I found this book to be extremely helpful, well-presented and most importantly, written in a concise and clear way. The editing is excellent also and perfectly formatted for my Kindle. I'm about to embark on starting up my own business with my girlfriend so this was a great time to read this book. And I have no doubt I'll be coming back to it for reference and making notes as my year/business adventure progresses!
The authors clearly have great experience and I think this is an invaluable purchase to anyone wanting to start their own. I learned many great tips and insight, as well as advice on management skills and decision-making.
First, let me say that this book has decent content, quite a few good pieces of advice for people just starting out or thinking about starting a business and very little nonsense.
However, I found the writing style to be very painful to read, and the author spends pages talking about elements often very vaguely related to the main subject. It just felt slow and disorganized to me, and I would say that out of the ~90 pages, there was probably around 4-5 pages of content to me.
As I said if you're thinking about making the jump, there's definitely good advice for you in this book, but I just didn't learn much myself and didn't enjoy the read.
Jeff Roziere had written an interesting book of well-rounded proven advice for the potential entrepreneur. The book is written and presented with simple straight forward scenarios that most business owner would and could experience on a daily basis, while trying to make a success of his/her business. The bit about your family and friends don’t buy from you, is on point, and the bit about investing in learning your business is too true. I highly recommend it to anyone contemplating their own business.
awesome book for the freshly starting, or those thinking about starting a business. For me the authors confirmed some things I wondered about, such as start up budget, and brought to light some really funny perspective around friends and family. I highly recommend this read!
great book for anyone starting a business... must read. I love the humor and perspective the authors bring... So true some of the things new business owners believe that are simply untrue!
