Unexpectedly Lawson: The Lawson Legacy | A Winter Novella
Everyone’s heard the phrase ‘the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else,’ but I’d never really put much stock into it. It wasn’t something that applied to me, someone in a happy relationship.
At least it hadn’t. I’m not so sure anymore, though.
Everything’s different now, though, as I find myself alone in New York City three days before Christmas.
I left my cheating ex back in Maine, and I’m happy to leave him and every memory of him there. I have a new job, and this is my fresh start.
But who wants to be alone for the holidays?
Does that same saying still apply if it’s more than one someone? Perhaps two someones, who seem to be exactly what I need to ease the ache of my broken heart?
I guess there's only one way to find out…

"Unexpectedly Lawson" is a spicy contemporary novella, that revolves around the meet-up of Katherine with two hot billionaire brothers. It's important to know I review this as a novella; there isn't a lot of character building or plot development involved in this book, but I totally understand why the author chose to bring this part out as a novella before releasing the series revolving around these characters. It's a cute and spicy meet-up story, showing the first bond being formed between Katherine and the Lawson men and it makes me excited to see her meet more of them in the future!
The spice between these characters is hot, but what got to me most was how these men slowly fell deeper and deeper for this girl, not entirely knowing what got over them at times. I also think it's a nice change that these men are already used to sharing their women, and I'm quite curious to find out exactly how many family members are involved in that sharing-business...
I'm definitely intrigued now, and looking forward to find out what will happen next!

What a sensational little novella... pee my pants excited for the real novels to start because you know its gonna be a helluva spicy ride.
The Novella follows newly single Katherine on her first couple nights in the big Apple at the start of the Christmas Holidays ready to begin a role teaching at her dream school as soon as the break is over in the new year.
Deciding to live her life instead of festering thinking about her awful ex she dons her gladrags and decides to have a night on the town.
She ends up in a hot nightclub shooting down trier after trier until two large hunky man meats decide to scare the rest away.
Desmond and his Uncle Alex have seen her and are both wanting her for sharing (they do mention that normally Alex's brother, Desmond father gets in on this too) and after a fun evening decide to take Katherine home and give her a night to remember.
A misunderstanding the following morning leaves Katherine scampering away and the men not intending on being done with her.

Sara has done it again. This story is different from her usual books and I have fallen in love with these characters. This novella was the perfect way to introduce us to some of the characters of the Lawson Legacy series that is slated to come out next year. Katherine is a softer fmc who is making a new start in a new city. After landing her dream job she’s ready to embrace this journey, but starting over during the holiday season is not what she expected. She decides take to a big step and go out on one of her firsts nights in the city. Little did she know that would lead her to Alex and Desmond. She has no clue who they are and what they do, which shocks the two of them. She’s a breath of fresh air and it leads to one steamy night for the three of them. That night is everything and more for Katherine, but it was just one night. At least that’s what Katherine thinks, little does she know that she’s now on the radar of two men who may not let her go.
I am obsessed with these men and literally cannot wait to meet the rest of the group. I will be attempting to wait patiently for this series to come out. Katherine deserves to be treated like the queen she is and I think these men are the ones who could do that.

I love a holiday novella. This was not on my tbr for the holidays but decided to go for it anyways and yep I’m sucked in. This had great spice and I want to know more! More about the FMC and these very rich sexy men. And the men we didn’t get to meet yet….

What a delightful little novella! It was such a fast paced and fun read. I cannot wait for the next book!
Kat is making a big move to New York for work after a big breakup. She decides to go out for one night of fun and ends up at a hot nightclub that turns out to be owned by the Lawsons. Kat doesn't know them as she's new in the big apple, but draws in Desmond and Alex Lawson. Apparently the Lawson family are known for their sharing is caring ways ;) and they bring home Kat after a fun evening for a more fun night. The next morning, as Kat is leaving she sees something and a misunderstanding follows and she scurries away. This is where we basically end up, thus setting up the next book. I CANNOT WAIT.

Unexpected Lawson is a fast-paced novella, this is the prequel to the “Lawson Legacy Series” and it gives us a look into how the relationship between Katherine, Desmond, and Alex began.
Katherine is newly single and it’s her first night in New York, it’s just a few days before Christmas and Katherine is getting ready to start her teaching role when classes resume after the new year and she can’t wait, she’s excited for her new beginning.
Katherines still hung up over the breakup with her cheating ex, but she’s bound and determined to put it all behind her and live her life to the fullest. Katherine decides that for one night she’s going to get dressed up and hit the night life of New York. Once she’s ready, she calls for an uber and asks the driver to take her to a good club, the driver takes her to Lavo’s.
Once Katherine gets into the club, Katherine thinks it’s a nice place, and she’s enjoying herself having a couple of drinks. Then the free drinks start to arrive. The owners offer the drinks trying to hit on her, but Katherine isn’t interested and she starts to think that coming out wasn’t such a good idea after all. Katherine rolls her eyes and thinks “here comes another one”, but thankfully, Katherine doesn’t have to put up with an oblivious owner for long as two gods come over and chase him away.
They introduce themselves as Desmond and Alex and both men watch Katherine’s face and quickly realize that she doesn’t know who they are or what they do and that alone shocks them and everyone in New York knows who they are and what they do, and for both Desmond and Alex, this it’s a refreshing change for someone not to know who they are or what they do.
Katherine, Desmond, and Alex get to know each other, they share a few dances, they visit a beautiful place, and they all feel this strong connection, it’s instant, pulsing between them like it’s a living and breathing entity ready to detonate.
Katherine, Desmond, and Alex share a memorable night together, even though Katherine hesitates at first, Katherine deep in her heart knows that it feels right and she believes that it’s just for one night, so why not give in. The next morning Katherine’s glad she did because that night was beyond her expectations and was explosive.
This was such the perfect start to The Lawson Legacy series. It was sweet, fun, explosive and so much more. It had wonderful characters. And then there was that ending. I can’t wait for the rest of this story.

That dedication is everything ! That in its self would make me want to read this book, it had me laughing so much!

We follow newly single Katherine on her first night in new York, it's near Christmas and she's their to start her teaching role after new year and she can't wait. She's hung up over the breakup with her ex but she's determined to put it behind her and live her life, so for one night she decides to get dressed up and hit the night life off new York. Once ready she hops in her Uber and asks to be taken to a good club, the driver takes her to lavo's.

I loved this book the only thing I wish is that this book kept going, because I just want to know what happens next. No honestly I NEEDZ to know, but I’ll sit patiently waiting for book 1 to release.

At first it was hard for me to get into because I was like OMG Kat baby girl you’re so boring lol not in a mean way but in a okaaay I get it your ex wasn’t shit time to move ooon alreeaaddddy lolol AND BOY DID SHE !!! Desmond 💍 🍆 and Alex 😈😮💨 Idunno how else to explain them and what they do without spoiling it lolol but just know … I want what they did to her done to me 🫣👀🫣& Kat grew on me during the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ parts. She’s the perfect amount of submissive making you want to worship the ground she walks on and that is scaaary lol. OH AND that ending ???!!! THE PLOT TWIST ??!!! I fell in love with this novel and I'm so depressed it was just a novella. I was incredibly lucky and recieved a copy of this novel from Sara Hinds review group, and I am so glad I joined. We meet our FL as she's making a huge change in her life and moving to NYC away from an ex (mystery ex, is he abusive? Probably). On her first actual night in the city she decides to say eff it and have fun at a local club. There she meets two of our smoking hot MLs. I loved the chemistry that the MLs had between them, a lot of authors seem to forget that if they're related they have years of memories and experiences together and would act that way. They definitely showed their experience! I cannot wait for more!

I wasn't too sure going into this since it's a prequel novella with a little insta-lust/love thrown in.
Typically, I prefer a bit more of a slowish burn with more relationship building, however I've come to trust the process when Sara Hinds books are concerned and once again I was not disappointed!

My heart broke for our FMC at the end despite the fact that we as readers know there is a misunderstanding here. I'm anxious for the next installment to see where this story goes!

I loved the introduction to the characters, Katherine isn’t the type of fmc that I usually go for. She’s definitely on the softer side but has strong inner strength …I can already tell i’m just going to adore her.
I love a good spicy novella, and we got a preview of Desmond and Alex, although a couple more were mentioned….
There is a small cliffhanger (more miscommunication based) so it’s not one of those throw your kindle across the room cliffhangers, but it was enough of one to cause me to grumble and pout a little 🥺

This short and spicy novella is the best type of prequel; so many hints and teases for the main series that have me hooked in already!
I really like Katherine and I loved how she dusted herself off and got back to her plan after ditching her ex straight off the bat. I’m not a huge insta-lust/love fan but the chemistry between her, Desmond and Alex won me over immediately and it works perfectly in this type of novella and in this setting. I can’t wait to meet the rest of the Lawsons!
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely and I have added all the authors works to my TBR

This is a prequel novella for the Lawson Legacy and Sara Hinds states that this novella "is not required for the story to be read." I strongly disagree, this a definite must read. A quick read with only a glimpse into the characters in the upcoming Lawson Legacy series, but what a glimpse! Sara packs so much into such a quick read that left me wanting more and I am so happy I read this first. The interactions and emotions explored in such a short timeframe was enticing, something I'm sure was done on purpose to make me wait for the release of Book 1. Thank goodness I only have to wait a week!!

I love everything Sara writes so I really shouldn’t be surprised by how much I loved this smutty little read. The quick story starts with Katherine fleeing from her cheating ex to a new job in New York City right before Christmas. She decides to make the best of the big city on Christmas Eve by heading to one of the hottest nightclubs around.
She’s laying low and enjoying a few drinks at the bar, or so she thinks, before she catches the eye of 2 men who exude power and maybe even a little danger. She should run away… but she finds herself feeling safe and can’t help but step into the flames of passion. What can it hurt? It’s just one night after all…

This a holiday novella that is an introduction to The Lawson Legacy series. Katherine has just arrived in NYC to start her dream job. She arrives heartbroken, and decides a night out is just the thing to cheer her up. She meets Desmond and Alex at the club, and ends up going home with them. They have a hot night together, and that’s pretty much the end. I’m intrigued by the ending, excited to meet the rest of the guys, and impatient because I have to wait lol. I really enjoyed this and I’m looking forward to learning more about Kat and her guys!

This is a prequel to a book releasing next year, it Seems very promising! A guy & his uncle ( they are rich) , & a newly moved teacher who recently got her heart broken.
I noticed that they said that Alex's brother may also become interested in her. That seems exciting 👀 The misunderstanding at the end hurt me a bit lol.. bcs no don't get the wrong idea & i truly hope it aint as it seems😭
Ill definitely keep an eye out for this series next year. I can't wait for them to meet each other again, & I hope they chase her a bit, normally i dont like it when the guys in the harem have been a player before her but they seem lika good guys so ill give them the benefit of doubt. I received an arc read from the author & will always give my honest opinion.

Unexpectedly Lawson is a novella that gets us acquainted with some characters from the Lawson Legacy Series. It’s a short novella and a quick read. I wished it was longer, but I know there is more to come in the future so Im not too sad. The characters are amazing. The spice is hot. Sara Hinds really knows how to grab you and keep you there. I am definitely a lifelong fan of her work. Im going to be patiently impatiently waiting for the rest of the Series!

Not sure of the details just that she left her boyfriend. When she got to the city she found a hotel to stay in. She decided to go out that night. That is where she met 2 guys. She spent a lot of time with them and she enjoyed all of it. They took her to see the tree and the skating rink in Times Square. She had no idea who they were and they had a lot of money. It was refreshing for them.

I may have just discovered my new favorite “why choose” author🤣 This novella doesn’t beat around the bush and dives right in. Multi-POV and the writing style is smooth. This is where the Lawson Legacy begins and I will be diving into Beneficial Misfortune immediately.

Really like how the author writes but st times it was hard to understand certain sexual positions and who was talking in a scene.
The love scenes didn't really flow in this book, perhaps since they were just hooking up? Idk
Seemed like there should've been more kissing during the foreplay & snex scene.
Im also confused by Desmond's inner monologue about how the fmc was about to receive the queen treatment from their threesome.
They went down on her once, tgey each got laid AND a bj each!

This is a going to be a spicy read when the full book comes out. This is just a little taste of what’s to come. Katherine with two hot billionaire and It a breath of fresh air for these men that Katherine doesn’t know them. Katherine left her ex for a fresh start when she noticed a red flag. Katherine first night in NY with 2 men was a one night stand as far she knew. Alex and Dem have been keeping tabs. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

This felt like a dangling carrot… I ate up their story! Such a tease… I want to know what’s their group dynamic??? Kat thinks this was a one night stand, but she rocked these guys' world…. And that was only 2 of them. There are more. She didn’t know anything about them. She’s thriving now in her new job…. I can’t wait to see her world rocked again and see how she runs into them again… bring it on!

I fell in love with the sweet Katherine! Desmond and Alex will make you soon! A sweet novella introducing you to some characters for an upcoming book! Katherine starts with heartache and moving. First night in new York and she decides she needs to do something for herself. She goes out meets the 2 men who are in awe of her! She sees the famous lighted tree and a night of spice! Leaves you wanting more of their story now because nothing is as it seems!
