They grew up together, then they grew apart. Now they’re both back at the ranch trying to pick up the pieces of their broken lives. After enduring a traumatic assault, Riley Winters seeks refuge at her childhood home, the Double Diamond. She soon learns there are some things you can’t hide from, including the feelings she once had for her best friend. Ranch hand Daniel Hamilton has made a string of bad choices. Staying close to the ranch is the only thing that keeps him sober. When the woman he has loved his whole life suddenly shows up at the ranch again, he faces a whole new set of challenges. It doesn’t help that Riley has a panic attack every time he gets close. When Riley’s attacker catches up to her, both are forced to face their demons. Demons that might tear them apart once and for all.
Trigger Love Rebranded is a clean and wholesome romance, however, it deals with sexual assault and alcohol addiction. Though not graphic, the discussion of some events may trigger sensitive readers.
Jill Burrell is an author of sweet, small-town romances full of faith, hope, and family.
She has always been an avid reader, and romance has always been her favorite genre. If she’s not writing or folding laundry her head is usually in a book.
When her father told her, “I’ve got a story I want you to write,” she didn’t think she’d ever actually do it. But after twenty years of being a stay-at-home mom with seven children, the idea of writing and publishing a book sounded less terrifying than entering the workforce again. Boy, was she wrong!
This is a book to cherish. And read it again. It was a long process to read the story. But I could t lay it down. This story depicts real life and consequences. The best part. It reveals how to get thru and above the problems of life. My only addition would be to point to our God who wants the best for us
A clean, sensitive story of enduring trauma and how manage the effects of it with the loving support and help of friends and family. Has a good ending, and good ideas on strategies to deal with the management of issues that arise from traumatic experiences. Jill writes well.
Riley is a ARNP in Seattle. She loves her job. She rooms with her cousin, Paige. There is a drug rep that comes by the office and flirts with everyone. He is especially taken with Riley. When he asks her out in front of everyone, they all say yes for her. She's not that taken with him. When he brings her home, he unlocks her door and follows her in. She tries to tell him she isn't interested, but she assaults her anyway. Paige comes home and stops him before he actually rapes her. She files a police report, but the charges are dropped because he is a senator's son. When he continues to stalk Riley, she goes home the the Double Diamond for the summer. Daniel is her best friend and they had dated, but she broke up with him 3 years ago because she wasn't ready to marry. Daniel had been in a car accident where a little boy was killed. After that he started drinking and went down hill from there. He just seemed to keep falling off the wagon. So he's home at the DD to work. They both have to work through their trauma. Collin the drug rep still stalks Riley. Very tender topic. Lots of healing taking place for both Riley and Daniel.
Wow! What a great book! Riley is stalked and harassed after of an attempted date rape, and runs to the only place she feels safe, Double Diamond Ranch. She's ashamed and hides what happened from her family. But she can't run or hide from the fear & anxiety that consumes her or her stalker. Riley's ex boyfriend, Daniel, is a recovering alcoholic and is living & working with his parents at the Double Diamond Ranch to avoid a relapse. He wants to help Riley but fears he will have his heart broken again and that his sobriety will be threatened. You will find courage, strength and inspiration as Riley & Daniel face and overcome their struggles, fears & traumas to find their way back to each other with a love that endures. This book sure hit my heart hard. It was gut wrenching & scary with a few tears shed along the way. This series has started off with a bang! I received an ARC courtesy of StoryOrigin and this is honest, voluntary review.
When Riley is sexually assaulted by her date, she takes a leave of absence and returns to her home in order to put distance between herself and her assaulter who has a rich and powerful father. Daniel works on her family’s ranch and is a recovering alcoholic. Daniel and Riley had been best friends and later became more before she left town to go to college. He has a deep, dark secret that he really does not want to share with anyone.
Wonderful story about trauma, PTSD, and healing. The characters are well-developed and generate empathy from readers. The story deals with sensitive issues such as alcoholism and sexual assault. Life Lesson: Trust those who love you.
I received a free advance copy of this book. My review is voluntary and unbiased.
I love all things Jill Burrell, and this was amazing!!! If I could give this 100 stars I would!!! Riley is a nurse practitioner and has had a traumatic assault, she decides to go home to the family ranch; The Double Diamond Ranch. Daniel is a ranch hand at the Double Diamond, he has his own demons with alcohol addiction. Riley and Daniel have dated in the past. What will happen when Riley and Daniel see each other again? Can either one of them overcome their terrible problems? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Burrell!!!
I need to know.... If I'm ever going to be able to handle....physical touch and...any kind of intimacy again."
He scrubbed a hand over his jaw, his stubble making a rasping sound. "Wow. I was not expecting that."
"I'm afraid I'm always going to be repulsed by advances from men." She rubbed at her arms, recalling the way her skin had crawled when the cocky cowboy propositioned her.
"It's not something you should rush into, Ri. It's only been a little over a month since..." He let his words die off. "Give yourself more time to heal, and I'm sure you'll be fine."

Love Rebranded is a clean, inspirational, second chance romance. Ms. Burrell handled difficult topics with care and sensitivity. There is a lot of angst, but the focus in this well written book is on recovery and healing from addiction, trauma and PTSD. There is an emphasis on forgiving yourself and also on helping others. I was glued to this book from page one. I was really invested in Riley, Daniel and their relationship. I love how the books ends!
I loved this story! I can't wait to read more from the Seeking Providence series. In Love Rebranded, the characters were well written and you felt invested in their story and the struggles & triumphs of Riley and Daniel. A book to easily get caught up in as you read! Kudos to Jill Burrell for writing such a thoughtful and enjoyable book, with great characters! I'm really looking forward to more from this author!
Daniel and Riley have been best friends since they were very little. Somewhere along the line when they were teens they started dating and Daniel knew Riley was the one for him. Then Riley left home and Daniel to pursue her career destroying Daniel in the process. Three years later Riley returns home after a very bad encounter with a date. Can they rekindle their relationship ship, at least the friend part, or have tragedies in both lives end that possibly?
An enjoyable read which touches on difficult topics
The author took on two difficult subjects - alcoholism and sexual abuse and handled them in a realistic way that might be triggering to some but offers hope. I liked both of the main characters and felt for the. As they faced their challenges with a supportive community to assist.
The things that Daniel and Riley have been through were emotionally crippling, they are fortunate to have had the support of their family and friends. I enjoyed the story and the characters, they showed so much strength in the ways they worked through their grief and pain.
Grateful for the trigger warning a the beginning. This is truly a beautiful book with such important things covered. I loved seeing familiar characters again and was pulling for the healing to happen that needed to. So amazing to see the way that opportunities came to each of them.
Daniel and Riley both have quite a past. They are back at the ranch to heal and move forward. I enjoyed this story of healing and growing. It was a great story.
TRIGGER WARNING: Deals with sexual assault, addiction, and abduction. After Riley is assaulted the second time by the same person she leaves town and goes back home to the ranch. That means returning to where her first love lives also, Daniel. She knows he's been struggling with some traumatic events and addiction but not the details. Will her return help or hurt him? Can he help her? What happens when her attacker finds her again? Is this Daniel and Riley's second chance? I received a copy of this book from the author. Review voluntarily given.
