Lasting Love #3

Diary Of A Loving Heart

Rate this book
With the death of her sister Vangie, Chris Beth finds herself struggling to keep the family together. The children appear to be adjusting to the loss, but not Vangie's husband Wil-his silence is hiding a depth of grief that resists comfort. When painful memories drive Wil away from those he loves, a strange foreboding overwhelms Chris Beth-as though a permanent night has fallen over their home. But evening means stars, and after that the dawn. If only Chris Beth could believe that... Diary of a Loving Heart promises a new kind of courage, a new appreciation of home and family, and offers the gentle reminder that the Almighty looks after His children.

great book! so many twists and turns in this novel, the 3rd installment of the Love is a Gentle Stranger series by June Masters Bacher. more of the story unfolds of the prairie settlers in the Oregon territory as they are rocked with one hardship after another. Will they survive all that surrounds them. More importantly, will their faith survive against all the odds.

This was pretty good! I felt really bad for Chris Beth throughout the book. She lost her sister, and then a husband.

We also saw Chris Beth reading her sister, Vangie's, diary. I found that aspect of the book interesting. I also found Joe to be very sweet to Chris.

Really liked this book! Also, i read it while on a trip.

This novel was a good story filled with characters who had varied interests. I enjoyed the romance because I enjoy stories based in the past. I could picture the simple homes filled with love. I guessed the ending by the time I was about half way through the novel.

If you read this, you will cry. That’s all there is to it. Once again though, not enough development of the relationship! Only would’ve give it 3 starts but any book that can make me cry that much deserves another star.

Uncanny love, surprise

Best book I have read in a bit! The thrill of discovery of a new territory and then add in an illness that takes a life. How God is with us always. Even when we walk away!

I loved the books, a trilogy, and always enjoy stories of the early years of America being settled....peaceably.

Clean Christian romance.

Fast read. Lots of plot twists. Historical romance. Would recommend for junior high age through adult. Read both books. Thanks

A good story, but the writing was too sparse for my taste. I could only vaguely see how the end relationship came about.
