His parents ignore him.
His motorcycle is trashed from the accident.
He has nowhere to sleep, no money left, and no job to earn more. With few options open to him, Dario's future is dark, and depression is sneaking around the frame of his world. This book certainly had an interesting concept and the little twist was good, if not a little expected. Maybe it's just me, but I got a little tired of the sexual notations and comments. With Jack Reacher, I tolerate random sex and cheesy comments about how people look, etc.. Jack Reacher is a badass. Dario, on the other hand, is not. It got a little old hearing about how cute Mia's backside was. I think the book probably would have been much better if it had been edited a little better. There were several instances of Mia being spelled "Mai" and, while that's not a big deal, it did take me out of the story the first time to make sure it was a typo then just kind of annoyed me on subsequent times. There were also a few instances where phrases were, for the most part, repeated (and not as a style thing). But, overall, it was an interesting story that has a ton of potential. My rating, by the way, is 1 star = hated it, 2 stars = didn't like it, 3 stars = liked it, 4 stars = really liked it, and 5 stars = loved it/would read again/will recommend to all of my friends.
