had secrets he never shared with her.
If only they knew the entire story….

But someone else does, and he’s going to take from her what she doesn’t even know she has.
Helped by Morgaine, the dark sidh king Teran has her snatched her from her new home, and plans to do whatever it takes to get it from her…..even torture her!
Her men are desperately searching for her, aided by the light king Omer and the dragon on Myrddin’s back.
Can they find her in time, will she be able to survive until they arrive?
Or will she have to free herself…..

This was a rollercoaster ride that held me hostage from page one.
That made me laugh cry, curse and at times want to reach in and strangle “certain people”
In short,it was a story i enjoyed very much!

Wicked Magic, Book 2. Legend combines with the hottest relationship of legend to create magic!

Why? Oh, why? Lily’s hope is gone. How did it come to this? If only she could go back! To be engaged to Caine Martin, that abusive brute, of all people. Then, out of nowhere, Michael, the Duke of Denforth, and his companions, Moses and Liam, appear on her doorstep. Why does Michael want to marry her? Desperate for a new life, Lily’s willing to let the past go. But is anything what it appears? Who are Michael, Moses and Liam? All three harbor secrets Lily can’t begin to understand. Magic? As much as she’s hoped and wished, it can’t be real, can it? Their marriage is scandalous! But does anything matter if they’re happy? Who cares what anyone else thinks? But deep inside Lily lives something special, something potentially so powerful others will do anything to take it and her. When Lily disappears without a trace, can anyone find her? Michael, Moses, and Liam may not be ordinary, but are they any match for what’s entrapped their Lily? There’s the tiniest spark of hope. Only can a spark be fanned into a flame large enough to save Lily? Or will that spark burn into an inferno destroying Lily and everything around her?

I’m not sure I can even begin to tell you how special this story is to me. Any story that contains magic opens a door to my soul. That probably sounds over-the-top melodramatic, but it’s still true. Even if you don’t have that kind of reaction to magic, Raisa Greywood spins a tale that holds you enthralled from the first word. The characters and creatures in this book are literally legendary. For me, meeting these characters is like meeting old friends. But I realize most people don’t have the same attraction to magic as I do. Believe me, this book is still head and shoulders above any book you’ve read. Nothing is as it seems. The story is thrilling, full of mystery, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Every page fills with you with anticipation, mystery, darkness, light, good, evil, love, and hatred. And can anyone resist time travel? As if all that wasn’t enough, OMG! This story is as hot and steamy as they come! Seriously! How can anyone not love a poly relationship in a historical romance with supernatural elements? Raisa Greywood writes the best books I’ve ever read, and you absolutely HAVE TO READ this one! I honestly wish there was some way I could give this book 100 stars. That is absolutely how wonderful it is. Give it a try. I guarantee you, you won’t be sorry!

A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language, some dark themes, and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and all booksellers' websites. Please use these resources. I urge you to leave a review, but with a proviso. Please don’t leave a negative review when you know you won’t enjoy the book. It's not fair to the author. She works hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to a book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

I really really loved this story the myth and magic world just dragged me right into the story with such wonderful written characters that just grab your attention at every page. This had very steamy dark and dirty scenes just the way I like it with danger everywhere and Lily needs all the strength and backup she can get she is a force herself and I really loved her character.

I have to say this is a great story. The characters and descriptions were so detailed. I’m really excited to read the next in this series to see where else the author can take me.

When I read the first book in this series, as an ARC (Wicked Deception), I had no clue what type of book it was, didn't know the genre, and found it lacking in a couple of places, but still liked the book and found it to be a good read.

Not so with this book. This book grabbed me from the very first page and that would have happened even if I, again, had no clue as to genre and style. The writer has a writing style that lends itself to fantasy and magic, if that makes sense. I was very pleased as I read this book, and was even more pleased to find out that it was about a reverse harem, I think I should call it that, although it was not that and more than that, all at one time.

We met a few of the characters - The Duke, Liam, and Moses, and yes, even Lily, in the previous book, so this carried seamlessly from the first to the second. It opens just shortly after the other ends, so the reader doesn't sense any continuity loss between them. That can be a tough assignment for a writer to accomplish, as any gap in the stories, no matter how small, tends to impact a reader's enjoyment of the book. We also meet Morgaine Le Faye in this book, as well as Merlin. As I said this is quite an interesting story.

The plot was a bit more complicated in this book than the first, there is a tad more violence in this book, but fear not, there is no unhappy ending....well, there is for a few, but not for Lily, Michael, Moses, and Liam. The only problem I saw in this book was that at times, it was not well balanced between narrative and dialogue. But even then, the story is told, so be patient, as it will even out as the story goes on.

I would recommend if you see this book, you pick up Wicked Deception first. While neither is a cliffhanger, this book ends with a tickler that promises another book in the future.

Lily Archer is in an appalling position. Fallen prey to a scandal, she's being forced to marry an abusive drunk, all because she was caught unaware. Myrddin, the Duke of Denforth, steps forward and makes her his duchess, saving her and introducing her to undeniable passion and magic.

I don't make it a secret how much I enjoy historical romances and erotica, and add in tales of myths and legend and I am sold. My love of the stories of Merlin and Morgaine and all things fae go back to my childhood and I adored Raisa Greywood's reimagining of these characters for a more modern age. The added twist of Lily having three husbands was all the merrier as was their wicked (delicious) interactions that made Lily's original scandal so, so, mild in comparison. But can the love of her men save her when she's stolen away? Well, not entirely. For Lily has grown during her time with them and she's far stronger than anyone could imagine and definitely not quite human.

Likes: Where to begin…I really enjoyed Ms. Greywood's worldbuilding. The characters and events/plot were engaging and my likes (and dislikes) of the different characters were definitely under the author's control. I loved how Lily handled Drako and it served as some much needed levity at times. The scenes with Lily and her husbands were blistering, they were so hot and more than once, I had to put my Kindle down to let it cool off before I could pick it back up again. The darkness that exists in this story is well-balanced against all the light and the worse it gets, the more the love between these four grows until nothing can win against them.

Raisa Greywood's WICKED TRUTH is Book 2 of the Wicked Magic series and it keeps getting better and better.

Full disclosure, I accidentally read this book 2 before book 1. While the beginning does reference some activity from book 1, I didn't find it detracted from the story. This could easily be read as a standalone.

I was delighted to discover it was essentially a re-imaged (retelling?) Merlin story. I grew up loving everything from the Camelot story, but this has mostly new characters. It's a very unique story...It's as if the author took a thread from the old story and wove it into a brand new, compelling book. I loved how Lily was smart and embraced the role she was thrust into. I loved the relationship between Moses and Liam. They were both former slaves who found purpose within each other, and genuine love. And Draco? How can you not fall for the cranky Dragon with secrets?

The sex scenes were limited but passionately written. You can't help but feel the emotion come off the page, but this is more of a event driven story, versus a character driven story. And I was thrilled by it all. This author doesn't pander to the audience she wants. Her use of vocabulary told me she is a voracious reader and an intelligent writer. The book flows like water and is edited extremely well. The best part for me was the epilogue, which answers MY questions, while giving a wink to audience. The story ends with a hint to the content of the next book, but there is no cliffhanger.

After reading book one in this series, I fell in love with this author and her creative writing style. Needless to say, I had to read the second book in this series, Wicked Truth.

In this book, Lily. Is supposed to marry Caine which is a drunk and loves to beat her. She finds herself stuck in an possible situation until the Duke of Denforth and his two lovers come calling. Lily can’t refuse the offer of marriage which will put an end to the upcoming marriage to Caine.

Little did she know, she will be in the fight of her life because of her magical existence that she was unaware of. Mayhem will break lose and test her strength beyond belief. Will her husband’s make it in time to save her from agony? You must read to find out.

I loved the characters in this book. They were well drawn and the roles they played was undeniable. The sex between Lily, Liam, Moses, and Myrddin is hot and steamy. You simply knew these characters loved one another. The plot was intense and awe inspiring. This book did not disappoint. Well done!

This is the second book in the Wicked Magic series and it is filled with magical creatures. The storyline is fun, even if I thought the heroine was way too quick to accept things in her new life married to the Duke of Denforth. I mean, it stretches imagination a bit to think a gentlewoman of the Regency era would so quickly accept the idea of having 3 "husbands" for the price of one with all the assorted variations of pairings that would bring, not to mention all the magical creatures she is confronted with within the first few chapters. So, for me, there was a lot of willing suspension of disbelief. That said, however, the writer is actually quite good and weaving her stories and keeping the reader interested. While this isn't my personal favorite genre, I did enjoy the book quite a bit and am looking forward to the next installment. I happily recommend this book for anyone wanting a romp into fantasy.

I don't think this one needs much of a trigger warning. While there are some torture scenes that are quite rough, there were no non-con or dub-con scenes in this book.

I've been waiting for this book for what seems like forever, so I'm so glad that I got to read it. It was fantabulous. It was worth every single second that I had to wait for the book.

The chemistry between Lily, Moses, Liam, and Myrddian is, forgive the pun, magical. Not just as the foursome, but also between various people. Raisa Greywood did that just so well. I loved how accepting Lily was of the already existing relationship between the guys, and how she really wanted to be part of it and how she thought that it was so sexy to watch Liam and Moses together. The descriptions of the action between the two of them sounds really sexy too, so I can see why Lily found it sexy.

Altogether, such a great story. I can't wait to see where the series is going to go.

***This is Book 2 of the Wicked Magic series but can be read as a stand alone.***
I really enjoyed this book as well. For me, sections of the book was a bit predictable. This was the story of Lily Archer who marries Michael (the Duke of Denforth) and saves her from a marriage to the brutally sadistic Caine. Michael has his trusted companions, Moses and Liam become Lily's bound guardians. I wished this book went into a bit more detail into Lily's past. All in all, this was a good read. Looking forward to the next one.

We met some of these characters in book 1 (Wicked Deception), and Lily gets her story in book 2. This was more of a reverse harem romance, in a world of dukes and duchess, with some magic mixed in to the story line. This book was easier to pick up the plot after reading WD, and I thought it was a good read. Again, not too dark, but with a scandalous connection between Lily and her men, they had a lot to overcome. There was good chemistry, not too heavy on the sex scenes, but the sparks were there.

Wasn't sure at first as a MMMF and mythical story. However I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. I fell in love with the struggle poor Lily had from her rough upbringing to finding her true calling. The strong yet worldly Myrddin (swoon), the sexy and yet powerful Moses and the sensitive and caring Liam. The tales, fun, the struggle - you live it with them. A definite can't put down book. Haven't read this authors work before but will continue to do so now!

This is the 2nd book in this series, and we met most of the characters in the first book. Truly and exceptional read. We have magic and mayhem, which seem to go hand in hand. Lily is engaged to an abusive man. When Michael and his companions save her from him. There is so much romance, love, and suspense that will keep you turning the pages. Then author has blended magic and romance that can't be stopped. Definitely worth the read.

This second book in a steamy series sizzles from that start. I loved the chemistry and heat level from their MMMF relationship. The authors vivid description made this fantasy read a reality that was a pleasure to read. I was highly entertained with the danger and suspense that the well written story provided. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series!

The second book and I enjoyed this book as the first one. There is even more magic in this book and even a dragon.

Lily is just a feisty as Elizabeth in the first book. What I loved with Lily was how she rolled with things and she was so brave and full of love.

Loved her relationship with the guys and seeing their interaction and love with each other. It was also very sexy.
