There are millions of geocaches hidden around the world — only a few you don’t want to find.
On a fall day in the Adirondacks of Upstate New York, a couple on a scavenger hunt gets more than they bargain for with the smell of death in the High Peaks Wilderness. When a county deputy arrives, a body is found naked and bound to a tree.
But the murder is not what it appears to be, and it’s far from over. At the crime scene, cryptic clues are left behind by the killer to lure the police into a deadly game of cat and mouse.
With the clock ticking between each abduction and possible death, Noah Sutherland and his team must rely on ingenuity to track the cunning murderer through the High Peaks — knowing they have only hours before the Catcher strikes again.

I just finished The Catcher and thoroughly enjoyed all 5 High Peaks volumes and look forward to the next one. Noah is a flawed human but a good man and cop so his adventures are worth reading through to the end. Jack Hunt writes in such a descriptive and observant way, especially involving the historic mountainous region in this series. It makes each scene feel like you've been there yourself.
Books 1-4 were better. I think the author is losing his touch. There’s a big pissing contest going on between the newbies trying to prove that they’re better than Noah.
Use of the word “smirk” is annoying. My god, learn to use a different word. I don’t think people smirk as much as the author thinks they do.
I hope we learn who the mole is in book 6. I think it’s Callie or Felix.
Plot- or character-driven? A mix Strong character development? Yes Loveable characters? It's complicated Diverse cast of characters? No Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes

Somewhere between 'very good' and 'excellent ', the best in the series so far (1-5).
I'm hopeful the 6th book wraps up the major conspiracy that has been taking shape the last five books.
This is a book that as you get a couple of chapters in, your mind is focused on where is this going to, and then you realize that you need to find out how is Noah going figure out the weird clues, at each crime scene? Good Read !
Jack Hunt weaves together another great mystery thriller. I liked this one more than the previous. Noah Sutherland is still a top tier investigator, who continues to impress. More Please!
