I read this with the Pigeonhole book club, where a section of the story is released every day over ten days. I know Susan Lewis is a popular author and the bright cover drew me to the book, so I thought I would give it a go.

Marina and Maxim are a wealthy couple in the publishing industry. Marina receives a manuscript that she thinks is about her, and she becomes very paranoid. Is there any truth amongst the fiction?

For me, this book didn’t work and I didn’t enjoy it at all. I ended up skimming through as it didn’t hold my interest.

I didn’t like any of the characters and there were far too many of them. The book within a book format didn’t work for me and I found it confusing and kept muddling up the characters and storylines. None of the characters were very developed and they all seemed flat and superficial.

The plot seemed to go round in dreary circles and the ending was rubbish. There were some inconsistencies and loose ends. What was the relevance of the creepy dolls? That plot line seemed to be abandoned halfway through.

I had hoped to enjoy this book but it wasn’t for me at all and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I honestly cannot understand how this book got so many 5 star reviews. I found it so tedious that, unlike my usual practice, I couldn't bring myself to read it to the end (quite honestly I don't care how it ends; the book has not captured one iota of interest!) As this is the 50th book by this author it just might be just that she has run out of ideas. Whatever the reason this is not a well written book, it is mostly dross and in my opinion bears no resemblance to real life. Sorry to be so harsh but this really was a terrible book.

First of all I adore Susan Lewis books and never read the synopsis, as there hasn't been any of her works that I haven't loved and I like to be surprised by the storyline.

This one did not disappoint, I couldn't put it down desperate to discover what was going to happen next.

I would have given this more than 5 stars if I could.

Please do not make me wait too long for her next book!!

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Absolutely hated this book. Hated the book within a book. Hated the characters. Donated it to landfill. Gwen

I started to wonder if I didn’t get to grips with this book because it’s a rich person story that I’m too poor to understand haha.
Mine and maxims house in the Cotswold, mine and maxims house in Holland Park, maxim jetting off again blah blah. We get it your rich and successful but not clued up enough to get any cameras outside your house to catch who’s chucking dolls outside your manor.
I was glad this wasn’t another POV where the narrator hid things from the reader but it still left me wondering what actually happened.
I think it took a long time to get to the conclusion but still left it open for the most part with us not actually finding out who killed the young women involved. I struggled with this one but it filled a gap

Had it not been for book club, this book would have been a DNF for me, and I can’t say that finishing it changes my mind. I don’t feel that I would have missed out on anything had I put it down.

For me personally, it just felt like the same three points were repeated over and over again, and so little happened in the story as a whole. It got exciting for a few chapters in the last 100 pages, but not enough for me to feel glad I read this book.

For me Shana and her ‘book’ counterpart were not connected enough for me to care or enjoy that part of the story, which is a shame, because it is quite central to ‘I Know it’s You’.

I also feel like over half of Marinas problems could have been solved by her talking to her husband, which she doesn’t do until the last 100 pages. I felt that the story took too long to get to the point (even with the reveal in the alternative ending).

Not one for me.

Awful. Boring and predictable. Confusing at times.

I found the concept of reading a book within a book really interesting and enjoyed the way the story unraveled.

Every book I have read from this author I have just loved so when her latest book called I Know It’s You by Susan Lewis came out I had to find a quiet spot in my garden, open my kindle and dive into her book. Susan always write from her heart and this book was no different. It was beautifully written from start to finish. Especially as book marks Susan Lewis’ 50th novel, which is quite an achievement and a remarkable read.

I highly recommend All of Susan's books. They will not disappoint!

Big Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins U.K. for an eARC

Congratulation to Susan Lewis for completing her 50th brilliant novel!
I always enjoy Susan Lewis’ books and while I have not read that many of them, seeing her name on a blog tour invite is all that is needed for me to jump at the chance to participate. Her books are guaranteed to keep you intrigued.
I pick up I Know It’s You and started reading without thinking about reading the blurb – so I have no idea what to expect. This book is a story within a story. It grabs your attention straight away and keeps you glued until you reach the very last page. You can expect an enjoyable read when you reach for this one.
Susan Lewis brings her characters to life in a realistic manner. She shares them warts and all. As you get to know the characters you find yourself experiencing the story from different perspectives and while each one is different you are left wondering who is telling the truth. Both sides of the story have a realistic feel making it hard to decide who you should believe.
Marina Forster is the publishing director for Janus, she worked hard to build the fiction division and her own reputation. When a close friend reaches out to request that she reads a manuscript she cannot believe that Noel would jump to the demands of an unknown author. However, Marina trusts Noel and agrees to read the opening and share her thoughts. When she reads the prologue and the first chapter of “That Girl” Marina finds that she is reminded of a tragic event from her past that almost destroyed her.
As the chapters come in one after the other, it is clear that Marina’s past has come back to haunt her and it does not take her long to find out who is behind this manuscript. Can Marina find Shana and put a stop to this slanderous book? OR is Shana going to ensure that the past comes back to destroy Mariana’s life?
This book is full of surprises. I found myself completely engrossed while I could not decide who was telling the truth – Shana or Mariana. Two women who were once friends but they allowed a man to come between them.
These characters were brilliant. Both women have flaws and you are never quite sure which one to believe. Mariana was betrayed by her ex-husband which left her vulnerable and unable to trust anyone, While you see her vulnerability and hurt you also see her cut-throat determination to succeed. She had no problem stealing her best friend’s boyfriend. Mariana is not nearly as innocent as she appears to be. As for Shana, while she should be the bad guy in the story I found myself wondering if she is that bad. These women will keep you on your toes while trying to decide who is being honest.
This is a wonderfully gripping read that has earned its place on my loved list for 2023.
If you are looking for a psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to end, then you will not go wrong by adding this book to your TBR. This is a brilliantly twisty read that I cannot recommend highly enough.

Thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was such an original concept and I was well and truly hooked. It was one of those books that was always at the forefront of my mind when I wasn’t reading it, I even dreamt about it!

Marina Forster works at a publishing company and has worked her way up to the top of the hierarchy. One day, literary agent, colleague, and close friend Noel presents her with the first chapter of a manuscript from an anonymous author going only by the name of E L Stalwood. The author has specifically requested that Marina read and provide feedback on the chapter. As more and more chapters are received, Marina becomes convinced that the book is centred around the events of her past. But there’s only one person who could know those events - and that person is in prison. So just what is going on? Who is behind the book? And what are they hoping to achieved?

I’m not usually a massive fan of a book within a book but this one was an exception. It took a little while to get used to the fake names that were used within the manuscript and to align them with the actual characters they were supposed to represent, but it was such a clever way of exploring Marina’s past! So much scandal and workplace toxicity - and I LOVE reading those kind of books! 🤣

Like I said, I was hooked. I suspected nearly every character of murder at one point or another. I was desperate to know what was going on. This book is a definite page turner! Only the second I’ve read by Susan Lewis so I definitely need to go back and read the other 48!!

This is a very strange book. Whilst I appreciate the idea behind it, I feel it was not executed very well. It was disjointed and I found the story lost it’s impact because of this.
Marina Forster is a publisher. One day a manuscript lands on her desk which will impact greatly on her comfortable life. As the book arrives chapter by chapter Marina realises that it is describing an event in her past. She cannot publish it and reveal the truth about that time but the author is determined to tell her side of the story.
The fictitious characters from the past are, intentionally, very like those in the present which causes confusion. This is probably because I wasn’t enjoying the book enough to concentrate properly.
I have read many books by Susan Lewis before but this is not one of her best works.

I did enjoy the book but it wasn’t my favourite but you do get to read two books one that is made up of Marina’s past and then the real Marina who works as a publisher and is married with twins to Maxim she is asked to look at the book to see if she likes it enough to publish it but she wishes she hadn’t there are a lot of twists to the book and wondering what was going to happen.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC

This novel unfortunately failed to captivate me. The pacing felt sluggish from the outset, and the story never truly gained momentum. I struggled to connect with the characters, finding them somewhat flat and unengaging. As a result, I found myself drifting off and losing interest in the narrative.
Recommendation:
While this book may appeal to some readers, I would not recommend it to those seeking a fast-paced or emotionally resonant read.

Best book I have read this year. Totally gripped with the story line and the deviousness of some of the characters. Plenty of twists and turns. I really liked the idea behind the story and the slow drip of information to help the reader judge what was going to happen was spot on. First book I have read from this author and it certainly won't be the last.

I have long been a fan of Susan Lewis and although I can’t claim to have read all of the other 49, I have thoroughly enjoyed every one.
This is a great read with strong synergy between the characters and storyline. Kept me interested throughout, and I had a few late nights where I couldn’t put it down! I always recommend Susan Lewis books and this one will be no different.

meh this book was okay. Nothing too special but I did like how I didn’t suspect who framed Shana. The main characters kinda irritated me but I mean anyone in that position would act the way she did.

I think I expected a lot more with how I had seen such good reviews

Not one the best of her 50 books. I found this all a little odd, and for me it jus5 didn’t flow well enough. Didn’t really like any of the characters. Felt clumsy. Took a lot of effort to read to the end. And the alternative ending.

I’m struggling to see how this book could get any five star reviews!!! It’s taken me ages to get through it-but I persevered because I thought there would be some amazing plot twist at the end. When I got to the end I thought “ is that it???”. Seriously disappointing.

Was a little disappointed in this one as felt it very similar to a book I read a few weeks ago by a different author, called The Woman who lied. Hence I kept getting a little confused. Also didn't really like the ending.
