One year ago, billionaire bachelor, Jack Sloan, left me at the altar and ghosted me. But now he’s back in my small-town acting as if he never met me.
Look, I get it. I’m just a nobody. A small-town girl who lives in the tiniest house in the state of Virginia with her sister and a stray dog that won’t stop stalking me. I’d probably ghost me, too. But, and that’s a BIG but. He promised to love me forever. Swore I was the only one for him. Then, on the day of our wedding, he never showed. Now that I am finally over him, he strolls out of the coffee shop and looks at me as if I am nothing. My sister and my friends were there for me on my wedding day, helping me dry my tears. But today, I am relying on them to help me… get revenge.
This was like a poorly written soap opera episode. A woman left at the altar, a billionaire ex-fiance that has amnesia, a will that states that they have to get married or the small town they live in will be given to the mob, and the billionaire brothers that also have to marry a woman in the town to receive their inheritance. Mix in a dash of spice and that's basically the book. I feel as though it could have had some potential but it felt rushed and so slow at the same time. I'm glad it was short so I could read it in a day and put it behind me.
the storyline didn't flow well together, second chance romance with zero angst every was resolved right away. zero build up or momentum, the crusty dog played a large role for some reason. not my cup of tea in second chance romances.
A year ago, Jill was jilted at the altar and ghosted. So it's understandable that she's furious and wants vengeance when the man who jilted her, Jack, waltzes into her town and acts as if he doesn't even know her. What's even more frustrating and bizarre than him acting like this is that his brothers are with them and are all going along with what their father's will has dictated. There's a small (large) window for a second chance, but it will depend on Jill believing her only love's explanation.
I love second chance stories. But only if I feel the characters worked for, and deserve their second chance. Jack and Jill 😉 definitely worked hard, and so deserved their second chance. His backstory was crazy, sort of cliché, but added a cute twist to the plot. Their chemistry is hot, very natural, and I fell in love with how sweetly they came back together. I hope this is the start to a new series, because Jack's brothers are just as interesting as he is, and I would love to read how they follow, or don't, their father's will and in the process, fall in love.

Never Again Jack by Elizabeth Lynx 3.75/5 Stars Release Date: April 12, 2024
Jack is part of a billionaire family. Jill lives in a small town and owns a bookstore with her sister. One year ago, Jack and Jill were engaged and about to get married when Jack left her at the altar and cut all ties of communication with her. Now, he is back in town and has no idea who Jill is. Things get even weirder though when Jack and his brothers get together for the reading of his father’s will and they find out what they have to do in order to get the inheritance left from their dad.
This was a fast pace, cutesy romance with some twists and turns and a look at a beautiful second chance romance. Some of it was super cheesy but overall I actually enjoyed this book. I loved seeing Jack and Jill fall in love like it was the first time again. Honestly, I would have love more of their back story or some back flashes thrown in. It could have made their romance even more meaningful at the end. There were some very funny quotes and cute banter along with all the cutesy romance. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book if you like cute and fast paced romances. There is even a little twist at the end that you won’t see coming.
If you like: - small town romances - billionaires - left at the altar - second chance romance - remembering her - connected sisters - revenge plot - crazy twist Then be sure to check this book out!
Thank you to Grey Promotions and Elizabeth Lynx for the ARC of Never Again Jack. I am so excited for this book to come out so others can enjoy it as much as I did! Be sure to check it out anywhere you can buy books on April 12, 2024!!
Never Again Jack is by a new-to-me author and I'm glad I picked it up! Elizabeth Lynx doesn't waste time by diving straight into the storyline of a jilted bride and how she handles her former fiance being back in her life one year later. Jill is spunky, sweet and still hurting over what Jack did to her by leaving her at the altar. Her small-town rallied around her and now that Jack is suddenly back, let's just say that most don't take his visit all that well. With plenty of good coffee wasted as he's ambushed as soon as he appears.
But old feelings are hard to ignore and once Jack, who honestly does have a legit excuse as to why he didn't show up to marry his girl and Jill are face to face, all the venom she has carried starts to fade away especially as they start being around each other since Jack is convinced that Jill is his guardian angel.
With all of the billionaire Sloan brothers showing up to deal with their father's will, Jack finds out the truth of this past year as conditions need to be met all the while he's falling in deep love with Jill once more. Plenty of light moments combined with steamier ones make the book easy to read and enjoyable.
The secondary characters who are memorable, feisty and will most likely be a part of future books are the perfect counter to all that Jack and Jill experience. But it's the love that never died between them that makes this story charming and a wicked good treat between much heavier reads.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author and give Never Again Jack a solid 4 stars.
It’s revenge alright, but sometimes the tables get turned. I stayed with this book eager to see just who the mean guys were and what would happen to them. I’m one that loves to see people reap what they sow. And yes, we learn that to a degree but I needed to know more, about lot more, than them getting caught.
🤔OBSERVATIONS:
✒︎ This is a quick read that has its pros and cons. We read about a ‘runaway’ groom who pulled a disappearing act on his wedding day … or did he? If so, why? This part is well developed.
✒︎ Female characters are too immature, although I do like how they are very supportive and look out for each other.
✒︎ The astrology and psychic portion made no sense.
✒︎ More depth and development is needed, especially in main plot line areas and the ending.
✒︎ However, there was too much depth when it came to open door bedroom scenes. They added nothing to the plot but served as filler pages to an already novella length book.
✒︎ This is Book 1 in the Sloan brothers series. It’s going to be interesting to learn what role each brother played in affecting the women they were mandated to marry.
✒︎ I’m already wanting Aunty Karma to be prominent in book two of this series. From the little I read in this Book 1, Drake needs to have an extra bedroom in his house just for Aunt Karma to move in. I already don’t like him and want to ‘see’ and ‘feel’ his comeuppance.
Jill lives in a small town, in a small house and works in a bookstore owned by her sister. Jill was jilted at the alter, her fiancé just never showed up. A year later Jill runs into jack and he doesn’t acknowledge her. She is completely devastated that he wouldn’t say anything to her. Jill doesn’t know that jack has amnesia and he doesn’t remember her or the year they spent together. Jack is completely dumbfounded by the anger and hate the town people are displaying towards him. Jack and all his brothers have convened upon this small town called Castle Ridge Because their father’s will gives the town to the first brother who marries. If not the town will be given to a rival family. The brothers are rarely all seen together but they were each given a letter from their father telling them the name of the person they should marry. Which includes Jill’s sister and Sandra a barista in a coffee shop. This leads me to believe this is the beginning of a series of books concerning these brothers and this town. I enjoyed the book and the characters
Never Again Jack is a fantastic read. I loved this one. If you have read the holiday anothogy Holiday Heart On then you would have met Jack and Jill in the Christmas Cabin. If not no worries you can the story of Jack and Jill in this one but it takes after they had originally met. Jill is hanging on to what she lost when she was left at the alter and trying to keep her sister's business afloat. She has no idea why Jack ghosted her until he walks back into town with his brothers. Jack is trying to piece together what happened and why they are in Virginia. I love the banter and the chemistry between Jack and Jill. I love how slowly everything comes out and how the sparks never died. The Sloan brothers are in for a ride when it comes to their father's will and I'm hear for it. I loved Jack and Jill so much. I can not wait for more to come in the Billionaire Sloan Brothers series. Go one click this today.
I really wanted to love this story, and I did enjoy the overall story with Jack, his amnesia, and Jill, being hurt from being left at the alter. I just felt that I was missing a lot of their story. There was some mentions of their beginnings, and I'd have loved more of that. Having this second chance, mixed in with a marriage of convenience to save her small town was fun but rushed. Jack and Jill have a great connection in their heart, good steam, and some great laughs. I'm very curious about his brothers and how their stories play out so I am looking forward to those. Maybe there will be a prequel to get deeper into their beginning.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is the first on a new series, and this is Jack and Jill’s story. Jill is a small town girl who works in her sister’s bookstore, and when she was supposed to get married she was jilted ay the altar, and Jack has ghosted her since. A year later, Jack is in town with his brothers, and he is at a loss as to why the town people are all angry with him, and Jill is devastated that he does not even acknowledge her. Jill calls in her reinforcements to help dish out revenge. This is a well written story which has family, friendships, mystery, suspense, intrigue, humor, witty banter, complex characters, second chances, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy small town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Jill thought she had her life all planned out until her fiancé didn’t show up at their wedding and she is left with nothing but questions when she wasn’t able to locate him. A year later she has moved forward with her life until he arrives in her town, and not only doesn’t he acknowledge their past, but he pretends to not know her as well.
When Jack arrives in town, he has questions of his own as he doesn’t understand his feelings for Jill and the revelations from his father’s will as well. Even though circumstances may have torn them apart fate might just bring them back together.
The interactions between them are both humorous and hot as they find themselves dealing not only with the challenges in the present but the events of the past as well.
Jack hadn't shown up to his own wedding. Jill had no idea why, and then it was as if he disappeared entirely. Now, a year later he's back and acting like he doesn't even remember her. There is a reason, but she doesn't know what it is. Jack doesn't know why everyone in this town hates him until he is finally told he left Jill at the altar. He feels terrible and tells her how sorry he is, but she's still hurt. Add to all this the father of these six billionaire sons throws in a very specific and unusual demand in his will, and things get really complicated. This is an interesting story of love that seems forgotten, yet as Jack put it, he remembered with his heart. This is a story of second chances and hope.
I had an idea of what might cause Jack to leave Jill at the altar (what is up with these silly names?). I’m proven correct. The confusion, outrage, mistrust, and rejection are appropriate. What was bizarre was the angry crowd scene.
Somewhere in the middle, the person with the cane stops needing it. They run and kneel on hard floors. It’s not possible for them to get full mobility back.
There’s a hint of magical connections between strangers that’s silly. The climax of the action is ridiculous. I rolled my eyes.
However, there were very funny moments that had me grinning or laughing. I recommend the book as a rom-com.
It took me a minute to get into this book but once I got it in I was HOOKED! Jill despite everything is sweet and optimistic. Jack well for a MMC with amnesia you can’t help but love him. You feel like you are learning about Jack right along with him. This book made my heart ache right along with the characters. I’m not going to lie I have so many questions and can’t wait for the other brother’s books. Elizabeth Lynx did a fantastic job setting up not only a series with books on the other brothers but also the background story set in motion with their dad’s master plan.
This is Book 1 in the Billionaire Sloan Brothers Series by this author. It is a second chance romance between jilted bride Jill and her former fiance, Jack. These flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an entertaining read. Once they reconnect, it is a bumpy ride with drama and steam, humor and charm, sexual tension and chemistry, and engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An emotional journey.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Grey's Promotions and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This my first book by Elizabeth and overall i enjoyed it. Definitely was some parts in the story that felt alittle much for me but this is the first book in a new series so I’m sure the books will get better as they go along.
Definitely enjoyed reading about our characters Jack and Jill. This is also a small town romance so I love those. The chemistry was great between them and I’m really happy with how they got their happy ending. I’m interested to see how the other brothers books will take part.
Thank you to Grey Promotions and Elizabeth for the chance To read an arc of this!
This was an easy read. Entertaining, a little sexy and a lot amusing. Jill is genuinely sweet, and Jack has good intentions. They are both victims of actions out of their control. I do wish Jack was more proactive in his search for answers. But it's not a deterrent to enjoy the book. I was charmed by the dog. The story also made me want the next. I wonder how each brother will handle the women in the town.
Never Again Jack I’d the first book I have read by Elizabeth Lynx. I thought this book was like a romcom romance book with mystery and suspense to keep it interesting. The storyline was original and page turning to find out who did what and why!!! The characters were complex, had some fun banter between each other, and the spice was on point!! This book kept me on my toes until the end. I am super excited for the next book in this series. 4.5 stars-By Brooke
This is another sexy, entertaining story opening a brand new series . Jill was left at the altar by Jack a year ago. Now he comes into town having no clue why people are mad at him, until you realize that he has amnesia and has the story unfolds you will find out who the real Jack is. Lots of questions with some answers which I am sure will be hearing about in the brothers upcoming stories. As usual Elizabeth Lynx had you on the edge with this fun story.
This was a really short and faced paced book and I really enjoyed it. Jack and Jill were so cute and I love how their relationship panned out. It was fun to see how they repaired their relationship. I would love if it was a little bit longer so we got more development. The other books about his brothers sound fun.
I think this is the first book in the series. It is a little convoluted and there were sooo many characters to keep track of. I would have liked a bit more build between the MCs, especially considering the huge supposed betrayal. The town was way more upset than the FMC about being jilted. I may read others in the series, but am a little undecided.
Really fell in love with Jack’s story and his family, lots of Sloane’s brothers, you find it all , suspense action ladies with an attitude, you have to love them. It is rare that I buy a book mostly KU but I invested after reading a few chapters it was well worth it, it is my first book by the author but certainly not my last, just loved it.
I laughed and I couldn't put this story down! I absolutely love it! It was fast paced, filled with emotion and passion. It started with a shock and just kept bringing it. I'm already reading the next one by Elizabeth Lynx and I'm hooked. Great job! One of the best reads I've had in a while! And I don't like romance, so that really says something!
What a crazy mixed up story and it doesn't end with this story. What messed up lives for these brothers but finding their happy after is even more interesting. The characters were intense and luck was thrown out the door but Stalker just steals the show.
Elizabeth Lynx is a new author to me but after reading Jack and Jill’s story in Never Again Jack I will certainly be looking at her other works. Jack left Jill at the altar and basically ghosted her. When he returns home for the reading of his fathers will he seems surprised that the whole town have no time for him. But once the will is read that’s when the fun games really begin…… This was an entertaining, witty read, it’s over the top crazy but in a good way and it’s a book that will leave you smiling. It has characters that you find yourself cheering on and it’s a great book to curl up with and escape reality.
This was disenvolved in the way that i like this kind of plot to be done, dramatic and with the explanations to the wronged one being convincing, and showing that the heroine really was loved.
Pretty good book overall.. some funny parts and the chemistry between Jack and Jill (lol I barely caught that lol) is off the charts even though he has amnesia...
As always Elisabeth Lynx delivers. Full of unexpected things and twists and turns. Great characters and a lot of banters between them. Loved it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Couldn't finish it. Was okay, clearly predictable, but the plot turned insane (mafia, fiances they never met from the same small city for every brother, really?)
