Haunted Everly After #12

Wedding Presence

Rate this book
Wedding bells are ringing, but who invited the ghost?

Everly Dupree has begun to think her wedding is cursed. First, the dresses get ruined, and the invitations are wrong. Now, a freak spring snowstorm collapsed the roof of her venue. But the discovery of the town treasurer's body under the debris takes "wedding disaster" to a whole new level.

When Bill Cavanaugh's meticulous ghost starts haunting Everly, organizing files and offering financial advice, she knows she won't get a moment's peace until she solves his murder. The suspect list grows longer by the day—the ambitious banker, the rejected ex-girlfriend, even the plow driver with a grudge. Someone in Mooselick River has deadly secrets, and they cut through support beams with a chainsaw to hide them.

With her wedding just weeks away, Everly and her fiancé Drew race to transform the eerie Wentworth mansion into a last-minute venue while tracking a killer. But as they uncover small-town conspiracies and shady deals, they realize the murderer might be closer than they thought.

If Everly can't catch the culprit before walking down the aisle, her "happily ever after" might end before it even begins—with another body and another ghost haunting Mooselick River.

ReGina Welling prefers not to talk about herself in the third person so...

I live in Maine with my husband, a silly flufferpup named Dash, and a crazy cat named Cricket. I write full time and also create mixed media artwork when I get the chance.

When I was three, my mom brought home a new book and when she went to read it to me, I read it to her instead. That was when she realized I'd learned to read. Since then I couldn't even estimate the number of books I've read. It's a lot!

A lot was happening in this book! It was a great read!
I hate life hangers! AUTHOR - PLEASE NOTE. If I have read several books in a series and was finishing number 12, I don't need anything to continie reading the next in the series. Cliffhangers are a total insult to my intelligence and make me mad!!

Another fun book in the series by Regina Welling & Erin Lynn.
Snow storm, murder, ghost just another day in the life of Everly.
Everly and Drew are scheduled to be married in a few weeks when a late winter storm causes damage to there venue. That would probably make it unavailable but finding a murdered man in the collapse makes it pretty definite.
It’s taking a long time to come up with the person or persons responsible for Bill’s murder due to trying to get the Wentworth house ready for the wedding.
Many suspects and few clues, but they finally solve it.

a Brief Stumble

I enjoy the series. The town of Mooselick is as much a character in the story as anyone else. I do feel that the series is reaching a point where more secondary or tertiary characters are going to have a negative effect. Even at thus point it’s hard to remember who Thea is or not confuse Mabel with Martha.

The issue I have with thus book is the sudden use of alternate points of view. One moment, we are reading first person narrative from Everly, then there are third person chapters describing what Drew or Neena and Jacy are doing. It took me out of the story and just felt random.

This is a series that has really grown on me. I've enjoyed the changes with each character and feel like they've each grown a bit as the series has progressed. I enjoyed the way the entire team was involved in this mystery as they also prepared for Everly and Drew's wedding. The mystery and wedding pretty much shared the stage in this one and both didn't disappoint. Fun tweaks and clues to solve the murder. The wedding descriptions were good and sounded fun. I hated the cliffhanger at the end. I had hoped the author would quit doing those - nope.

There's a major snowstorm and the place the couple was going to be married is destroyed by the storm. There's a dead person at the lodge. The main effort is for the town to pull together and help each other out which is done in a very good way. I think this is the strongest part of this book.

The dead guy was murdered and his ghost talks to Everly. Turns out his ghost has some good ideas to help the town. Then there's good news for her marriage. They are able to get married is the good news.

Unfortunately bad news sort of offsets that. A good addition to the series.

On the Way to the Wedding

Everly and Crew's big day is just weeks away when the snow storm of the century arrives, cutting Mooselick River's power, downing trees, collapsing roofs and ending a life. Now, Everly and her friends have a new ghost to help. Since Everly only sees the ghost of murdered victims, maybe the storm is not to blame for the death. Follow the clues. See if you can solve the mystery. You're also invited to the wedding. Enjoy

Everly stumbles over another body (figuratively speaking) while on her way to saying her wedding vows with Drew.

Eventually the wedding does go off in the fairy tale setting of the newly renovated Wentworth Mansion (imagine a real renovation happening this quickly!) but there is a shocking ending. Poor Everly.

Stay tuned!

Wonderful story. I was so glad to finally see the next book out. I thought this might be the last one, but I don't think so. The mystery was well written with too many suspects and alibis. Recommend reading.

Great Light Murder Mystery with Ghosts to Mess Up the Paperwork

A tale that has ghosts reorganizing people's Office paperwork rather than terrorizing this is Everton's world. She can see and speak with ghosts. Well there is one boo after all.

rushed

I’ve enjoyed the series, until this book. The writing felt rushed and almost cut and pasted together. The writing style has changed and it gave me the impression that the Authors were far from being on the same page. I’ll finish the series.

3.5 stars. The pacing was a little slower in this latest installment, but it was still a good story overall. I loved Dolly.

A totally fun read. Everly thinks her wedding is cursed, everything that could go wrong, happened. Now a big surprise, a ghost. What will she do, how will her wedding turn out. Loved it.
